Fundamental Failure to Fly

WHO: Fracas and YOU! Yes, YOU!
WHERE: All over the Haven
WHEN: Over the course of the next week (7/8 to 7/13)
WHAT: Fracas is practicing flying... unfortunately he's not so good at it yet.
WARNINGS: n/a, to be updated as needed

Fracas had been a car since forever. No, really. It was what he had always been. Wheels were the way he got around; it was why he suggested the roads in the first place. His undercarriage was so sore from rocks and stray junk he had to do something. Besides walking, anyway.

Changing to the body of a flier has... been something of an adjustment.

Okay, it's been a lot of adjustment. One he's still not entirely there with. But practicing combat with Shockwave had helped his fighting abilities. So practicing flying will help with that. At least, he hopes so.

If only it didn't end with him crashing so much.

Wing flaps are more difficult to deal with than he'd expected. If not for those, he'd have the flying part down. The landing not so much. As it is, he's only got down the takeoff. But one out of three ain't bad, right?
... Right?

Beware, Haven. For this week, a certain now-teal Vehicon is going to be in the sky. And nobody will be safe from him unexpectedly dropping out of the sky. Not even if you're in a temple; he might just crash right through your wall, in fact. Hope you were planning some renovations!

/kicks it. Also someone should get kibble stick somewhere.

Wing grunts as Drift moves to, uh, secure their visitor; apparently he's on the bottom of this strange ensemble now. Hello Fracas Sandwich apparently? At least that sounds like Fracas, except what he's doing sailing in through their balcony doors is totally beyond Wing at this point.

"I think that's a great idea." His muffled reply comes from the bottom of the pile, his breath warm against whatever body part that is. Sorry Fracas, if that's you. Drift, just consider it foreplay for later?

It takes a few kliks for Drift's realization that, you know, he should probably stop trying to throttle Fracas to actually releasing his grip. "Right. Uh. Sure."

Here, Fracas, welcome to having your own neck back. Drift will sheepishly pat the mass of fabric, because that will surely help. "How did you get up here?" Can we start with that?
winged_knight: (hands up)

Yes you can hurt me now

And normally Wing wouldn't mind being on the very bottom. Except this is a totally different situation and Fracas hasn't intentionally delivered himself directly to their berth wrapped like a present, (though the idea does have merit, he'll have to remember that for later).

"Thanks," he mumbles, "I got them at the home depot." If not for that landfall from the junk pile, Wing's room would be rather boring.

He feels that shiver but what it is doesn't entirely register right away. Then there's the comment about flying, three kliks of confusion, and suddenly he understands the ionized tingle against his face.

"Oooh."

Fracas has wings now (!?) which is probably complicating matters with the curtain. Well, there's a bare spot near his face obviously, so he reaches up with his free hand and gives the curtain a tug, trying to make the gap in wrapping bigger. And why not, he'll start wiggling the fingers of his pinned hand, since wherever it is it's palm up, trying to get a grip on the curtain there too. That's helpful, right?

I am really too punchy to be tagging

Drift's the latest to catch onto the sexy implications of this whole situation and his slowness just makes it all worse. It's all the more surreal because they're apparently discussing Wing's taste in home decor, now? Right, Drift, contribute.

"We can give you the whole tour, if you want." Especially Wing's book collection, which Drift occasionally built into little cities and bridges in his spare time. What? There weren't any blocks or legos down in the gutters. Right now, he's tugging on part of the fabric, apparently against where someone else was pulling.

He stops. "'Ooooh'?" What was that 'oooh', Wing? Should he be jealous? Is Fracas's hand in a Drift-only zone?
winged_knight: (facepalm cute)

I am no better and I have no excuse!

[personal profile] winged_knight 2013-07-10 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Wing is not exactly being helpful but it's kind of hard to really contribute to the conversation under all this curtain and vehicon.

"You should stay, we don't have people drop in very often. And uh--" Wing grunts slightly as he tries to help tug on the section surrounding Fracas's wings. "--never with this much style."

