OPENING LOG: Awakening

WHO: Everybody!
WHERE: The Junk Pile.
WHEN: Right here, right now.
WHAT: Game opening! Our Heroes find themselves in a strange place not of their own world, however familiar (or not) it may be.

Consciousness is slow, and a struggle to obtain. The moments before darkness are hazy enough; a great vertigo, a twisting, and then, falling. Falling for what seemed like forever. And when you are finally aware of your surroundings, it is most decidedly not where you came from.

Instead, you are now in what appears to be a wasteland. A wasteland...of junk. Debris as far as you can see, heaped in mini-mountains that offer only so good of a view of the world around you. Perhaps in the distance, you can make out some flatter land, perhaps you can just make out what looks like a crevice - but it's difficult at best. The light here is all wrong, the two greatest sources being a white line in the alien sky that doesn't so much give off light as simply have it - and something in the south that glows like a setting sun.

You may or may not notice it at first, but you, too, have something alien - something on your arm, more likely than not. A marking that glows softly, but offers no clue as to how it got there - no pain, no sensitivity. It's simply there, as you are here.

So.

Now what?

((OOC: This is it, you guys! Have a blast! Please remember to keep everything under the first thread for now; we'll be adding the Firstforged in in a little bit...

OKAY There is now a second thread to post in! Feel free to make new threads there to react to the arrival of the Firstforged, or respond directly to the Firstforged themselves.))

"Wait.."

Wheeljack thought about this. Surprisingly, he could be a deep thinker if he put his mind to it. His eyes look back up at her, tilting slightly as if to see her better.

"You sayin...I could be in the past? On a different Cybertron?"

"That is quite likely the answer." Solus smiled easily, showing teeth.

"Unless you somehow come from a point in time before the very foundations for your world and culture were laid by your Forebearers?"

Amusing and unlikely indeed.
wheeljackofalltrades: (Don't call me sparky)

...

"Ya got a point."

That smile was slightly nerve-wracking, but at the same time, he didn't mind it. At least this one had a sense of humor.

"So why are we here? And who are ya?"

"The reasons you are here are not entirely known, not even to us. We do know it is likely nothing less than Primus himself who is responsible. Presumably, it is to assist us with the building of Cybertron itself. That is why you - and all the others recently arrived - were marked with one of our symbols."

She gestures down to Wheeljack's armor, where her glyph glows.

"You bear my own mark - that of Solus Prime. And you are?"
wheeljackofalltrades: (You don't mean-)

Wait, did you say Primus himself? Building Cybertron?

...That was definitely new. Wheeljack's optics widened, almost in awe, at the words that came from her mouth.

"Solus Prime?...THE Solus Prime?"

Sorry, give him a moment, he's rather dumbstruck by this turn of events.

"Name's Wheeljack. It's...It's a privilege."

"It is good to meet you, Wheeljack." She pauses for a moment, before raising an optic ridge in vague curiosity.

"'The' Solus Prime? I find it rare for my name to be carried on through history, at least when compared with my more...notorious brothers. Intriguing."

She shrugs, unwilling to press for stories about herself. She's not vain enough to need it.

"More to the point, while you are here, my mark grants you my assistance, as well as refuge in my temple. In return, you assist me with my own tasks. You are, of course, free to venture elsewhere, but... This is a young world, and you are here for a reason. Even if it is not yet known."
wheeljackofalltrades: (Aw c'mon Doc)

Wheeljack seems rather sheepish. No matter how you look at it, talking to one of the Thirteen was pretty astounding. And here he was chatting up Solus Prime like it was nothing.

"Some comrades of mine recently found somethin' that belongs to you back home. Some kind of hammer. You're known for being a master artificer."

The next part, however, piques his interest.

"Your temple, huh? That's pretty generous of you. Don't really mind assistin' ya either, if you live up to the legend ya have back home."

"Well. We shall have to see about those 'legends'."

She gives Wheeljack a nod, almost chuckling, before eagerly switching subjects.

"My forge hammer, or another?" She visibly perked at the mention of it, torn between morbid curiosity and...irritation that it may have fallen out of her possession.

"I have several hammering tools. But only one is truly mine in all the ways that matter." Most were not forged along with her.

"I trust it was some sort of 'relic' by your time?" So surreal. But if she wasn't dead and gone and instead somehow lost her hammer while alive, heads would have rolled.
