OPENING LOG: Awakening
WHO: Everybody!
WHERE: The Junk Pile.
WHEN: Right here, right now.
WHAT: Game opening! Our Heroes find themselves in a strange place not of their own world, however familiar (or not) it may be.
Consciousness is slow, and a struggle to obtain. The moments before darkness are hazy enough; a great vertigo, a twisting, and then, falling. Falling for what seemed like forever. And when you are finally aware of your surroundings, it is most decidedly not where you came from.
Instead, you are now in what appears to be a wasteland. A wasteland...of junk. Debris as far as you can see, heaped in mini-mountains that offer only so good of a view of the world around you. Perhaps in the distance, you can make out some flatter land, perhaps you can just make out what looks like a crevice - but it's difficult at best. The light here is all wrong, the two greatest sources being a white line in the alien sky that doesn't so much give off light as simply have it - and something in the south that glows like a setting sun.
You may or may not notice it at first, but you, too, have something alien - something on your arm, more likely than not. A marking that glows softly, but offers no clue as to how it got there - no pain, no sensitivity. It's simply there, as you are here.
So.
Now what?
((OOC: This is it, you guys! Have a blast! Please remember to keep everything under the first thread for now; we'll be adding the Firstforged in in a little bit...
OKAY There is now a second thread to post in! Feel free to make new threads there to react to the arrival of the Firstforged, or respond directly to the Firstforged themselves.))

Re: AWAKENING
"Do not get too close to me," he warned. "I am infected with the Red Rust plague." The plague he had invented himself, but no need to tell that to random helpful strangers. Especially since that was exactly whom he was going to be relying on for a while now.
"I must get to a clinic. Do you know this area well?"
Re: AWAKENING
Wing froze at the word 'plague'. That...was not good. Nothing but bad in fact. On the brighter side of things at least this mech was a medic, whom was certainly better equipped to address the situation than he. Well--Wing considered the state of the medic's hands--from an intellectual standpoint at least.
A medic without his hands. It was a terrible thought, and he flexed his own in sympathy. From the look of the damage, the clean and consistent terminations, it was an extremely sharp object that severed those hands.
"Who did this to you?" Wing breathed.
"A clinic?" Wing asked, his tone a touch disheartening. "I'm sorry but I've only been here a short time. Beyond telling you that this--" He gestured to the junk pile surrounding them, "--stretches for kliks on all directions, I can't say much."
Wing knew that wasn't much help. They could start walking but without knowing a direction it was hard to say where. He really needed more information.
"I can scout from the air. It's a risk but I'll take it. Perhaps there's some signs of life elsewhere or at least shelter. Or maybe I'll find someone who knows more."
Re: AWAKENING
Pharma considered his answer very carefully. "A maniac with a sword," he replied, making a chopping motion with his good arm. "I am at a huge disadvantage without them, as you can see."
The medic frowned. Nothing but junk for miles? That...was not very promising. If he did not find the materials needed to reconstruct the antidote he would suffer the same fate he had engineered for the residents of the Delphi clinic. Unacceptable.
"Yes, go. Quickly," he agreed, holding back a small shudder. His other optic was beginning to flood now as well, red liquid trailing down both cheeks.
Re: AWAKENING
"Is this 'maniac' around here? Those wounds look recent."
Wing scanned the area again with a keener eye, searching for signs of enemies or combat that he might have missed.
"If you think you'll be safe here on your own, then yes, I will go and find what help I can."
Re: AWAKENING
"That, I cannot determine. I have only been here for a brief time myself and have not been able to do much exploring for obvious reasons," he replied with a shrug. "As for my safety? Again, who knows? But I would rather have a chance at survival then sit here and die in 'safety'."
Re: AWAKENING
Wing set a marker for this location in his HUD and jogged away, putting some distance between him and the medic before leaping into the air and transforming in a somersault of shifting metal. The stark white of the jet's peregrine form stood out against the twilight sky as he blasted away in search of aid.
