OPENING LOG: Awakening

WHO: Everybody!
WHERE: The Junk Pile.
WHEN: Right here, right now.
WHAT: Game opening! Our Heroes find themselves in a strange place not of their own world, however familiar (or not) it may be.

Consciousness is slow, and a struggle to obtain. The moments before darkness are hazy enough; a great vertigo, a twisting, and then, falling. Falling for what seemed like forever. And when you are finally aware of your surroundings, it is most decidedly not where you came from.

Instead, you are now in what appears to be a wasteland. A wasteland...of junk. Debris as far as you can see, heaped in mini-mountains that offer only so good of a view of the world around you. Perhaps in the distance, you can make out some flatter land, perhaps you can just make out what looks like a crevice - but it's difficult at best. The light here is all wrong, the two greatest sources being a white line in the alien sky that doesn't so much give off light as simply have it - and something in the south that glows like a setting sun.

You may or may not notice it at first, but you, too, have something alien - something on your arm, more likely than not. A marking that glows softly, but offers no clue as to how it got there - no pain, no sensitivity. It's simply there, as you are here.

So.

Now what?

((OOC: This is it, you guys! Have a blast! Please remember to keep everything under the first thread for now; we'll be adding the Firstforged in in a little bit...

OKAY There is now a second thread to post in! Feel free to make new threads there to react to the arrival of the Firstforged, or respond directly to the Firstforged themselves.))

Oh, a feminine voice. That was unexpected. Breakdown took a step back to give her some space.

"Heh, pardon me for noticing," He smiled. Using pardon may or may not have been in response to her use of "one." She was a fancy mech!

Breakdown started taking in more details on her form. No idea what her altmode was. She didn't have any obvious bot brand, but she didn't remind him of any female cons he knew. Plus, if she were a bot, she'd have knocked him out three ways to firstday by now. Knock Out... his voice was still there, flustered now. Breakdown felt the need to rush off, but he wanted to make sure he was in the clear. Maybe he could get an ally here. He'd heard Ratchet's voice, so that meant Autobots were nearby, and he'd need all the backup he could get in an unfamiliar area. Okay, so the only mark on her body was...

"Oh, hey, we match." Breakdown held up his forearm to display the new mark he'd already tried scratching off a few times.

"It just means I need to train more." It was slightly hard to keep the exasperation out of her voice; she usually was much better than this, and while some would have given themselves an excuse in the unfamiliar situation, Elita wouldn't.

She was, however, secretly relieved Grimlock hadn't been here to see that. He didn't need more reason to be doubtful than he already had.

"And it doesn't seem like it's easy to get off. I suppose you didn't choose to wake up with that either?" Elita tilted her helm at the mark, then frowned down at her own.

Actually... it vaguely looked like the mark wasn't actually branded into the metal itself now that she was looking closer, but... slightly above?

"Eh, no, I'm not big on marks, period. And I don't think I got so overcharged I offlined yesterday. This thing's a real slagger. Hope it isn't some new kind of cosmic rust..." Breakdown picked at it again. It really wasn't painted on, or branded on. It just sat there.
invisiblepinkboat: (Feeling lucky? - trained spark)

"I don't think cosmic rust sits above your plating." It wasn't easy to see that the mark hovered somewhere just slightly above the plating, so it was a statement with no other inflection to it.

Elita looked up from the marking again, frowning. She doubted there'd be commonalities, but... if he would reply, it'd be something to go from.

"What were you doing before you woke up here? Whatever got us here is able to pull you from mid-transwarp, at the least." Since that's where she had been before waking up here.

"I was on a mission with Dreadwing to offline Airachnid. She caught wise to us, caught me offguard, and..." Breakdown looked down at his arm morosely. "She pulled off this arm. I think. I think she was killing me. I know I lost the fight. Wasn't much of a fight. So I just woke up here, and that's it. What about you?"
invisiblepinkboat: (Not Uhura - still only female on deck)

[personal profile] invisiblepinkboat 2012-06-23 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The only name she recognizes in that is Dreadwing, but even that is only from file since that had been the combined form of one of Bug-Bite's crew and another mech. So they can't be the same as who this mech is talking about, which... Doesn't make sense.

