OPENING LOG: Awakening
WHO: Everybody!
WHERE: The Junk Pile.
WHEN: Right here, right now.
WHAT: Game opening! Our Heroes find themselves in a strange place not of their own world, however familiar (or not) it may be.
Consciousness is slow, and a struggle to obtain. The moments before darkness are hazy enough; a great vertigo, a twisting, and then, falling. Falling for what seemed like forever. And when you are finally aware of your surroundings, it is most decidedly not where you came from.
Instead, you are now in what appears to be a wasteland. A wasteland...of junk. Debris as far as you can see, heaped in mini-mountains that offer only so good of a view of the world around you. Perhaps in the distance, you can make out some flatter land, perhaps you can just make out what looks like a crevice - but it's difficult at best. The light here is all wrong, the two greatest sources being a white line in the alien sky that doesn't so much give off light as simply have it - and something in the south that glows like a setting sun.
You may or may not notice it at first, but you, too, have something alien - something on your arm, more likely than not. A marking that glows softly, but offers no clue as to how it got there - no pain, no sensitivity. It's simply there, as you are here.
So.
Now what?
((OOC: This is it, you guys! Have a blast! Please remember to keep everything under the first thread for now; we'll be adding the Firstforged in in a little bit...
OKAY There is now a second thread to post in! Feel free to make new threads there to react to the arrival of the Firstforged, or respond directly to the Firstforged themselves.))

He made a note to give more specific orders to his in the future. This shouldn't happen again. It was clear that the Lambda wasn't done with them, yet, nor the forces that warred beyond it.
Used to seeing Refugees of all sizes, Prima split his attention between high and low as he hiked forwards, careful of his step as to not crush any of the smaller ones. But for the moment, he seemed oblivious of the human sheltering under cover not far from him - there was a light in the distance that had caught his attention, and he paused to regard it and try and tell if another sibling had seen it yet.

Korra felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. Was someone watching her?
She hesitantly turned around, fire still in her hand, her eyes searching.
no subject
...that said, feel free for Korra to either understand/not understand what Prima says down there. :) ))
-and there was another light.
Prima turned in surprise, looking down at the red flame that had caught his attention - and then to the creature holding it. Organic, his processor was quick to identify - human followed after another astrosecond. Though he'd never seen one wielding a flame like a weapon.
For a moment, he simply stared down at them, tilting his head as his silver optics focused on the form.
"...hello."
Prima had chosen one of the languages he knew to be associated with humans, but there was no way to tell if it was the right one until they spoke...
no subject
This one was larger than Knock Out. But Korra felt a sense of deja vu--it was speaking a language she didn't get, but she recognized it as something Knock Out had tried speaking before when trying to communicate with her.
Korra shook her head, trying to convey she didn't understand.
Then she snapped her flames out, and began to earthbend characters into the dirt, saying, 'Hello, do you understand this?'
no subject
Nothing. Yet. Because she was already manipulating the flame, to a degree that had Prima's optics brightening subtly in surprise. That took skill - skill she seemed to have in abundance.
Especially to scribe characters. He recognized it as a language easily enough, it was only a matter of placing which language. He knelt down to get a better look, placing a hand on the 'ground' to steady himself before it clicked - and he nodded, switching his files.
"I do. Can you understand me now?" he asked, seeking confirmation he'd matched it properly.
no subject
Korra stopped, and the earth stopped moving to her will, when the super tall figure spoke.
She nodded up at him. "Yeah, I hear you loud and clear."
Then she bowed, trying for formality. "I'm Korra, great spirit. What may I call you?"
no subject
"I am Prima," he answered. "Welcome to Cybertron, Korra, though I regret it is not under more...controlled circumstances."
Mind the mess.
no subject
Korra felt on edge when Prima mentioned his 'regret' and 'less-than-controlled-circumstances.'
Finally she worked up the nerve to ask, "Is this even the Spirit World? I--I thought I was in the Spirit World."
no subject
She answered herself, but Prima confirmed it by shaking his head.
"This world is not yet even born, young one. You come to it as we prepare it for its waking, while a dark force seeks to stop us."
no subject
Korra tried to figure out what to ask first. It came out in a rush.
"What am I doing here? How did I get here? How do I get back home?"
