All Medics on Deck

WHO: Hospital mingle log
WHERE: Solus' Medical Bay
WHEN: Shortly after the Tarn fiasco
WHAT: Injured bots and annoyed medics
WARNINGS: Cranky medics and impatient patients

After the battle with the DJD, there are quite a few who had retained minor to severe injuries, and Red Alert is here to tend to them as they came in. Assuming that they think to come in at all. She realizes that she can't really scold anyone, as the act of taking down one of the Haven's most dangerous inhabitants was completely necessary and unavoidable.

Red Alert can be found fussing over patients, and she will allow guests as long as they're not loud or otherwise disruptive. Please don't try to escape, she'll come after you.

"Switching wasn't precisely your own idea," Elita noted with a tilt of her helm; if it had been his own, he'd probably not have missed it at all. "Do you like it at all, or have you just gotten used to it?"

Chuckling, Elita nodded and squeezed their joined hands briefly.

"Oh, it has. I've never had a reason to change, and doing it for no reason wouldn't be very practical, since usually one does need a drive and a want to change for it to be even remotely easy to switch. I've used a few designations as covers when necessary, though." She drummed her free hand thoughtfully on the berth as she spoke, smiling a little.

"Good to know. It suits you." Optimus smiled, returning the squeeze. Idly, he traced his thumb over the back of Elita's hand.

"I don't recommend the experience anyway. It is something of a hassle."

He looked thoughtful for a long moment, regarding her question, before nodding slowly. He hadn't considered it for a long, long time.

"I...do not mind it. It is who I am, now. I don't think I could go back to the name easily, not completely. But I certainly do not mind being reminded of it, especially by dear friends."

Pointedly, he met Elita's optics with a grin.
ichooseboth: (Could this mask get any bigger?)

Not that he didn't have plenty of physical wounds, of course. But fighting with vocal wavelengths that affected the spark while leaving everything over it mostly intact?

After surviving fighting Megatron hand-to-hand for so long, going down to a lunatic with the Decepticon sigil for a face and overpowered vocals seemed like cheating.

"I really don't know. Other than ripping out half his throat."

Which he'd already done. Damaging the mech's vocals had been the only solution at the time, and he'd been fortunate to do it before his spark had been snuffed out.
cliffjumper: (something off - the purple's not enough)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2013-09-21 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Certainly stopped him, at least." Which was a relief. It had been unsettling to see and sort of made his spark ache in sympathy. "The frag is that for sort of ability, anyway? Does he got immunity to it or somethin'?"

He'd never heard of something like that, and it wasn't just creepy but sort of terrifying that there basically was a "natural" one-shot killing ability. Cliffjumper grimaced and rubbed one hand against his upper arm.
invisiblepinkboat: (Smiling - moments for that too)

[personal profile] invisiblepinkboat 2013-09-21 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thank you." She smiled as well, both at the compliment and the tumb over her plating. Such a small gesture, but it was nice.

"I can well imagine!" Laughing, Elita shook her helm. "Sometimes it was hard enough to remember to answer to the cover's designations when I was using them, nevermind changing out of that." Her smile widened then, optics deepening in their shade and glow at what Optimus was saying.

It was nice to hear that, given how awkwardly things had begun.

"That's good. It does fit you, even if it's the only designation I'm used to using... though it's good that you don't mind your original one either." She winked and laid her other hand over the one Optimus had twined with hers for a moment, before she let it fall back on the berth.

THANKS FOR THE PATIENCE OH GOD

[personal profile] fun_police 2013-09-26 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hm."

The mechanisms of the joint whirr a little, attempting to move a limb that wasn't there,"It's safe to say that the outcome was better than expected." He calculated a much higher instance of death.

Prowl approaches Optimus from the doorway so that he is a few paces from the berth. Much closer than before, but not exactly hinting at any sort of camaraderie by normal standards.

"Your assistance is appreciated."

When was the last time Prowl said thank you?
fun_police: (yeah okay)

[personal profile] fun_police 2013-09-26 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Peeking at Prowl's activities in a medical berth was about as boring as one would expect. It was only marginally more interesting than a day at his office, largely because he wasn't often at the receiving end of a battle. It's been a while since his frame sported the battle-damaged look.

