OPENING LOG: Awakening
WHO: Everybody!
WHERE: The Junk Pile.
WHEN: Right here, right now.
WHAT: Game opening! Our Heroes find themselves in a strange place not of their own world, however familiar (or not) it may be.
Consciousness is slow, and a struggle to obtain. The moments before darkness are hazy enough; a great vertigo, a twisting, and then, falling. Falling for what seemed like forever. And when you are finally aware of your surroundings, it is most decidedly not where you came from.
Instead, you are now in what appears to be a wasteland. A wasteland...of junk. Debris as far as you can see, heaped in mini-mountains that offer only so good of a view of the world around you. Perhaps in the distance, you can make out some flatter land, perhaps you can just make out what looks like a crevice - but it's difficult at best. The light here is all wrong, the two greatest sources being a white line in the alien sky that doesn't so much give off light as simply have it - and something in the south that glows like a setting sun.
You may or may not notice it at first, but you, too, have something alien - something on your arm, more likely than not. A marking that glows softly, but offers no clue as to how it got there - no pain, no sensitivity. It's simply there, as you are here.
So.
Now what?
((OOC: This is it, you guys! Have a blast! Please remember to keep everything under the first thread for now; we'll be adding the Firstforged in in a little bit...
OKAY There is now a second thread to post in! Feel free to make new threads there to react to the arrival of the Firstforged, or respond directly to the Firstforged themselves.))

Solus kneels down slowly, a small smile in place.
"Greetings. We mean you no harm." It's spoken in Cybertronian for now, but their language modules only need a little data to translate. If she can prompt a response from him, all the better.
no subject
The other bot speaks, not in English or the confused jumble that Japanese has been sounding like. Something decidedly, completely foreign. But the smile suggests it's nothing bad, at least. While he can't respond verbally, Noisy Boy can still respond, cocking his head with a low whine of gears - a question.

He was obviously curious, if...quiet. Flicking her optics across his frame, she couldn't help but notice a number of...irregularities, even for the incredibly varied beings they had received in the past. He appeared superficially like one of their own kind, but lacked various details.
Like hands and fingers, for one. And a vocalizer, not that she had scanned him deeply enough yet to discover this for herself.
"A pity you can't yet understand me yet...and you bear the mark of my brother."
Technically, it was up to Vector to supply his Marked with their tools. But he wasn't here, and if the being did not speak up, she could not translate without their communicators.
Perhaps she could extrapolate from the glyphs across his frame and learn.
no subject
He's been under more scrutiny than usual since arriving here. Noisy Boy finally decides that, if others are going to keep doing that to him, it's only fair that he returns the gesture. He may not have scanning equipment, true, but he has optics. This bot is certainly big enough to look over... in part. Not like him, obviously - no bot this tall could enter League matches, or Underground ones either for that matter. But similar designs between all of the larger ones suggested the same designer, if not manufacturer. They are siblings, in the same way that he and Zeus were brothers.
All of the lettering across his frame is Japanese; the kanji across his torso indicating his name. The LED screens on his arms flicker through other kanji, mostly more threatening terms: pain, oblivion, the end... but also nirvana.

Though she was not the one among her kin who explored distant stars and worlds, she was aware of the various forms of life already taking root in the young universe. The small mechanoid in front of her may not speak - but the blinking lights in it's odd arms might well be it's usual form of communication.
The blinking kanji are enough to jump start her translation programs - they appear to be the written form of a language they have encountered before. But even then, she frowns, as the words only seem to be unrelated phrases.
A threat? Or something more? Time to find out.
Solus activated her own holoimaging program, blinking out the corresponding kanji in the air, matching the yellow in Noisy Boy's arms as she spoke out loud in fluent Japanese.
"...Do you understand me?"

It's caught somewhere in his processor, in that space where it's close but not close enough. Normally it wasn't much of a problem for him, unless his handler was talking to reporters in whatever language he wasn't set to. But here... here it's an issue. Somehow.
At the very least it perks Noisy Boy up slightly, thought the activation of the holograms startles him back a step. Even if he doesn't recognize other kanji at the moment... he's heard the ones on him discussed before enough to know them. He watches them for a few moments, before raising his arm and pointing to one, looking up at the huge bot with a slight tilt to his head.
'Sanctuary'.
He doesn't understand your speech, but somewhere safe to collect his thoughts would be welcome. He's not going to locate any other bots like him or his handlers in the state he's in now.
no subject
Still, it was something. 'Sanctuary.' He could mean in any number of ways.
"Hmm. You are safe here, with us. Even if it not somewhere you wish to be. And you can come to one of our havens soon." Even if he did not seem to understand her properly, she spoke out soothingly, controlling her own frustration well.
Even so, that didn't stop her from opening a communication line to her brother.
//Vector. I have one of your Marked here. He does not appear to understand when I speak however, despite my attempts. Nor does he speak in turn. Would you care to come and assist, or shall I provide him with a communicator myself?//
It was only a mild, somewhat teasing threat. Sometimes she might claim the interesting arrivals for herself, wearing her glyphs or not. Despite Noisy Boy's intriguing design, he wasn't interesting enough to offset the frustration she might feel if forced to forever communicate in lights and simple words. Vector it was.

