What's December Without Christmas Eve? [Tree Decorating: OPEN]

Well, Kay and Elita had done it. It took awhile, and surprisingly, all in one night, but they'd been able to grab branches from the large crystal trees that the pink robot had grown, and placed them all around Haven. Where, specifically? Outside the temples! Really, surprised no one noticed it.  But to those who walk out of the them, they'll now notice a tree on either their right or left, empty, glittering, and with a note.



What could this mean? What's this? There's trees everywhere! What's this? And depending on what your alignment is/where you live, you'll get a different tree. 

(ooc: I'll be putting comments up for each quadrant's tree. Comment under whichever one you'd like to react to/decorate/chat with people under. It's a huge mingle thread! Also, don't forget to put your tag in the log!

PRIMA QUADRANT

Prima Aligned can expect to see a rather decent sized crystal 'tree', even by robot standards. It's branches have been trimmed neatly in a diagonal cuts, giving it the appearance of a pine tree, but pristine enough to look almost like a cone. Prima seems to be the epitome of class in Kay's mind, so a well kept tree seemed to be in order. It's situated to the right of the temple entrance, light bouncing off it's crystal body from the temple itself as you look into it.

Tarn's standing here looking at his quadrant's tree, and thinking it might need to be relocated...

Rung hadn't been back to the temple in awhile; at least that's what it felt like. He'd been spending so much time at his office, even falling into recharge there a few times, that he hadn't really stopped in at the temple.

So, he'd finally decided to change that, having found some free time of course.

He spotted the tree and Tarn as he approached, optics flickering a bit as he regarded the mech standing there for a brief moment before drawing closer. It was near the temple after all so he needed to walk by anyway...

"..Someone's been busy," he said with a faint smile, just trying to be friendly and all as he tried to make his way past. "Putting up a tree and all. I'm..assuming it's some sort of custom?"

Tarn slowly turned his head to look down at this smaller person, revealing a face that only a Decepticon could love. Actually, his whole face was just generally really ... Decepticon-y.

His voice was another matter entirely, because wow, smooth as silk. And that's kind of a big deal since both parties are robots and neither would really know the first thing about silk. A good way to describe the product though? ---> Smooth as Tarn's voice when he starts speaking.

"You think I did this?"

The other's face threw Rung off and he tensed a bit at first, optics dimming some in a wary sort of way. But the other's voice...that voice didn't really match the other's look.

It was odd.

"N-No I just..I meant in general," the therapist murmured, forcing his gaze away from Tarn to look at the tree, no longer trying to slip by now as he peered at the note attached to it. He smiled faintly as he finished reading it, almost chuckling. "Kay. That explains it then."

Tarn leans over Rung's shoulder, huge bulk crowding the smaller bot's personal space, as he looks at the note.

"'Kay?' Care to share what you've learned with the rest of the class?"

Oh Primus personal bubble invaded!

Rung tensed just a bit, resisting the urge to jerk away because, well, this wasn't the first time he'd been crowded by a bot that made him uncomfortable. No need to be rude..or something.

"Um..Kay..is one of the human residents of Haven. This--ah--was her doing apparently. I would assume she is trying to spread holiday cheer," he explained quickly, hesitantly glancing up and back at the other bot.

"What holiday would that be?"

Everything about Tarn seems lazy and relaxed, from the way he rolls his head in Rung's direction to the way he hasn't straightened up yet, and is still casually looming.

You're...really big. Very big and you look like an angry bird. Don't mind if the girl just...hides out. Spying on you.

What are you talking about? He might look foul, but he's certainly no fowl.

Really, there's no resemblance at all.



But where are you hiding, mammal? Wouldn't you like to come out and say 'hi?'

The bird looks nicer, Tarn. You should have said there was resemblance. There's a slight shuffle as she peeks out more, maybe scattering a few pebbles.

"I've never seen anyone like you before..."

Is she hiding behind the tree?

He looks down. And then he just keeps looking down further until he finally sees her. Scanners had indicated something small and organic nearby, and he'd been wondering when the little thing would come out.

"You're a human, aren't you?" he asks, voice nothing but straight-up jolly.

And then he's squatting down into a completely unexpected frog pose, and wow that was a lot of suddenly descending mass out of nowhere. Somehow, it doesn't make him look any less enormous.

"And I've seen very few things as small as you." He reaches out a hand invitingly, the way someone might to a skittish animal. "Why don't you come over here?"

Let's go with that!