Prowl was preoccupied with his log(how the hell did he get that in there?) and didn't pay much attention to Ironhide as he peeked inside. He was aware of his surroundings, of course. He'd just figured Ironhide would talk to him if he had anything to say.

There was only so much fidgeting he could take, however, and the datapad drops into his lap as he looks up,"You've been pacing around like an anxious turbofox."

Prowl watched her examine the shoulder joint, doing what we could to not obstruct whatever scanning process she had in mind.

He'd never formally gotten familiarized this medic in particular, but her work ethic and no-nonsense attitude was already a plus in his book.

"Good to hear. There is still unfinished business to take care of back at headquarters."
arnhaid: (Yeah I don't even get this shit no more)

[personal profile] arnhaid 2013-09-26 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
He looked almost guilty, when the other bot spoke up. One hand reached up, rubbing at the scrapes along the back of his neck. The other stayed back behind himself as he stepped fully inside.

"Didn't think it was anything as graceful as that."

Because seriously, Ironhide and Graceful didn't belong in the same paragraph. Still, he'd been caught, so he might as well -- he took a few more steps forward, holding out a box in the direction of Prowl's remaining arm. The other side looked nasty as anything, but so long as it was nothing dire, there really wasn't a reason to keep fidgeting around.

"Here. Found this on the way over. Think someone left you a 'get well' present."

... it was only half-teasing, sadly enough. He waggled the box once or twice before offering, with complete and utter seeming of seriousness:

"Need a hand?"

Ironhide no. You didn't--

"Of course. I don't intend on living the rest of my life one-armed."

A little sass, but it was basically his way of saying 'don't worry, I'm not going to jump out a window'. Her curiosity was a non issue as long as she did her job.

"I didn't expect anything witty to come out of you, Ironhide."

Prowl's glad to see you, buddy. Really.

He calmly reaches for the box, sitting it over his datapad before getting to opening it with one hand. Took a tad longer than usual, but soon enough the cover peels away to reveal...
arnhaid: (That's not where your gun goes.)

[personal profile] arnhaid 2013-10-02 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
"C'mon. I'm not all punch, no processing."

He's smirking a little, though, considerably more at ease than when he first marched into the room. No, he wasn't concerned at all. He cranes his neck, attempting to see into the box as Prowl gets it open.

... Inside is a "#1 DETECTIVE" mug big enough for a Cybertronian, as well as a "Best Friends" photoframe... but the picture inside the frame is only of Prowl.

Ironhide blinks.

"Wow. That's uh. That's worse than a bad pun."

Sorry buddy.

Ambulon is momentarily startled by the voice. It's been a very tense day, and given his recent run-in with death, he's more on edge than ever before. At least he doesn't kick Glit, though that was honestly one of his knee-jerk reactions for a moment. He sighs, and it seems as if he is going to decline Glit's offer--

"I'm not even going to bother," Ambulon says and picks up the cube. He sits on the nearest slab and knocks back a huge swallow. The flow of patients has almost trickled to a halt. He can do this. "Thank you," he says after nearly downing the entire thing. "How are you holding up?"
ichooseboth: (Stoic stance)

AHAH...AHAH...yeah about that... >>

[personal profile] ichooseboth 2013-10-28 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Optimus probably doesn't recall the last time, but he only stares at Prowl for a moment before nodding like it is no big deal anyway.

"Hn. I'm glad you requested it. But I would have given it freely, no matter what. He had to be stopped."

He has been trying so hard to stick to the rules of this place, to not involve himself unduly in other areas...but letting Tarn run amok when he could do something about it?

No.

He eyes Prowl for a moment, optics lingering briefly on the empty limb socket. "I am just glad that the outcome was not worse. We lost enough as it was, just stopping him."
ichooseboth: (HERP DERP)

[personal profile] ichooseboth 2013-10-28 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Optimus grinned, reaching over to return the squeeze.

"Thank you. Now cover-designations I would have problems with remembering; never mind the how hilarious of an idea it is for a Prime to actually manage going undercover in the first place."

