A formal dance.
WHERE: The Atrium, Haven's Hub.
WHEN: Today! The dance will go on from the late afternoon until the early hours of the morning.
WHAT: Have your top hat and cane? This is a formal ball. The origination is a drunken Vandal and battle-worn Saber.
WARNINGS: Could be anything from bar fights to drunken swearing to people tripping over their own feet or people making out in a corner.
The Atrium will have its doors open in the late evening. For the first two hours, Vandal and Drift will be acting as receptionist and bouncer. After that, the doors close. At the reception desk, you will be required to sign your name and also hand over any weapons that you are carrying. (Within the building there is an inhibitor placed. No one will be able to use any weaponry on their person.) The Atrium is decorated in royal purple and black, with accents of white and pearl. The decorations are standard fair for a ball. There's hanging draperies, table clothes, and colored lighting. Towards the outside of the circular Atrium, everyone will be under a glowing white light. Towards the middle of the dance floor, there is a much softer lavender that illuminates the immediate area. Vandal and Saber organized and planned, and then helped with decorations. They will also be over seeing the event throughout the entire night. Vandal will be handling the reception desk and registration. We have Frenzy as our DJ in the Atrium, and Miko will be playing electric guitar for those who decide to visit the bar. Saber, Ironhide, and McCrane will be acting as security. They would be the best to contact should you have any.. safety concerns. Our bouncer, Drift, will be "on call" for security once his primary assignment is done. Kay organized and lead the decorating, and Ravage and McCrane helped with placing them. Melan and Joe gathered needed materials. Skidaddle is the one to blame for having the supply of available hats at the doors for any Cybertronian who tries to get past the one piece of attire rule. Feel free to post in any sub-forum area you think your character would be present in (with or without an opening post), or merely tag others. Prose or action-spam is okay (and you may want to include this in your initial posts if you want others to tag you). Bonus: include links to garments your character may be wearing. This is entirely up to you! Have fun! Make sure to add your character to the tags! (That's the registry.) |

Smokescreen | Either or~
He needed to be social though, Smokescreen knew that, so he'd gone, snagging a hat at the front door and slipped inside.
Twirling said head piece around on his hand a bit he made his way over to the walls and just leaned back against one of them, content to just chill there for the time being.
Maybe he'd dance. Maybe.

"Hey, kid. Good to see ya out and about." He gives the younger bot a smile and reaches to try and clap him on the shoulder when he gets close enough.
no subject
For now.
"Hey, Bulk. Figured I should make an appearance so no one started thinking I was dead or anything like that," he mused, doorwings twitching. "Enjoying yourself, big guy?"
no subject
"Hey, I know what temple yer in. Don't make me start goin' over and draggin' you out." He teases some. Sound slightly familiar, Smokescreen? "Yeah. Not great at dancin', but the high grade's nice, plus the music."

He looks back to the dance floor, focusing on said shuffling human. "Yeah, I might try. It doesn't look too hard. Maybe see if I can drag Jackie out there too." He looks thoughtful for a moment.
no subject
And figure out what the hell he was doing. A part of him really wanted to talk to Alpha Trion about all of this but he knew the other had more important things to worry about.
"You should~ Show us all how Wreckers do this party thing~"
no subject
"I dunno, Jackie isn't much for parties. Much less dancin'. It'll be tricky."
no subject
Needless to say, Smokescreen was always going to be a loyal friend to Bulkhead, that was for damn sure.
"That's what high grade's for."

Sideswipe isn't a stealth unit by any stretch of the imagination, but he does his best to creep up on the other Autobot. He prefers to make an entrance, after all. And what better way to do it than to sneak up on your intended quarry?
Once he's close enough, he throws his arms around one of Smokescreen's, leaning against the other body with a purr.
"Well, hello."
...
He may have had a few to drink already. Sorry, Smokescreen.
no subject
Well hello to you too, Sideswipe.
"Handsome. I was wondering where you were," he mused and it was partly true. He had been keeping an optic out for the attractive mech. Lucky for him, the other had come to him.
Even if he was already ahead on drinks.

He shifts a little, and the panels on his back seem to flutter. It was true. He'd polished himself to a near mirror-shine all over. Anything to earn some well-deserved attention.
One arm drapes around Smokescreen's shoulders. "Why are you hiding?"
no subject
Seemed like a likely possibility, especially with those wheeled feet the other has.
"I'm not hiding. Just chilling out here is all."
No, he's hiding. He just doesn't want to admit it.
no subject
He leans in, as if to speak a secret just to Smokescreen. His grin is broad, and more than a little flirtatious. Hands trail down the other 'bot's arm, wrapping loosely around his wrist, and giving a little tug.
"Why don't we go somewhere more... illuminated?"
Don't worry about those wheels. He's got balance systems to put cats to shame.
"Then you'll have no problem warming up, mm?"
no subject
How can he say no to such a handsome bot?
"Don't think I will, no," he mused, smirking lazily at the other as his engine gives another little rev.
no subject
Even when they skate out onto the dancefloor. He pulls back slightly, his hand still on Smokescreen's. The music is still going, and he shifts from side to side in time, letting the lights play over his armor.
"Damn right you won't."

Look at you. You're on a roll.
no subject
[He huffs a bit but it's all in good fun, the rookie grinning at Arcee after a moment.]
Having a good time?
no subject
Eventually, he lifts a hand, waving to him.
If the young 'bot wishes to stick it out alone, there's no sense in pressuring him. Simply, he wants him to know he's present.
Just in case.
no subject
Lingering where he was for a moment more, Smokescreen finally pushed away from the wall and made his way over to the scientist--carefully avoiding the dancefloor--grinning faintly at the older bot when he reaches his side.
"Hey, notdad. Didn't think I'd see you here."
no subject
"A new experiment, of sorts," he says, blithely ignoring the fact there's an empty cube perched on the table in front of him, contradicting his statement. "Social gatherings are always rife with potential observations."
He looks over at Smokescreen, and his head tilts. "Good to see you out and about as well."
no subject
He could be wrong though.
"Everyone keeps saying that..I wasn't sticking to the temple for that long," he murmured rather sheepishly like actually, rubbing the back of his neck a bit.
no subject
"Regardless," he went on. "Your message to the network rather implied you'd hole up there for quite some time. I'm pleased to see things are otherwise."
no subject
That was still something he was working on admitting outloud though.
"So you going to dance at all, notdad~" Smokescreen asked teasingly, trying to lighten the mood again.
no subject
Maybe that was some sort of indication of progress. If Smokescreen was getting advice from someone he believed disliked him... did that mean he was finding his way? Or something along those lines?
A scoff, and Perceptor shook his head. "I have no desire to wave my backside about in the middle of a crowd," he said, sounding incredibly prim.
