A formal dance.

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Atrium, Haven's Hub.
WHEN: Today! The dance will go on from the late afternoon until the early hours of the morning.
WHAT: Have your top hat and cane? This is a formal ball. The origination is a drunken Vandal and battle-worn Saber.
WARNINGS: Could be anything from bar fights to drunken swearing to people tripping over their own feet or people making out in a corner.

Welcome to the dance!      The Atrium will have its doors open in the late evening. For the first two hours, Vandal and Drift will be acting as receptionist and bouncer. After that, the doors close. At the reception desk, you will be required to sign your name and also hand over any weapons that you are carrying. (Within the building there is an inhibitor placed. No one will be able to use any weaponry on their person.)      The Atrium is decorated in royal purple and black, with accents of white and pearl. The decorations are standard fair for a ball. There's hanging draperies, table clothes, and colored lighting. Towards the outside of the circular Atrium, everyone will be under a glowing white light. Towards the middle of the dance floor, there is a much softer lavender that illuminates the immediate area.      Vandal and Saber organized and planned, and then helped with decorations. They will also be over seeing the event throughout the entire night. Vandal will be handling the reception desk and registration. We have Frenzy as our DJ in the Atrium, and Miko will be playing electric guitar for those who decide to visit the bar. Saber, Ironhide, and McCrane will be acting as security. They would be the best to contact should you have any.. safety concerns. Our bouncer, Drift, will be "on call" for security once his primary assignment is done. Kay organized and lead the decorating, and Ravage and McCrane helped with placing them. Melan and Joe gathered needed materials. Skidaddle is the one to blame for having the supply of available hats at the doors for any Cybertronian who tries to get past the one piece of attire rule.      Feel free to post in any sub-forum area you think your character would be present in (with or without an opening post), or merely tag others. Prose or action-spam is okay (and you may want to include this in your initial posts if you want others to tag you). Bonus: include links to garments your character may be wearing. [Kay had been busy that whole week getting ready for this. She wanted everything to be PERFECT with the decorations, but it didn't stop there, either. Her outfit, while extremely difficult to find, was just right. She's wearing a long slender dress, although purple and a little too tight for a free spirit like her, but it'd do. Her scarfs still on, at least.

But forget that, this was a DANCE right? That means it's time to dance. DUH.]

[Hey Kay! Four runs up to her in delight. Such a pretty dress you have there! Just to make sure that the girl has seen her, he goes ahead and taps her on the leg.

Hello!

Instead of waving he curtsies. That's what you're supposed to do when you wear a dress right?]

[Kay looks around for a minute as she feels the tap on her ankle. For a second, she thought there was a mouse. Thankfully, it was only Four! That face brightens up, and she bends down, taking a look at that adorable dress he's got on.]

Oh gosh, Four! You look so cute in that! It's like it was made for you!

[Spoilers: It probably was. In return, she gives a little curtsy back.]

Just make sure not to get stepped on!

[Of all the things that can happen to Four, he finds that being stepped on his the least of his worries. It's an easy thing to avoid if you exercise a little bit of caution.

Kay giving him a curtsey back causes him to giggle silently to himself. This experience is certainly exciting! He's not going to accomplish anything down here though, so he raises both arms as a sign that he wants her to pick him up.]

[When he raises his hands, she immediately wraps her hands around him gently, pulling him up. She didn't want to wrinkle that dress now, did she? Her arms come inward, face zooming a little closer.]

I bet you're a heart stealer at this dance! Guess I have some competition. You almost snatched mine!

[Four suddenly gets all shy with all the compliments. He really isn't that amazing! Really! It's too bad that he can't speak, or he'll compliment her on how beautiful she looks.

He smiles and starts swaying his arms back and forth. Want to dance Kay?]

[She notices his shyness, rubbing his little 'belly' with her thumbs and smirking.]

Stop that! I'm the thief around here, not you!~

[She giggles, and watches him flail his arms.]

Hmm? Something you'd like, Four?

[If you think that Stitchpunks can't be tickled than you'd be wrong. Four silently giggles and playfully grabs at her fingers. Hmm, how to communicate what he wants...?

Ah, he knows!

Four points at a nearby dancing pair, then makes a gesture between Kay and himself.]

[She can't help but find his little ticklishness cute...man, she could do that all day. But she's trying to get her attention for...something. So she'll glance from where he's pointing to them...

It takes a moment for it to register.]

Oh! You want to dance with me!

[Ravage is doing his own version of dancing, which consists of pouncing around all over the dance floor. He comes pouncing by Kay and wave]

Hai Kay!

[Oh Ravage, that is absolutely the cutest thing she's ever seen. The pounce surprises her a little, but she's far from scared.]

Ravage! You came too??

Yep! I halped decorate! [Of course by help, he means he got tangled and goofed around again.]

It looks GRRRREAT!

[She added in that little 'Grrr' because cat. Whatever, she thought it was funny.]

You know, I still need a dance partner.

[Ravage smiles.]

Oooo I can totes be your dance partner!

[Well, you certainly made her night, Ravage. She runs a hand along his head, rubbing those 'ears' before starting to get down.]

Alright! But I'm warning you, I'm hard to keep up with!

[Ravage purrs at the ear rubs, and then laughs.]

Lulz! I can totes keep up! [And he starts dancing, which is really just him bouncing around.]

No way, you can chatspeak?!

[She asks this to the cat who can text. Also while they're bouncing around like idiots.]

It's tipsy o'clock!

[Ever seen the Shepard Shuffle? Now you have. She's got the smell of alcohol on her breath and she's acting a little looser than usual, but she's still not to the drunk point yet. Tipsy enough to try dancing though.]

Hey, you're Kay, right? We talked over the comms. I'm Commander Shepard. It's nice to meet you in person.

[She doesn't stop dancing while she's doing her introductions, and there's a small smile on her lips to try to keep the atmosphere light and unintimidating, as she's been told she doesn't smile enough.]

[Kay can't help but giggle at Shepard's introduction, finding the dance--if anything--amazing. In fact, she's just going to join in, doing a dance very similar, but with teenage girl flair.]

Nice to meet you too! You're getting used to everything around here, then?

It's a bit confusing at first, but everyone's nice for the most part!

[Aw, you're cute. Shepard isn't used to having fangirls. Just... Conrad.]

This place is very different, that's for sure. I'm used to crowded places and a variety of species, but all these robots... I'm sure it just takes time.

[The urge to just ask Kay questions came up, but tonight was supposed to be fun. Leave it that way.]

[Well get used to it, Shep. She collects role models for a living.]

It's actually a lot easier to get used to than you think. These robots are very special. They have hearts--...even if they say they don't.

[She does a silly little spin, but almost gets dizzy in the process. Stupid child.]

You bet I am! It's so nice to get a little R&R! Especially after those...centipede things.

Hearts? They're robots. [There's more than a little cynicism in her voice. Instinctively, Shep's arms shoot out to grab Kay when she wobbles in her dance. No need for head injuries today.]

Woah, slow down there tiger. I'm glad you're having fun.

[She appreciates that stability, Shep.]

No! It's different. They're robots with souls...

Really! They bleed and everything!

Bleed what? Oil? I'm not new to the idea of a robot having a soul, but let's not start comparing them to humans now. They're their own things.

It's called Energon or something. That's their blood. They need it in order to survive.

Think of em like...an alien race of robot people!
