A formal dance.

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Atrium, Haven's Hub.
WHEN: Today! The dance will go on from the late afternoon until the early hours of the morning.
WHAT: Have your top hat and cane? This is a formal ball. The origination is a drunken Vandal and battle-worn Saber.
WARNINGS: Could be anything from bar fights to drunken swearing to people tripping over their own feet or people making out in a corner.

Welcome to the dance!      The Atrium will have its doors open in the late evening. For the first two hours, Vandal and Drift will be acting as receptionist and bouncer. After that, the doors close. At the reception desk, you will be required to sign your name and also hand over any weapons that you are carrying. (Within the building there is an inhibitor placed. No one will be able to use any weaponry on their person.)      The Atrium is decorated in royal purple and black, with accents of white and pearl. The decorations are standard fair for a ball. There's hanging draperies, table clothes, and colored lighting. Towards the outside of the circular Atrium, everyone will be under a glowing white light. Towards the middle of the dance floor, there is a much softer lavender that illuminates the immediate area.      Vandal and Saber organized and planned, and then helped with decorations. They will also be over seeing the event throughout the entire night. Vandal will be handling the reception desk and registration. We have Frenzy as our DJ in the Atrium, and Miko will be playing electric guitar for those who decide to visit the bar. Saber, Ironhide, and McCrane will be acting as security. They would be the best to contact should you have any.. safety concerns. Our bouncer, Drift, will be "on call" for security once his primary assignment is done. Kay organized and lead the decorating, and Ravage and McCrane helped with placing them. Melan and Joe gathered needed materials. Skidaddle is the one to blame for having the supply of available hats at the doors for any Cybertronian who tries to get past the one piece of attire rule.      Feel free to post in any sub-forum area you think your character would be present in (with or without an opening post), or merely tag others. Prose or action-spam is okay (and you may want to include this in your initial posts if you want others to tag you). Bonus: include links to garments your character may be wearing. [Oh, if only Jack could see this now. Although Arcee's a little taken aback, as if surprised she'd get asked to dance, she easily shrugs it off and gives a friendly--almost playful--smirk. She dressed up for this little shindig, might as well go all out. Besides, Elita looked like someone she could trust for now.]

Why not? Just don't expect anything impressive, fancy footwork isn't exactly my specialty.

[That is her warning. If Elita gets her feet stepped on, it's not Arcee's fault.]

[Chuckling, Elita just nods and it's surprising how the feel of a hand equally as slim as her own in hers feels. Somewhat interestingly strange.]

Oh, I'm used to being in close proximity to others while fighting, and from what I noticed earlier, it's similar enough... [Her own smile grows rather playful as well.] Just have to move with, instead of against.

[The pause a bit out on the dancefloor is an obvious offer for Arcee to take the lead... whatever sort of lead she'd desire here. Elita's flexible, and used to following someone else.]

[That slim hand holds onto Elita's just a tad tighter once Arcee takes her offer to lead, walking Elita further into the center of the dance floor.]

Don't even get me started on close combat. If dancing is really anything like it, then we should be good to go.

[Just give her a moment, she's sure she's seen some formal dancing on the television before. Now if only she paid attention to it...

Arcee's dancing starts out very simple at first, making sure Elita can follow her. She doesn't mind the size difference, she's used to being the shorter one. Even if a much large bot asked her to dance, she'd still probably try to lead.]

As long as we don't try for any particular dance, it ought to be... and we don't try to injure each other.

[She grins again, a quick flash as she pauses to consider, and then simply puts her hands where it seems the most fitting to let Arcee have the maneuverability needed. After a beat or two, it doesn't take long for her to be able to match and then follow the other's movement.]

You prefer close combat as well, then?

[Since it'd seemed like that from the comment, and new to dancing or not, Elita's observant enough to be aware enough of her current partner's frame and movements to not have to look down between them to be able to move with her already.]

[Well there's something Arcee could definitely get herself into. Combat talk. It took her mind off the dance and the distraction actually made her steps a little more smoother. You know, now that she wasn't actually over thinking it.]

You can use a mech's larger size against him if you're fast enough. Especially fun if they've never fought a femme before. They never see it coming.

[Shame she's been fighting the same 'Cons for what feels like forever. She hasn't had the opportunity to give anyone that surprise in a long while.]

[Arcee's smoother moves due to her distraction makes it even easier for Elita to relax into it and, as such, move more intuitively, even if she was already well on it earlier. Briefly drumming her fingers against the armour they were resting on before her hand curved around Arcee's arm again, Elita smiled.]

Size and weight. I've noticed even minibots tends to be built heavier than I would be at a similar size... [She nodded to Arcee, since well, she was the first femme she'd seen this tiny. Slipstream had been a Seeker, and thus, of course, large.]

Though I do tend to use my camouflage and martial arts more than speed alone.
