rungout: (The Doctor is In)

Doctor, Doctor, gimme the news~

WHO: Rung and whoever wants to stop in!
WHERE: The good doctor's office
WHEN: It's an all day affair at Rung's office~ A few days after he discovered his new abilities.
WHAT: Therapy sessions and go!
WARNINGS: Dark pasts, etc?

Yep, it was that time again.

Now that things were somewhat back to normal for the resident therapist, Rung had put out the word that he would be taking patients again. He had missed it, helping others, and it was time to get his mind off everything that had happened to him over the past few weeks.

His office had been cleaned up and rearranged a bit, the therapist just wanting to change the atmosphere a bit.

Make it more personable than it had been before.

Satisfied with what he'd done, the front door had been propped open and he was settled at his desk, going over some files as he absently toyed with a ball of light.

It's probably not appropriate for him to be here. He's already asked so much of this Autobot. Maybe too much. Dropping in again, after everything he's said and done, shouldn't be allowed. He knows he has to learn.

He has to deal with these things alone, somehow. Relying on others... it's only going to work for so long, isn't it? He has to --

Grow up, Shinewbie.

Flinch.

-- learn to depend on himself. For once. But, all the same, just poking his head in won't hurt anything, will it? He can say what he needs to say, and depart.

He knocks, as lightly and softly as he can, opting to remain restrained and unobtrusive. Something familiar.

The smile was... a surprise, to say the least. Given everything he'd put the Autobot through, asked of him, it wouldn't have been a shock if Rung was less than thrilled to see him. At least, that was Kagerou's opinion of the situation. He supposed this time, it was a good thing he wasn't here to do that.

Not originally, anyway.

He bowed his head slightly, at the greeting, before following Rung inside. "Hello..."

As per his usual habit, he kept close to one wall, as if trying to flatten himself against it, and be less obtrusive. Even his wings folded tight to his back. "I'm fine," he said, quietly. "I found something. Recently. I thought... you could have it."

Maybe one day he will. Today he was too dragged down by other concerns. Maybe he'd be that way for a while.

"It's nothing... important," he said, shrugging his shoulders. He kept his gaze lowered. "Just something I found."

He shifted his weight a little, before holding out the object. He'd found it in the junkpile, rescued it, upon realizing what it was. A toy boat, actually. A model of some kind of human ocean liner.

"You said that you collected them. So... I brought it to you."

Wrong kind of ship, Kagerou.

His wings actually perk up a little, and the tension in his frame starts to ease. He even shifts away from the wall. Good -- he did well. After everything that's happened recently, even the small victories feel incredibly important. A nice little boost to what shreds of confidence he has.

"Good... I thought you could use one..."

After what happened to the other. He ducks his head, his own expression just shy of smiling -- the barest trace of pride twitching at the corners of his mouth.

"It was in the junk. But it's clean now."

Really, he promises it is.

You'd think it was more than simple thanks, the way he seems to perk up. His wings do so literally, lifting up behind his shoulders, and he lifts his chin a little, looking at the Autobot, instead of the floor at his feet.

"You don't have to say anything else," he says, a little hastily. "That's... all I came here to do. I'll leave if..."

If he's in the way. Even now, part of him still feels he's wasting the other's time. He tries a smile, however, to offset the words, the corners of his mouth twitching.

"I can find something else that needs doing."

He blinked. And his wings twitched, betraying the sudden feeling of excitement. Or relief. Some sort of comfortable emotion far better than the cloud of uncertainty he'd been curled up under lately. "All right," he said, and nodded.

When indicated, he slipped into one of the seats, making no more noise than the shadow he claimed to be. Old habits died harder than expected.

"I don't think I can drink tea," he said. At least he knew what it was. "But... I didn't know you knew about it."

"Yes." He nodded. He knew humans drank it -- he'd seen them, on occasion, when they'd come in the mornings to do checks, run tests. But it wasn't gasoline, and, understandably, he'd never tried it. "I didn't know you could change it... I thought it was just... the one kind."

And, needless to say, he was now curious. How many different kinds were there?

He still sat straight, rigid, less out of tension now, and more out of habit. Because, in all honesty, it was hard to be tense in this room. It felt safe in here.

"Yes, I am." Another nod. "I... it's all right. It's still too quiet, anymore." He tilted his head. "And... you?"