What's going on here?

And apparently... he thought nothing of admitting he'd been off on a mission to kill someone before coming here (well, she wouldn't either, really), but dying or severely injured, he was fine now which was... curious.

"On a ship having entered trans-warp. So apparently whatever got us here can pull us from... wherever." Troublesome, but maybe she can find someone from the crew here then?

"Yeah, like that's good news," Breakdown grumbled, and then tapped at his bad eye again. But then, thinking about her story gave him pause. There weren't that many ships that could be out there. There weren't that many neutrals left. And just thinking about trans-warp, and anything related to the physics of that made his processor hurt. "Something's messing with us. It better have a real good reason. Anyway, the sooner I get back to the Nemesis, the better. Starscream won't come n' save me twice. And you should be getting back to your ship too, right? Maybe it crashed somewhere around here. We can go look together, uhh... your name?"
invisiblepinkboat: (Pink boat best alt - still competent)

[personal profile] invisiblepinkboat 2012-06-23 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
... Oh, definitely a Decepticon. While Starscream had quite the... checkered past, he didn't go around rescuing mechs randomly. If they were thinking of the same individual, but how could they not?

The fact was, however, that there was enough differences in their design to be... strange. Something was off, and it frustrated her not knowing what it was.

"Elita One. Yours..?" She tried not to stare too much or obviously at the comment about Starscream saving him but then she looked around the mounds of junk that were visible.

"I think a recently crashed ship would be obvious, even here with all this junk. And you seemed to be going somewhere before you ran into me." She doesn't really feel like walking around with a Decepticon unless it's actually needed, and as of yet, she's seen no life-or-death need.

Breakdown, it's hilarious how out of the loop you are.

[personal profile] brokendown 2012-06-24 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"Breakdown. Nice t'meetcha." Breakdown didn't recognise her name. And she was pretty strange-looking. Than again, if you wanted strange looking femmes, there's nothing like Airachnid, so Breakdown figured he'd seen it all. "Yeah, I think I heard my partner, off that way." He pointed. "I wouldn't mind backup in case we run into some 'Bots."
invisiblepinkboat: (Invisible pink boat - recon)

Poor thing. XD

Elita flexed one hand, not about to draw out her weapon just yet, but considering the possible direction this conversation might take now, she'd be ready. Not that she wouldn't be able to take him barehanded, but she did recognize the usefulness of her EMP scrambler.

"Too late for that, you know," she said dryly, making a gesture at herself with one hand. "I've been flying with an Autobot crew for a decade now."

Why she had never been branded? Well, Grimlock hadn't thought it was necessary, and technically the war was over. Technically they'd been hunting down rogue criminal elements dangerous to the burgeoning society and stability of the rebuilding Cybertron.

All in all, let me say : well played, Elita.

Breakdown stiffened for a second before rapidly backing up and transforming his right hand into its large hammer form. His face went from confusion to an unreadable hardness. He had to think, think for just a second in his life. If he fought now, he might never get to see if the voices e thought he heard were even real. He had better things than to mess up a lady. Especially a lady who looked like she could give even better than she got.

He straightened from a fighting post to standing again. He detransformed his hammer. A sign of trust for the bot who hadn't gotten the drop on him when she could have already. "Maybe we'll get to fight after our nest run-in. I have a partner to find. I wouldn't follow me." His voice was low and growling in warning, though he couldn't resist a jab at how he'd met the only other mech he'd yet met. He quickly transformed into his altmode and sped off, not leaving any tie for rebuttals, and hopefully little time to be fired at in his retreat.
invisiblepinkboat: (Feeling lucky? - trained spark)

She does her best.

When Breakdown clearly got ready to fight, transforming part of his right arm into a hammer (that was a new one on her), Elita had tensed, stance shifting effortlessly into readiness to strike if needed.

But when he apparently decided to post-pone their frankly currently needless fight, Elita straightened up again, still ready to pull out her weapon if he got the idea to fire on her while speeding away in altmode...

He didn't. And he wouldn't find any of Elita's missiles shot after him either. He wasn't one of the Graviton's targets; Decepticon or not, she had no reason to go after him, not at the moment anyway.