He laughed at the idea, loudly enough that he had to cut himself off with a wince; it hurt too much to laugh that hard.
fun_police: ((prewar) you dont really believe)

RASPY BREATHING NOISES

[personal profile] fun_police 2013-10-28 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
There was no arguing from him on either points. Alternative motives or no, Prowl would never have an excuse to leave a mass murderer like that free and uninhibited.

He tracked Optimus's optics, noticing where they wandered as he spoke. Even their intrepid leader was not excluded from the constant analysis. A hand goes to cover the socket, as if to detract his attention away from it.

"I don't understand why you don't join us permanently, Optimus."

A question that seemed innocent enough, coming from Prowl.

"Most of what comes from the Law Committee appears to be simple formality."
ichooseboth: (Hand out - offer)

[personal profile] ichooseboth 2013-10-28 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
"I suppose so. You'd have to ask a medic or scientist, I suppose, to get a more exact answer."

Optimus sighed, before reaching across the berth to give Cliffjumper a comforting pat on a undamaged shoulder.

"For now at least, he can do no more damage. To anyone."
cliffjumper: (smile - sweeter than usual)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2013-10-28 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It shouldn't - maybe - relax him as much as it does, that pat, but Cliffjumper's stance loosens some and he dips his helm in a nod.

"Yeah. I suppose that gotta have to be good enough." Even if he doesn't like it, but it's one thing if he'd been killed while they tried to contain him, marching back there now to where Tarn is held and doing it wouldn't be right.

I'll even let ya choose the next movie without protestin', when you get out." He grins a little then - somewhat embarrassed, but certainly genuine. It's still somewhat hard to consider this whole... thing, that their friendship is. Because Prime.
invisiblepinkboat: (Not Uhura - still only female on deck)

[personal profile] invisiblepinkboat 2013-10-28 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
She reached out with her other hand, resting it at a shoulder briefly as he winced, and then straightened back up, smiling a little still.

"Careful. And you are quite distinctive, yes." Chuckling, Elita tightened their grip for a moment, and then cocked her helm. "Though, a simple temporary paintjob change might confuse people enough, even if you look exactly the same otherwise, just because they are so used to seeing you as you are."
glitteratimedic: (Default)

[personal profile] glitteratimedic 2013-10-31 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
He merely raises an optic ridge at the other medic's start. If he's that jumpy, it only proves his diagnosis, in his catty, oh-so-humble opinion.

"Good mech."

The cassette looks smug, but watches Ambulon drink. Just to be sure.

"Well enough, same as everyone else." He waves a paw flippantly, but his optics are dim with exhaustion.

[personal profile] rstlsslegsyndrm 2013-10-31 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Glit can try and diagnose Ambulon, but it's nothing he hasn't thought of before. Besides, he'd probably just brush it off. Haha, oops.

Ambulon takes another drink before looking to Glit. "Maybe you should take a break?" he suggests. "Things are calming down. You deserve it." Given recent... handicaps, Ambulon probably did the less work out of all the doctors here today.
ichooseboth: (Yeah and?)

EEEK

[personal profile] ichooseboth 2013-11-02 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
Too bad covering the wound really only draws attention to it; but Optimus takes it as a sign that Prowl is uncomfortable with the scrutiny and glances away from it, though not without a slightly raised optic brow.

"You mean besides the fact that I wish to abide by the rules of this place? Because, barring unusual circumstances, the enforcement team can readily handle things without me. I'm willing to step in when absolutely necessary, but otherwise I feel I am more needed elsewhere."
ichooseboth: (PROCEED)

[personal profile] ichooseboth 2013-11-02 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you."

He smiled weakly, nodding as he recovered.

"And perhaps. But it would still be a poor choice for espionage. Though it would perhaps be interesting to see the effects of such a thing attempted within a Autobot base."

Optimus grinned, chuckling softly at the (brief) confusion such a thing might cause.
ichooseboth: (PROCEED)

[personal profile] ichooseboth 2013-11-02 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Hm. You may come to regret that generous decision."

Optimus chuckled, giving red armor a friendly squeeze.

"I remember your distaste for some of my historical dramas. And I still have an entire queue of them to get through."
