[PF Log] Searching Tarn's Territory & Finding Ambulon's Body

WHO: Kaon + Members of the PF Force who responded to this & McCrane
WHERE: Nexus' Quadrant & Tarn's house
WHEN: Backdated to July 30th
WHAT: A) Searching for Ambulon's Body and B) rifling around in Tarn's House
WARNINGS: Some robogore when they find Ambu's corpse!

With both teams assembled and set in motion, the first hour of each mission began in haste.

In Nexus's Quadrant it began with an aerial sweep, with Prowl waiting for any pings that their Seeker scout had found visual cues matching up to the video's description. The others were spread out on the ground, covering different sectors of the quadrant to maximize their coverage.

Contact was kept frequently in between each other. They didn't have much time to spare. As the hour began to draw to a close, Thundercracker might find some luck in spotting what remained of the gruesome scene: Ambulon was dead, and there wasn't much left of the body to recover. His head and a significant part of his body was missing - it looks like someone had come to do more damage to the doctor after he slowly bled out of his head and died. One might surmise that the parts may even have been eaten.

The scene around him was mostly intact, chair and spikes and all. Quite a decorative show of a crime scene.

It's unfortunate they were too late.

The raid of Tarn's territory in Prima's quadrant would be a stealth run. And good thing too, since their numbers aren't particularly strong at the moment. Fortunately for them, the Decepticon's neighborhood appears to be largely empty. Tarn was no where to be found.

Rather odd and quiet.

Too quiet.

Unfortunately, Tarn appeared to be savvier than initially expected; the recording device they expected is no where to be found. However, come half an hour into their investigation, Kagerou appears to find something else hidden in the buildings of the neighborhood. Something unexpected: the comatose body of the Autobot archivist, Rewind. He appears to have been physically beaten, but alive. Probably next in line on the chopping block.

Worse yet, they might not be entirely alone...

Rescue party away!

Which was better than an altercation, he supposed. Better they go out with the intent to assist than to make him partake in a fight. Perceptor would never have come if it were the case.

Still... it didn't stop him from bringing the rifle. For the most part, he stayed silent, trundling along. A tank was hardly subtle, but nothing about this seemed to scream secrecy.

"I'm not seeing any signs," he reported.

As much as Perceptor was reluctant to fight, Thundercracker was eager. At least they could balance each other out?

The Seeker winged about high overhead, scanners at max as he searched for clues, for anything. His comm clicked on to reply, checking in that he didn't either, but then there was only faint static for an instant when he didn't actually speak right away. And when he did . . . his tone was grim. "I am." He pinged his teammates with coordinates, then circled and descended, transforming the last several meters above the ground to land smoothly on his feet. One rifle primed, arm at the ready to level it in any direction while he kept half his attention on his surroundings, he crouched to get a closer look at the body. "Someone . . . or something else has been here. There's almost as much of him missing as still here."

"Oh. Delightful."

He would sass as he pleased. It was, in a way, a form of dealing with uncomfortable situations. Perceptor was far more at home in the lab... not dealing with potential trap situations from the Decepticon Brute Squad.

Though it did stand to reason. So he did as tasked, drawing to a stop a fair distance from the coordinates, engine idling.

Tarn or whoever did this would be a fool NOT to use this as an opportunity. How many times had Thundercracker seen or heard of one Autobot captive – or carcass – used as bait to lead in others? But then, that was assuming a further agenda, and Thundercracker wasn't sure he actually thought Tarn had one.

Still, Prowl's caution was perfectly called for.

The Seeker took to the air, thruster heels lifting him just high enough for a better vantage and to be less vulnerable than he was on the ground, second rifle primed and ready. He nodded at Prowl as the interceptor arrived, and again at Perceptor, acknowledging the researcher's presence. Unless Prowl told him otherwise, however, he remained airborn. Perceptor might or might not have better scanners, but it didn't hurt to have two people covering their afts. That and he didn't like being on the ground when there was a potential threat in the area.

It was a good thing that Tarn was nowhere to be seen, Blurr knew. It was a good thing for everyone's sake. And yet, it was also terribly frustrating to know that the Decepticon managed to get away one more time. Their groups will clash eventually and he knew it won't be nice.

Blurr almost sighed out loud. More than fifteen minutes looking everywhere and there were no traces of the device they used to record Ambulon, or any proofs that could be used against the DJD members.

He turned to face the mech closer to him, his voice slower and more controlled than usual.

"Any luck?"

Albert took things a little too close to hear than he should. He knew how to keep his cool yes, but in his heart he carried the weight of other men's evil in him. He felt an obligation to rid the world of it...especially like bots like Tarn.

Tarn went against any kind of decent life. Only a machine could be so vilely ruthless and play it off as a harmless lesson.

The cyborg rifled through the remains, in a quiet but desperate search for any evidence against the head of the DJD. With a solemn fold of his arms, he shook his downcast head, "With this kind of luck who needs enemies like Tarn?"

He preferred to move alone. No one here would be... well. It didn't feel right to work with someone else. They wouldn't know how to move. How to be quiet, unseen. He was secure, though, in his stealth systems -- so far, so good. No one had managed to sense him yet.

He was apart from the others, though he kept in communication range. Tense and terrifying as this was, there was familiarity and comfort in doing what he knew how to do.

It was eerie, to say the least, moving through the quiet neighborhood. His sensors were in full sweep, trying to detect the slightest motion. Nothing seemed to stir. Unnerving. In fact, he was just about to report as much, before something -- some vague little pulse of electronic signature, faint, distant -- all but jerked his head around.

"I have something."

That was all he said, all he sent to the others, before moving closer. It didn't seem to be moving. Whatever it was.

"I'm going to take a better look."

Surely, if it was dangerous, it would have attacked them already, right? And, so far, nothing had leaped out to try and kill them. It had to be safe. Didn't it?

Silence fell over the comms as he slipped over the top of one building, landing lightly in its shadow, as he approached the faint signal. It still hadn't moved. In fact, it seemed as if it were coming from--

"I found something!" his voice broke over the radios, suddenly panicked. "Rewind!"

"I have something."

The message wasn't all clear and it worried Blurr. He quickly turned to try and locate Kagerou. It was never an easy task, mostly always impossible due to the ninja robot abilities of his comrade.

"Wait! Kagerou it could be risky to go alone..." Somehow, Blurr knew the other was not going to listen. The next scream made it even more clear and he rushed to the robot's side. "Rewind? But what is he doing here? is he alive?"

Kagerou's message was concerning enough. Whatever he found, it was in Tarn's territory so obviously that meant bad news. The assertion that it was Rewind only confirmed his worries.

He tried contacting Blur and the others, "Someone go get to Kagerou. I'll try to keep you guys covered."

The cyborg prepared his weapon hand, slowly sweeping the area back towards everyone else.
