OPENING LOG: Awakening
WHO: Everybody!
WHERE: The Junk Pile.
WHEN: Right here, right now.
WHAT: Game opening! Our Heroes find themselves in a strange place not of their own world, however familiar (or not) it may be.
Consciousness is slow, and a struggle to obtain. The moments before darkness are hazy enough; a great vertigo, a twisting, and then, falling. Falling for what seemed like forever. And when you are finally aware of your surroundings, it is most decidedly not where you came from.
Instead, you are now in what appears to be a wasteland. A wasteland...of junk. Debris as far as you can see, heaped in mini-mountains that offer only so good of a view of the world around you. Perhaps in the distance, you can make out some flatter land, perhaps you can just make out what looks like a crevice - but it's difficult at best. The light here is all wrong, the two greatest sources being a white line in the alien sky that doesn't so much give off light as simply have it - and something in the south that glows like a setting sun.
You may or may not notice it at first, but you, too, have something alien - something on your arm, more likely than not. A marking that glows softly, but offers no clue as to how it got there - no pain, no sensitivity. It's simply there, as you are here.
So.
Now what?
((OOC: This is it, you guys! Have a blast! Please remember to keep everything under the first thread for now; we'll be adding the Firstforged in in a little bit...
OKAY There is now a second thread to post in! Feel free to make new threads there to react to the arrival of the Firstforged, or respond directly to the Firstforged themselves.))

More important than that... there were humans. Living ones. Breathing ones. Four was not distrustful by nature, but he was cautious. He kept that in mind as he spied a human child as he was scuttling from one cover to the next. It was a terrifying feeling to be torn between his instinct to survive, and his desire to inspect and catalogue everything he came across. On the one hand, this human could be dangerous, on the other... he was a human.
Humans died off years ago, Four knew because he had seen it, and he remembered it so well. Their bodies littered the streets, and Four had plenty of time to examine them at his own leisure. He wanted to run up to the child and check to see FOR SURE that he was actually there. The world Four lived in was dead and barren, no life existed there, not even plants. To finally see life with his very own optics? This was a gift he never would have imagined for himself, if only Three were here.
He hid behind a chunk of metal, watching everything this human did, and trying not to draw any attention to himself.

"I can't believe it! My laptop, here!"
There was his login and everything, and- from what he could tell, all the files were current. The battery was only about half, but the fact that it was here at all was astounding. Especially no worse for the wear.
It was practically in better condition than he was.

Curiosity finally triumphed over caution, and Four crept closer, trying to stay out of sight, but trying to keep Raf in sight at the same time. When he was a mere five feet away, he finally stopped, tiny optics peering at the child over a chunk of metal. His eyes flicker and click, sounding much like a camera shutter. If Raf were to notice it and glance over to the right a bit, he may be able to spot his little spy.

...sight.
That was an awfully small mech. His start of surprise was aborted for simply peering at the little figure.
"Uh...hi?"

Slowly he scuttled out from behind the piece of junk he had been hiding behind, and took a few steps in Raf's direction, his body language similar to that of a curious, but wary animal. His eyes click again as he stops out of reach from the human, and balanced on his toes as if this could somehow get him closer... without actually getting any closer.
Curious...

Unless it was hiding a maw of sharp teeth and happened to eat metal, Raf couldn't see any reason to try and scare it.
He carefully lowered the laptop back on his lap, offering what he hoped was a reassuring smile. "Hey there, little guy. I'm not gonna hurt you..."
no subject
So he took a few steps closer, tilting his head side to side as if trying to figure Raf out. Maybe if he got close enough, he could examine the human?
no subject
To say Raf was curious as well was an understatement.
After a moment, he slowly lowered a hand to the ground, palm open. You could climb on him, if you wanted...
