OPEN
WHO: Sora and OPEN
WHERE: Knock Out's Clinic
WHEN: 17th-whenever someone brings him the opposing energon color
WHAT: Sora's sick and pretty much needs company
WARNINGS: Sora deserves his own warning, just saying
[ once more Sora finds himself in that clinic. maybe the door isn't locked, but he's more or less trapped all the same. this time, though? he doesn't really feel like leaving. he's not the type that easily gets sick - seriously, the kid travels to a bunch of different worlds and maintains his health. but this time? it's really knocked him off of his feet.
visitors are allowed, since Sora doesn't feel up to leaving and visiting his friends. he tries to smile and laugh like usual, but it's obvious he gets tired easily and zones out - kind of like a head cold. so more often than not, he can be found, curled up on one of those human sized beds.
careful. sick kid is clingy. ]

[Knock Out grins, maybe looking more amused at that frowny face than he should be.]
Are too. You act like you were never sick before.
[He's staying with you because he's waiting for Alia or Rapunzel to show up and help. NO OTHER REASON.]
What for? Ventus's chickens have some sort of magic healing properties I didn't know about?
no subject
[ sure, you are, Knock Out. whatever helps your ego not to be too damaged by the fluffy teen latched onto your fingers here. ]
...Humans eat chicken noodle soup when they're sick. Don't ask me why.
no subject
There's only one way to find out, she supposes. Rapunzel knocks on the door frame and peeks her head in.
Okay, those are definitely familiar faces and she's definitely where she's supposed to be. What a relief.]
Um, hello. Is it alright if I come in?
[If anything, she just hopes she didn't interrupt any sort of important conversation.]
no subject
[Then he turns to Sora and snickers.] Sora, this is Rapunzel. She says she might know how to fix you but she won't give you a kiss.
no subject
I've talked to her before...
[ up goes a hand. waving! ]
Hi!
[ AND THEN SNEEZING. ]
no subject
Mhmm; both of you helped me on my first day here.
[No need to remake acquaintances.
And ew. Sneezing. Yeah, Rapunzel would like to try and get him un-sick sooner than later.]
So, um... before I do anything, I need you both to promise you'll keep what you see to yourselves. Can I trust you to do that?
no subject
I don't know what you are talking about. It must have been another attractive red mech. [He looks away, crossing his arms over his chest. He did not help you, you were imagining things.]
Kid, stop grossing out our guests. [With a sigh, Knock Out shoves a paper towel on Sora's face.]
Rapunzel, I saw really strange things in my life, like you'd never imagine. Nothing surprises me anymore so, yes, you have my word.
no subject
he whines a "Knock Ooooout" as that paper towel falls on his face. yes, he wipes a little. a few sniffles. ]
I won't tell anyone... Promise!
no subject
[So strange to deny something that seems so trivial. Helping a person is a good thing, sure, but it's nothing to be ashamed of nor is it life-altering.
Oh well, now's not the time to dwell on the oddity of KO's denial.]
It's less about it being strange -not that it isn't unique- but it's... kind of supposed to be a secret. I wouldn't have asked either of you to promise if it wasn't.
[Rapunzel takes a calming breath; it's unnerving to share her power so soon, especially in this manner. But she knows it's for the greater good, and she knows it's the right thing to do, even if it isn't easy for her to take the risk of exposing her power.]
Sora, you might want to sit down. This is going to sound kind of weird --okay, really weird, but it might be to drape my hair over you if you are.
no subject
Why the hair?
no subject
just talk about how nice you are behind your back. ]
...Hair?
[ he sounds curious more than anything, settling back against his pillows. Sora sneezes again and frowns. it's not that he doesn't trust the girl. sure he does. she seems nice! he's just curious! ]
no subject
[Don't mind her as she approaches Sora and gently drapes her hair across his shoulders. Not quite as fashionable as a giant scarf, but definitely far more useful.]
I have magic hair that glows and heals when I sing.
[WINNING NERVOUS SMILE... which only last a brief moment.]
Just... please don't freak out.
no subject
He has the best priorities.Magic hair?
Okay, fine.
He's seen weirdest things, both in this planet and at home.]
We won't. Right? [He looked at Sora.]
no subject
[ frowns at that and makes sure that his nose is cover with a tissue. just scowling a little all he way. all for you, Knock Out. ]
Won't say anything either.
[ but he does stare at all of that hair. ]
Never heard of hair being magical before.
no subject
[Not that the idea of snot in her hair isn't gross, but she's fairly certain she can fix the problem before he has a chance to misplace his mucus. Thus, she offers a small, reassuring smile to the boy.]
There's a first time for everything, right? I mean, I don't know if anyone else out there has magical hair, but at least where I'm from, I'm the only one who does. So... I guess it's kind of rare.
[At least that's how Gothel always made it out to be: a one-of-a-kind gift.]
Anyways, now that I have your word -both of yours- I guess I better get started, huh?
[Okay, Punz, it's now or never. Cat's pretty much out of the bag anyways, she just needs to jump in and let them witness her power for themselves. After a short but steadying breath, she begins to gently sing the incantation.
Flower gleam and glow... Her hands clasp in front of her as the tune parts from her lips. Within the first line, a warm, golden light begins to shine from her roots and gracefully cascades through her locks.