She took another breath, and continued. "So, this is...another world...do you have an Avatar? Something that embodies the world's spirit or something? What 'dark force?' How is it gonna stop you? Is it trying to...kill you?"
Korra shook her head, and insisted. "I need to get home." She shook her head. "I need to get home, it's in trouble too, I can't leave everyone when everything's about to go to hell--"
She burst out, "How did I even end up here, I don't--last time I remember was being kidnapped, and being told I'd never see Republic City again! No way my kidnapper ditched me here!"
no subject
"Please, Korra. I will answer you as best that I can, but it may be better for me to start from the beginning, if you would care to hear my story."
It may answer questions she had not even asked yet.
no subject
"Yeah, that'd be great--thank you, Prima."
And Korra waited, listening.
insert cutscene here
"My brothers and I were crafted by the hand of the God Primus, to serve as his Firstforged and his Original creations. More than that - we were to serve as his soldiers against his opposite, Unicron, the Chaosbringer. But rather than oppose him directly, Prima directed us to this planet, to prepare it for his arrival and eventual inhabitation. It is his goal to eventually dwell within its core, and from there seed further life."
Prima paused, briefly, to give her time to process that - then continued.
"To assist us, Prima left us to our task, and made to keep Unicron's attention. However, as we were drawing near to the end of our work, Unicron's attention fell upon us - and he split the sky."
A gesture upwards, to the white line across the stars.
"The Lambda, as we call it, is the product of his interference - with Prima's hand, he cannot stop us directly, so he sends beasts and monsters to challenge and thwart us. But Prima also aids us - look upon your shoulder, young one, and tell me what you see."
He had already noticed it - a black marking. Were it not for his familiarity with them, he might have brushed it off as a meaningless pattern...
Re: insert cutscene here
Despite Prima's attempts to let her absorb information, Korra's head still felt like it was about to explode.
In a shocked daze, she easily went along with Prima's direction, looking at the strange black character on her arm.
"What does it mean? I haven't been able to figure it out."
Korra looked back up to Prima. "I've met others too, but they had different characters on their bodies. What do theirs mean?"
Re: insert cutscene here
"They mark you as something other than Unicron's," Prima answered. "They are a sign that you are not his, and whether or not Primus had a hand in your arrival, they are a sign of our own responsibility towards you. Each symbol represents one of us - and each symbol binds us to you.
"Yours is the Glyph of Megatronus Prime."
Re: insert cutscene here
"'Responsibility?' Would that happen to include sending us back home?"
no subject
A pause.
"Until such a time as we can restore all things in their place, you may at least find shelter with us."
no subject
But he sounded reasonable. He couldn't abandon his own home.
Still....
"Shelter, and, what, are you gonna draft us into defending your home, too?"
no subject
"We cannot force you to fight for us," Prima pointed out, "though my siblings may have their own attitudes on the matter."
Megatronus especially. But - on the thought of Megatronus. Perhaps Korra would respond to another route...
"We can, however, grant power to those who assist us. It may serve you well."
no subject
"Assist you? How?"
She shook her head. "I just need to go home, I don't need pow--"
Well, she did need to learn airbending. And get in touch with her spirituality and access the Avatar State.
"...are they like new sorts of powers?"
no subject
As for the powers...
Was that a subtle smile on his face?
"Unless something like us dwells within your own world...then yes."
He lowered his hand, curling his fingers slightly. Above it formed a small sphere, glowing white and growing larger by the moment, until it stopped at nearly the size of Korra herself.
no subject
Korra flinched but tried to hold her ground, and not to summon up her own warning flame. Prima had been kind, and it didn't seem like an attack, just a demonstration.
"Is that...is that fire? Like a super white hot one or--?"
It didn't really look like fire, it looked like--energy. White energy. Didn't the stories say Avatar Aang's tattoos and eyes would glow white when he entered the Avatar State.
"--or is that--is that the Avatar--"
Korra shook her head.
"I doubt you've ever heard of it, but this sorta looks like something even I've only heard off--the Avatar State, where all the powers of the previous Avatars are used."
Korra shook her head again, kept her hands fisted at her side, though she was tempted to reach out and touch.
"What is it?"
She sensed nothing within that she could bend. So definitely not fire.
