Meet and Greet and Everything Else

What: This is the general meet and greet for Glyphless as Wing and Drift invited everyone to the bar for some R&R, shelter, fuel and medical attention.
Warnings: None at the moment!

Well it certainly is buzzing with activity, the new surge of glyphless wanderers has certainly made work, but it's not too gloom and doom. People are getting fed, and getting repairs if needed. And spirits seem decent if not a little tense for obvious reasons.

When Kay's lifted up, and that other hand comes behind her, she leans her back against it, giving a soft smile as she continues to rise. "You can't leave just yet...! I only just found you!"

She gives a soft giggle. She wasn't completely back to normal, but with babysteps, a smile was on her face more often than not. Everything had been fixed, so why not?

"I probably should refuel too, there's so much good food here!"

It's good to see her smile. To see her laughing. Even if it's more subdued than she usually was. It gets a slight smirk out of him -- which, in comparison, might as well have been a grin.

"I don't want to be in the way," he admits, but makes no move to put her down, or head for the door. Not yet. "I just don't know what... to refuel with exactly."

There's just so much here. He tilts his head down at her.

"What do you need?"

"The power of love is the only fuel you need!"

...okay, a fit of giggles breaks out from that.

"Just kidding. What about what all the other robots are having? It seems to be the norm."

When the question is asked about her, she rubs her neck.

"Hmmm...I could really go for something sweet."

He makes a face at first, but it passes as soon as he realizes she's joking. Then he just shakes his head, lifting her to set her down on one broad shoulder.

"It... is. But..." A slight shrug of his other shoulder. "I don't know if I'm allowed to."

And there's a distraction. A welcome one. He glances around.

"Where are the... 'sweet' things?"

She won't lie, it was nice to see that face twist at that joke. He was so easy to get a reaction out of. And that's what made her love him. She hopped onto that shoulder, making herself comfortable as she leaned against his head.

"At a party? Of course you are! Drinks on the house! What could be better than that? In fact, I get thirsty just looking at it. I mean, it's glowing blue!"

The question has her looking around curiously.

"You know...I'm not sure..."

"So you think it's safe?" A beat. "For me. Not you."

At her urging, he was stepping over to the bar, examining what was on offer. The cubes looked safe enough... and he had been refueling with something similar, lately. Carefully, he picked one up.

"We'll go look then."

As... soon as he tried this.

And as soon as he had, he almost wished he hadn't. It burned -- it burned like a punch to the face. His optic got very wide, and he actually "coughed".

"Well, you're all robots right? Made of the same stuff...so it's gotta be good for you, I'd think."

Yep. A+ investigator right here.

When Kagerou put the cube to his lips and then quickly pulled his head away, she peers over at him, alarmed at his reaction. That's...not a good sign when you drink.

"Kagerou! Are you okay?"

"They're not made like I am. They're... alive."

And alien. That was a big part of it.

He shook his head several times, peering into the cube as if it had bitten him. Though, the longer he thought about it -- it felt different than if he were just refueling. Warmer, almost.

"It's all right. It... just surprised me." And to prove his point, he took another drink -- this one slower. It didn't burn as much. "It's good."

"Well, you're alive too, aren't' you?"

He had all the signs of it. And he 'died', didn't he? If that didn't prove that he was alive, then nothing else would. And you can't convince her otherwise.

"Oh I get it. So it's like soda! The first sip is always surprising."

"Not like they are."

He didn't really know how else to explain it. They were alive because they had hearts. Sparks. All he had was AI.

Well. AI and a cube. The cube was nice, actually. He took another drink.

"Soda? What... is soda?"

"Soda's a fizzy drink. It's like...it tingles in your mouth when you sip it. I love it when it's flavoured like lime or cherry!"

She wasn't a fan of the coke-varieties.

"Is that what it's kind of like?"

"Tingles...?"

He looked at her, then down into the cube. A little more than half was left. Was he supposed to drink it slowly, or...?

"No, not really. It's... warm. Sort of. It just feels differently."

"Like hot chocolate!"

Yes...that's exactly what it's like Kay. You moron.

She lies down on his shoulder, peering down at it.

"I wish I could taste it...!"

"What's hot chocolate?"

Yes, it's safe to say that he has no idea what any sort of human food is. Short of maybe rice. Maybe.

But the more he tries it, the better everything seems to start feeling. He no longer feels nervous, the crowd starts to bother him less and less. Whatever this is... he sort of likes it.

"If it's anything like gasoline... you shouldn't. It would be dangerous for you."

"It's chocolate, but hot! Like a liquid. I'll show you sometime."

Her face scans the table, looking for any human drinks. Man, was she parched. She doesn't even notice the change in Kagerou just yet, craning her neck to get a better view.

"We'll just have to find something else then!"

"Chocolate...?"

They both end up looking at the table. There's more cubes. They're all glowing. He wonders if they're all going to taste like the one he had. That would... be nice.

There are probably other drinks for humans scattered around, but for the moment, he's not paying attention.

"Yes. Something else?" He glances at her. And...

...

Smiles.

"We should look."

Sorry, she saw that smile, and she gives a gasp.

"Kagerou! Your smile is so cute! Don't stop! I want a picture of it!"

She digs in her pouch, pulling out her cell phone and holding it up.

"Now stay still..."

"It's what? Cute?"

And that was promptly when his face started twisting around. Granted, it's more expression than the reserved, introverted, ninja-bot typically shows, but it's also not what she's looking for, either.

"What's that?"

"What?"

She lowers her phone, a look of shock on her face. The smile was gone UGH AND SHE MISSED IT. No, this wouldn't do. She had to get it back ASAP.

"Your smile? It's when you do this."

She takes her fingers and puts them to the edges of her mouth, then points them up. To be fair, she doesn't doubt that Kagerou wouldn't know what a smile is.

Just wait until he tries a few more cubes, Kay. Then he won't be able to stop smiling. He watches her, though, frowning in concentration. He still feels... odd. Warm. More relaxed than usual.

"My smile is that?"

Because he hadn't thought he was sticking his fingers in his mouth. But...

He tries it. Minus the fingers.

"Like this?"

"Just like that!"

She holds her phone up again, snapping the picture and giggling. God, he looked so cute like that, she could hardly handle it.

"You need to do that more."

"Do it more...?"

Did she mean smiling, or drinking? He could do both, right? That was allowed. He was already moving to collect another cube, in case that's what she'd meant.

He could keep smiling though, while he did it. Somehow, it felt easier than it ever did before.

That just makes her smile even brighter. Kagerou was smiling. She'd never seen it so openly...

"So, what can we get for me?"

His smile fades slightly, in thought. Then he glances around. He's not familiar with human drinks, but, maybe they can find something if they look long enough.

"I can carry you until you see something."

There are a lot of drink places set up, after all.

"Sounds good to me!"

She wastes no time in starting to climb him, hoping to get a good look as she scales the armor. "And maybe some Swiss Rolls while we're at it. Just watch, I'll be as silent as the night."
