A formal dance.

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Atrium, Haven's Hub.
WHEN: Today! The dance will go on from the late afternoon until the early hours of the morning.
WHAT: Have your top hat and cane? This is a formal ball. The origination is a drunken Vandal and battle-worn Saber.
WARNINGS: Could be anything from bar fights to drunken swearing to people tripping over their own feet or people making out in a corner.

Welcome to the dance!

The Atrium will have its doors open in the late evening. For the first two hours, Vandal and Drift will be acting as receptionist and bouncer. After that, the doors close. At the reception desk, you will be required to sign your name and also hand over any weapons that you are carrying. (Within the building there is an inhibitor placed. No one will be able to use any weaponry on their person.)

The Atrium is decorated in royal purple and black, with accents of white and pearl. The decorations are standard fair for a ball. There's hanging draperies, table clothes, and colored lighting. Towards the outside of the circular Atrium, everyone will be under a glowing white light. Towards the middle of the dance floor, there is a much softer lavender that illuminates the immediate area.

Vandal and Saber organized and planned, and then helped with decorations. They will also be over seeing the event throughout the entire night. Vandal will be handling the reception desk and registration. We have Frenzy as our DJ in the Atrium, and Miko will be playing electric guitar for those who decide to visit the bar. Saber, Ironhide, and McCrane will be acting as security. They would be the best to contact should you have any.. safety concerns. Our bouncer, Drift, will be "on call" for security once his primary assignment is done. Kay organized and lead the decorating, and Ravage and McCrane helped with placing them. Melan and Joe gathered needed materials. Skidaddle is the one to blame for having the supply of available hats at the doors for any Cybertronian who tries to get past the one piece of attire rule.

Feel free to post in any sub-forum area you think your character would be present in (with or without an opening post), or merely tag others. Prose or action-spam is okay (and you may want to include this in your initial posts if you want others to tag you). Bonus: include links to garments your character may be wearing. This is entirely up to you! Have fun!

Make sure to add your character to the tags! (That's the registry.)

Starscream was a complicated topic, for both of them, obviously. Jetfire couldn't even honestly say that what was going on currently had made things more simple.

"Indeed. And no, I believe it's not... I'd assume the necessities for navigating in space would be similar enough, but as for the rest..." Jetfire trailed off, frowning thoughtfully. "The wider diciplines connected to geology are one of my oldest, along with aerodynamics. Weapons engineering." The last is admitted somewhat slowly; it has proven useful, but not quite what he'd like to have in his repertoire.

"... And I believe perhaps comparing our pasts should be saved for a more... quiet and private occasion." It was still something he wanted to do, despite the potential for... quite a lot of things, depending on what was similar and what wasn't.

But when did you otherwise get a possibility like this?

Once again, he nodded in agreement while Jetfire spoke. Even in this aspect, they had several things in common..

"I preferred working with living organisms whenever possible, but geology was one of my main fields, too. Starscream and I used to explore uncharted planets."

He trailed off for a moment, giving himself a few seconds to think. To be quite honest, he appreciated the suggestion of leaving the conversation for later. He couldn't really separate his professional background from his personal life, after all. That much was clear.

It was funny, in a way. Back then he would never have imagined it might become an issue.

"I'd like that," Skyfire agreed in the end. "I admit that I'm quite curious about it."

"Hmm, can't say I ever was drawn to that." Jetfire smiled, shaking his helm slightly. "Though I did keep observations of the native lifeforms when there were any on the expeditions Starscream and I did go on... Basic information. Energy production and conversion, along with the other diciplines, held more interest." There'd been a few expeditions, but not that many. Partly because Starscream got drawn into the gladiator scene and his attention got... fractured.

And Skyfire and Jetfire both have that little... issue, unfortunately enough. Which Jetfire had somewhat assumed and well. It might simply be easier to be too careful than not. Jetfire waited quietly until Skyfire agreed and while he certainly was curious, the pause hinted at something a bit... sensitive. He'd probably not been too wrong, so the smile, while genuine, was a bit wry.

"Me as well. Especially given the similarities, so it'd be interesting to see if there is a definitive point where the events branches, or if it's simply many small things but otherwise the overall pattern being the same..."
wherenobotsgone: (R - I'm listening)

"It's a good idea, yes. There are so many things we have in common... We should probably talk about this in detail."

He paused, and then grinned a little. This wasn't the best place or time to talk in great detail about personal things - that was also true.

"That is, when we have a more quiet moment."
angleofscience: (smile - as predicted!)

Jetfire chuckled, nodding.

"Not the best location or event for it no, even if I'd certainly want to do it now." Then Jetfire realised that... perhaps... he ought to at least make a cursory pass around the Atrium, see if there was anyone else he might want to speak to...

And find Starscream.

Just so he knew what the Seeker was up to.

"Want to have a look around? I should... at the least, try to find Starscream." Jetfire rubbed his hand over the lower half of his face, only slightly hiding the exasperated smile.

Ah, that seemed like a better plan for the time being. Skyfire smiled at the suggestion.

"I'd like to," he agreed, with a slight nod. "I haven't been... around, much. Not yet."
angleofscience: (smile - patience is a virtue after all)

"Let's do that, then." Shaking his helm, Jetfire frowns slightly. "I arrived with him, but I haven't seen him since..." Which could be good or bad.

And it was more like Starscream convincing him to come. Unfortunately. Not that he could regret agreeing to come, since he got to talk to Skyfire in person.

From what little he had seen of this particular Starscream... yes, he had to agree that it was better not to leave him unattended for too long. That was something he seemed to have in common with the one from his world. Starscreams getting bored were very bad news.

"Ah, yes... We'd better find out where he went off to."
angleofscience: (look over there now - no distraction)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2013-03-12 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Very bad news indeed, but at least it would be somewhat limited by the setting. Either way, Jetfire nodded and after casting a look around and not immediately seeing the wayward Seeker, gave Skyfire a slightly lopsided smile.

"Indeed. Besides, I'm sure it'll give him something to comment on." The two of them, that was. With a snort, Jetfire led them off. At least Starscream wouldn't be hard to find, really, since he was among the taller mechs present (excluding either of them), and wore that... crown.

It'd be useful for spotting him, at least.
wherenobotsgone: (R - You're adorable)

[personal profile] wherenobotsgone 2013-03-13 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Skyfire couldn't hold back a chuckle at that. The similarities where just too close.

"I'm sure it will," he agreed. "Starscream always seems to find some excuse to give his very important opinions.

The fact that Starscream was also getting their attention right now even though he wasn't even there didn't quite register with him.
angleofscience: (ttly explaining things - confused yet?)

[personal profile] angleofscience 2013-03-13 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
They sort of were, weren't they? Not that Jetfire was aware of that on his end. He did, though, have another reality's Starscream to compare with, and they, too, had been reasonably alike.

"That he does... And then some end up surprised when what he says make sense," said Jetfire, honestly dryly amused. He knew Starscream well enough to know the Seeker was hardly a rambling, illogical pile of arrogance.

Perhaps unfortunately.

And the fact that they were talking about Starscream... well, it was probably inevitable, really. He did seem to carry some... importance for them both.