Not understanding the words attached to the tone is... frustrating at best. His pistons whine for a moment as he considers. If only he'd had his crate with him. Or Bailey. Something. But he got stuck in a pile of junk that makes Metal Valley look like a mole hill inst-
Wait.
Noisy Boy considers the junk for a moment, and then his forearms. They aren't overly dextrous, but he can manage something. He pauses to wag one forearm at the giant - 'wait just a minute while I do something' - and starts moving pieces of junk around as carefully as he can with his forearms.
While the penmanship is atrocious, he still manages to spell out ENGLISH in English. If his Kanji could reset the bot's language center that easily, maybe this can too?
no subject
Once or twice, Solus had 'claimed' one of his own, and while he wasn't quite the type to get angry over that - not like some of their other siblings - he had been...concerned. He'd settle with that word. Each of them had their own clearly marked, however few or great they were, and if they so decided to choose differently-
-well, that was something entirely different from being taken back when their own Firstforged was already there.
Vector changed his angle, easily spotting Solus on his sensors - it wouldn't take long for him to get there. Not even a minute later he was coming out of the sky, not-quite-landing a short distance in front of her.
"Solus."
no subject
By the time Vector arrives, he will find Solus crouched down, examining the makeshift lettering in the junk. She doesn't even look up when he arrives, waving a hand in his direction before turning to smile dryly at the little mech.
"Well. That one way to go about it. English it is?" It's spoken in English, and if this doesn't prompt some sort of response - verbal or not - from the purple mechanoid, she'll probably eat her hammer.
If she doesn't smash something with it, first.
no subject
... Though he hopes he won't be stuck spelling things out on this pile forever. He taps his throat and shakes his head slightly - he can't speak, or he wouldn't have had to resort to this. There was no other way to go about this, for him.
There is the fact that the giant apparently called for backup that he has to deal with now, however. And this one clearly has illegal upgrades on it. Bots aren't supposed to fly. Bots aren't suppoed to be this big, either. He takes a couple steps back.
and then vector was olde english!
But he speaks that 'English' language. There's so many of them...
"Well met," Vector says slowly, nodding his head in greeting. "We mean thee no harm."
Oho
...Clearly her brother's language files are of a different dialect than her own, but that is alright.
"I don't believe he can speak, at least not in the conventional sense" she directs at Vector, before giving the tiny fighter a glance.
"Correct?"
vector, you're so 1600s~
Not all boxers are the most pleasant out of the ring, after all, and these. Are a lot bigger than any of the other boxing bots he's met.
He looks back to the first one, and nods again. Got it right again.
why not man. AND I'M PROBABLY MUTILATING THE DIALECT FOR ALL OF MY RESEARCH I'M SORRY.
He looks from Solus to the other mech, taking in this information. And...the other language written upon the mech as well. He's a small one, oddly-shaped - perhaps not even Cybertronian. But then, time has taught Vector that such come in all shapes and forms - this would not be the oddest one he'd seen.
"Then it is well we have tools," he declares, reaching in to his armor. He'd need a smaller one... "Pray, a moment...ah."
He pulls out a small device, kneeling down to offer it towards the Refugee.
"This will be of great help to thee."
ROBOTS MAN. I DON'T MIND
"That should do you well, despite your...vocalization issues. Vector is your patron, and will treat you well."
She gave her brother a wry glance, switching to Cybertronian over their private lines.
//You may have to aid him further, if he lacks dexterity in those odd hands of his. I don't even know if he can plug himself in.//
Odd Noisy Boy was, but she wasn't about to insult him by suggesting his 'species' might be lacking in such a fundamental way.
Not out loud, at least.
IT'S ALL GOOD. ROBOTS DO WHAT THEY WANT.
That's a worry for later though. He'd been fully charged when he arrived and hadn't done anything overly strenuous to run his battery down.
Noisy, at something of a loss of how to take the device, presses his forearms together and holds them out. Though he does tilt his head slight, pistons whining. What is it?
WOOO
And there's the mech agreeing with it, in his own way - after a moment, Vector (slowly) starts to reach for him, clearly intending on taking matters in to his own hands.
Literally.
//My thanks, Solus; I won't ask you to stay.//
If she wants to, that's entirely different, but there's no doubt that she has her own matters to attend to.
/bows out~
"That should assist you in communicating with the others here, once Vector has assisted you with linking it to your systems. You should fare well, and perhaps I will hear from you soon."
She nods.
//I haven't much idea yet, though I have suspicions. Do let me know what you find out, brother. My curiosity has been roused with this one.//
Chuckling quietly, she departs, leaving Noisy Boy to Vector's care.
/waves to
For the moment it has to wait. Because that is a large hand, headed straight for him. He knows Vector said they weren't interested in harming him, and he's hardly the sort to be really afraid.
But he can't help a twinge of worry, even as he holds still.
♥! ALSO JAYDE IF THIS WON'T WORK, I CAN EDIT IT IF YOU POKE ME BEFORE YOU TAG BACK.
Not a proper installation, but an Acolyte can finalize it. This, hopefully, will at least allow them to communicate properly.
THIS WORKS FOR ME JUST FINE ♥
He's never had the opportunity to talk before, in any way but with motion and the sound of his own gears and pistons. He's not sure what to do with it first.
no subject
"Try to communicate," he suggests. "It will serve as thy vocalizer, for now, should thou instructest too - think of it as another appendage."
It'll take some doing, no doubt, but once he gets the hang of it...
no subject
Vocalizers have been mentioned several times to him. Mostly in reference to him not having one - or having a broken one, which was odd. He's not sure how that would work, exactly.
But something else... Noisy Boy automatically and constantly streams data to his diagnostics screen about his current state. Maybe if he can send something like that out.
He manages to send out a short burst transmission. It's not speech but text: I am not accustomed to this.
