All Medics on Deck
WHO: Hospital mingle log
WHERE: Solus' Medical Bay
WHEN: Shortly after the Tarn fiasco
WHAT: Injured bots and annoyed medics
WARNINGS: Cranky medics and impatient patients
After the battle with the DJD, there are quite a few who had retained minor to severe injuries, and Red Alert is here to tend to them as they came in. Assuming that they think to come in at all. She realizes that she can't really scold anyone, as the act of taking down one of the Haven's most dangerous inhabitants was completely necessary and unavoidable.
Red Alert can be found fussing over patients, and she will allow guests as long as they're not loud or otherwise disruptive. Please don't try to escape, she'll come after you.

"Optimus." She smiled and tightened her grip a little. "If your name was easier to shorten, I'd have found something by now... Magnus was as hard, and I had to give up." It might be a very off-hand comment, but she did want him to know, not just by her presence, how important he was.
no subject
"...Oh? If you're looking for nicknames, you might try 'Orion'. I used to go by that, once. A long, long time ago."
He managed to reach over with his free hand, placing it over the back of hers. He smiled.
"Though I can't really blame you for giving up on Magnus. It really can't get much shorter than that."
no subject
"That's cuter than I would've imagined you'd have been named." Pausing, Elita tilted her helm, optics unfocusing briefly. "Though I don't think Prime has any other designation before he was named Prime in my reality. That's something that happens in yours, Orion?" That felt... nice to say. She couldn't put her finger on, exactly, why she preferred to use nicknamed for those she counted closest, but she did.
"Nothing else would sound very nice," Elita said with a chuckle and shook her helm. "I don't use nicknames to tease people, after all."
no subject
"Not what I would have called it, but I can see how it might seem somewhat at odds with my current name. Are you sure you don't intend to tease?" He joked lightly. Battlemask damaged in the fight and currently retracted, it was obvious his smile deepened when she actually used his former name, even if the expression was somewhat wryly embarrassed.
"Changing designation upon becoming Prime seems to be a sort of tradition, as far as I am aware. At least, it seems to happen fairly often."
no subject
And she wouldn't deny that his deepened smile when she used his previous name didn't cause a flicker of pleasure at his (however embarrassed) happiness over it.
"Interesting... I suppose it could make sense, to impart the weight of importance?" She tapped her cheek with her other hand, frowning. "Though it seems a little impractical, to make everybody switch as well. Though I suppose that happens either way, sometimes, when someone chooses to change designation".
Like Hot Rod had apparently changed his designation to Rodimus, for whatever reason. She wasn't very well-versed in the wider Autobot forces.
no subject
"And I suppose so, on both accounts." Though his own name change wasn't exactly usual, he'd heard about Hot Rod's designation switch as well. Even if it hadn't been a tradition before, it certainly was now.
"It does take some getting used to, on both sides. Has Elita One always been your designation, then?" He would much rather talk about her than his old life, before becoming Prime.
no subject
Chuckling, Elita nodded and squeezed their joined hands briefly.
"Oh, it has. I've never had a reason to change, and doing it for no reason wouldn't be very practical, since usually one does need a drive and a want to change for it to be even remotely easy to switch. I've used a few designations as covers when necessary, though." She drummed her free hand thoughtfully on the berth as she spoke, smiling a little.
no subject
"I don't recommend the experience anyway. It is something of a hassle."
He looked thoughtful for a long moment, regarding her question, before nodding slowly. He hadn't considered it for a long, long time.
"I...do not mind it. It is who I am, now. I don't think I could go back to the name easily, not completely. But I certainly do not mind being reminded of it, especially by dear friends."
Pointedly, he met Elita's optics with a grin.
no subject
"I can well imagine!" Laughing, Elita shook her helm. "Sometimes it was hard enough to remember to answer to the cover's designations when I was using them, nevermind changing out of that." Her smile widened then, optics deepening in their shade and glow at what Optimus was saying.
It was nice to hear that, given how awkwardly things had begun.
"That's good. It does fit you, even if it's the only designation I'm used to using... though it's good that you don't mind your original one either." She winked and laid her other hand over the one Optimus had twined with hers for a moment, before she let it fall back on the berth.
no subject
"Thank you. Now cover-designations I would have problems with remembering; never mind the how hilarious of an idea it is for a Prime to actually manage going undercover in the first place."
He laughed at the idea, loudly enough that he had to cut himself off with a wince; it hurt too much to laugh that hard.
no subject
"Careful. And you are quite distinctive, yes." Chuckling, Elita tightened their grip for a moment, and then cocked her helm. "Though, a simple temporary paintjob change might confuse people enough, even if you look exactly the same otherwise, just because they are so used to seeing you as you are."
no subject
He smiled weakly, nodding as he recovered.
"And perhaps. But it would still be a poor choice for espionage. Though it would perhaps be interesting to see the effects of such a thing attempted within a Autobot base."
Optimus grinned, chuckling softly at the (brief) confusion such a thing might cause.
no subject
"It could work pretty well... and if it was done anywhere where you and Magnus share the same similar base chassis, you could always paint yourself white and blue." Though the fact that Optimus would've disappeared from the base and 'Magnus' suddenly appeared would make it obvious... unless it was done somewhere he'd just arrived to.
no subject
"Ah, that would be a sight. I'm afraid Magnus isn't that similar to me back home, but it would make for an interesting color change. Might hide me away for a little while at least!"
no subject
She smiled and then narrowed her optics as she leaned a bit closer, eyeing Optimus. She'd heard the threadiness in the chuckle, and he'd drooped the longer they talked, even if he probably wouldn't admit to it.
"Though, perhaps we should continue this later?" She raised their hands and, tentatively, brushed her lips briefly against the metal before she laid them back on the berth Optimus was occupying.