Heal what has been hurt... The light reaches the hair draped over Sora and steadily keeps on its path to the tips of her hair, the healing glow continually flowing over him. Her eyes close as she focuses on the incantation and not the faces of KO and Sora.
Bring back what once was mine... The short song reaches its conclusion, and the light stops flowing, gently fading away from her hair. She opens her eyes and looks over Sora, before casting a quick glance at KO; now's the time to judge their reactions.]
There, that should do it. [Rapunzel might look a tad bashful, but the hope in her features trumps that of any sheepishness. She picks up and pulls her hair away from the boy's form, letting it drop at her sides.]
So... how do you feel?
no subject
[Although Elsas's hairstyle is pretty nice looking. Not like Knock Out will never say that out loud but he likes organics with spiky hair, it reminds him of his helmet.
Knock Out stares during the whole song and procedure but he doesn't look freaked out.] That was...interesting. It only happens when you sing? Does it have to be that specific song? Can you use your hair to read at night?
[Very important questions, all of those. Then he gives Sora a closer look.] Do you feel any better, kid?
no subject
[ honestly? Sora's kind of amazed. he watches with a sense of awe... well that and he can't really focus on much anyway. kind of hard to when his head is all fuzzy and stuff, you know?
when the show ends, Punz asks him if he feels all right and well. maybe he does? a little. he sure seems perky anyway. ]
You know... You've got a nice voice.
[ that is totally what he is focusing on anyway. ]
Actually I feel -
[ AND HE SNEEZES! thankfully into the tissue. ]
...Horrible.
no subject
Okay, maybe she never needed to use her power specifically to cure illness before, but it should have worked. The clock should have been turned back. He should have been as healthy as he was before he contracted the sickness.
For a long moment, she's at a loss for words, mentally scrambling to try to piece together why her hair couldn't cure him. Whatever is wrong, it can't be normal; she knows her hair can fix normal bodily problems, like aging, pain, and injury. And if it's not normal, that means it must be---]
Magic.
[Or something akin to it at her current level of understanding of this world.]
Th-that has to be what's wrong. Something... mystical. That's the only thing I can think of that would keep my hair from working.
I mean, Mother and I never got sick, and in hindsight, I'm pretty sure it was because my hair was used almost daily; it would have cured any sort of sickness before it even had time to get worse. So it should have worked here too.
[Yet it didn't, which... is quite the cause for concern. Despite her attempt to hide the sincere worry on her face, she doesn't quite manage to before she casts a concerned glance KO's way.
Whatever is making Sora sick, it's stronger than her own power.]
no subject
[He glanced down at Rapunzel.] I believe it might be the Lambdas's influence, little lady, because this happened all of sudden and there's nothing that seems to work.
Why do you used your hair everyday? You got sick too? [Rapunzel, Knock Out can tell that you tried hard, don't look so sad because he doesn't know how to deal with people having feelings.
Damn, how do you comfort? He's going to carefully move his hand behind her and pick her up so she's sitting on it.] You still have a really special hair, if it's of any consolation.
no subject
[ at least he's polite about the entire thing. water will be good since he's feeling all hot again. and no snot in the girl's hair. that's always a plus.
anyway, he looks to Rapunzel. ]
S'okay, you know. My magic didn't work right at first either.
no subject
No, I've never been sick, and I can't remember Mother ever being sick, but she used my hair almost every day to "keep the grey away". I think because she used it so often, if she ever actually was sick, she was cured before she realized she was ill in the first place. And well, the hair is attached to me, so whenever Mother used it, I kind of get second-hand use as well.
[However, Sora's comment immediately garners her attention.]
Wait... you can use magic too?
no subject
You are such a handful, Kid. [Complaining mostly because Knock Out is Knock Out. However, he handles him another glass, still holding Rapunzel in his hand, and makes sure Sora is not going to drop it before moving his fingers away.]
You had a lucky mother. And you are lucky too, being able to avoid illness. The Kid here can heal too.
no subject
he coughs a little when he stops drinking, maybe a little too fast there. ]
No just heal! But I know a few spells, yeah. But don't worry about it, really. I'll be fine and in a month or two your hair thingie will start working right too.
no subject
[She doesn't want to dwell on her mother's situation. Though Gothel's quick aging was all Rapunzel had ever known and thus it seemed normal, her mother had been without Rapunzel's hair for quite some time. Currently, she'd probably be frail, worried sick, or worse, assuming time between Cybertron and Earth wasn't at a standstill...
Nope, no, not gonna think about that. Rapzunel can't, not without guilt stunting every single action and word. Luckily, Sora's use of magic works as a wonderful distraction from the possibilities of life back home.]
That's really incredible...! What else can you do-- wait. A month or two? Do you really think it'll take that long for you to get better?
[Okay, so much for distraction. The stories and accounts of severe illnesses that Gothel had shared with her over the years made being sick sound like a death sentence. After all, the Plague could wipe out an entire household in a couple days, if not less. Would Sora survive a couple months?
She glances back at KO, her expression once again severely grim and concerned.]
no subject
no no no he WON'T be sick for that long. he only meant that you need time to get used to this place and its oddities. We are sure your magic will work again soon.