She's seen plenty of large mechs in this world, but you're one of the larger ones, Tarn, so she might be a little in awe/apprehensive about coming out completely. Your voice does wonders, though, and it causes her to take a step out.

"You haven't talked to many humans, huh. There's a few of us here, you know."

That hand causes her to stop, looking up at it and leaning back.

He's ... not very good at dealing with the local fauna...

"I'd gotten that impression."

When Kay leans back, he leans just a fraction closer. One finger curls in a beckon. "Come on..."

"Wonder how long it took to make that?"

A look to the left would reveal the source of the flanged voice to be Garrus perched on a structure of the temple. It's a few dozen feet away and a bit high up, giving him a good overview of the entrance. That, and a comfortable distance between him and whoever passes through.

Yeah alright, so avoiding the locals entirely was going to be impossible at this point, but he's still taking some precautions. Like escape routes. And keeping a comfortable buffer space. Still, may as well try to make some sort of contact considering they're not really going anywhere.

Tarn glances over at the small organic. The armour does a good job of keeping it from looking completely disgusting, and he wonders if the alien is built into the suit, or if it can be removed completely. Scans indicate that the little thing is somewhat metallic in its makeup. That's almost cute.

"And why someone would spend the time."

Garrus has Tarn's full attention now, and his voice is nothing but amicable. "Have you read the attached note?"

Amicable. He could work with that. Even if that fabulous mask looked like the picture definition of ominous bad guy. There's a tentative flick of the mandibles as Garrus looks back to the trimmed crystal formation, still keeping watch on the large machine with the corner of his eye.

"Decorating the tree? Sounds like an old human celebration I saw back home on the Citadel. Minus any physical trees, since growing them wasted the station's water." A space station, in other words.

"I'd check the details on the extranet, but there's bad reception on this planet." Could these robots brain jokes? May as well try.

Torture and murder. Decepticon stuff. the usual. Idly wondering about u 2

Oh Garrus, stop being so genre savvy. Maybe this mask is just used to intimidate shop vendors into giving him a larger discount. Don't judge his fashion man, maybe he got this on Tuchanka.

And 'bad guy'? Excuse you. He just prefers his eggs on the renegade side, okay?

"I can see how growing organic material would be a waste."

H-hey. Maybe that... maybe that was a joke too? At least he still sounds super jolly! So! That's gotta count for something, right?

No no. He's pretty familiar with this. There's renegade, then there's clearly ominous (and possibly Reaper-aligned) glowy-eyed creepy bad. This was edging more towards the latter. Unless Tarn's hiding all his renegade scarring under there.

There's a raise of a brow plate at the pun(at least he thinks its a pun), though it doesn't quite get a smile. Well. It was something. Better continue the story.

"People tended to just make an interactive display, instead. You could adjust it's appearance through your omni tool.", he looks away from the tree to fix on the Decepticon,"It was much simpler, in any case."

     Even if they weren't the leafy sort that he would associate with trees, these were definitely pretty, not to mention huge! The boy runs around the base of it to get a look from all angles, finally coming to a stop before he made himself dizzy.

     "Wow...!" It looks nice enough without decorations- how were they supposed to decorate these anyway? Folding an arm in front of him, Ventus strokes his chin in thought. He lifts his head, slipping a hand into his pocket to pull out his wayfinder.

While Ventus is spinning around looking at the tree, Kay comes back to check up on it, and sees him circling. Oh good! He likes it. And when he stops and pulls out that wayfinder, she sneaks behind him, peeking over his shoulder.

"Oh WOW! That ornament is PERFECT!"

     Whoa, where did she come from?! The boy spins around with a yelp- and promptly loses his balance, landing on his backside.

     Despite a brief wince, Ventus still manages a smile as he looks up at Kay. He looks back down at his wayfinder.

     "I was thinking it might work. I'll definitely want it back, though."

SHE'S A NINJA.

Oh you're funny. Don't mind if Kay giggles into that scarf of hers, pulling it up over her mouth slightly. She won't just leave him down there, though, offering a hand to help him up.

"No problem-o, Ven! Just until Christmas!"

     There may have been the faintest pout at that giggle, but he nevertheless accepts the hand up. The boy holds up the Wayfinder, nodding.

     "Where do you think would be a good place for it?" he asks as he looks up at the tree.

That gets her thinking, giving the tree a once-over as she circles it. "Well, can you even reach the higher branches? Maybe we should look lower..."

Although even some of the lowest branches could be out of their reach. This could be hard.