Hopefully Drift hasn't uncovered any of the Questionable Literature in the process of his novel built urban sprawling; that could lead to odd questions later.

Except there's odd questions now, with all the 'ohhhing' going on. "No I meant 'Oooh?!' not "OooOOoOooh!!" There's totally a difference, can you hear it?

One day Wing is going to get like actual bookshelves and that will put an end to Drift and his Paperback Empire. And no, Drift hasn't made a big study of the books....except the parts where the books fall open to certain passages.

Drift had thought anything would be better than addressing the issue of, you know, him trying to kill the new arrival, but, yeah, this wasn't much better. Live and learn. And try to unwrap your gift Vehicon?

"I think he doesn't have much choice but to stay right now." How the frag did he get so tangled up? You know what it was? the fringe. Drift bets that the problem is all that fringe on the curtains getting stuck on Fracas's, well....pointy!bits.

He squints around the mass of squirming fabric at Wing. No. That does not help clear it up at all. Especially making the sexy noise.

Bookshelves? That's crazy talk. Wing's gone a year without them, why get them now? Though, the fact that his room now houses two instead of one might have something to do with that.

"That's right," not that Wing is done making accidental sexy noises yet today. However, he is ready to admit that though he loves the gauziness of the silk and how it catches the wind, maybe the tassels are a bit much. He's about say if the curtains come out of this fringe-free then that's fine, except that's when Fracas starts with all the squirming to get free. What was a perfectly dignified word becomes out an indelicate squeak, and then a giggle he tries to stifle which is interrupted by a gasp as he dodges the swing of those wings near his face. "Y-you might have gotten it stuck in your transformation seams, maybe?" Wing does recall the sound of the transformation happening, he thinks.

He returns Drift's look with one of pure innocence, save the slight eye twitch as Fracas wiggles around. No there's nothing distracting about that at all.

"It's fine Fracas, as excitement goes around here this is probably one of my preferred varieties." The kind where no one ends up hurt. "Flying isn't easy to master."

scuse me while I godmod the curtain

[personal profile] sword_redemption 2013-07-12 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Drift is trying to understand how all of a sudden they're all talking about vowels. This day. Already.

His mouth flattens into a scowl at that squeak. Nobody makes the jet squeak except him, Fracas. He tries to tug the vehicon off of Wing, because grrr, but either Fracas is heavier than he looks or Wing's somehow tangled up, too.

"Since when can you fly?" Not 'fly well' apparently. "You let Shockwave at you or something?"
winged_knight: (upset: shock/hurt)

ACK I thought I replied to this! /flails

[personal profile] winged_knight 2013-07-17 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
It's certainly going to be a memorable day, that is for certain.

Given the number of spiky protrusions Wing's got, being stuck on something has a pretty high likelihood. He shifts as Drift pulls, somehow managing to free something hooked around a knee stabalizer and skirting panel, but his exclamation of victory as it pulls loose turns into an eep and a grunt as the vehicon lands in a sprawl over his belly.

Wow Drift, that comment about Shockwave does not sound right. Wing clearly needs to get his processor out of the gutter.

"Knock Out reconfigured you?" Well, Wing's not going to say no to more fliers being around, just, preferably ones that do less crashing. He may have to do something about that. "And gave you a repaint too..."

Everyone would best be served if minds were removed from gutters.

And Drift would like it if Fracas's hands were removed from Wing's body. Nothing personal, Fracas.

But these are Wing's favorite curtains, so he is going to try his best to keep them intact, untangling the very last bits of fringe from Fracas's legs. "Knock Out? Really?" His tone may be questioning Fracas's sanity.

HA, Wing's shipping instincts prove right once again! If he knew he might do a little victory fist pump...

Wing doesn't mind the sprawling or errant hands or-- well okay maybe THAT tickles a little STOP-- and seems to be more amused by it all than embarrassed. He's just hoping Fracas doesn't notice the warmth of his plating--which was that way before the vehicon arrived and the pile-o-robot shenanigans haven't exactly cooled things off. All the more reason to help new flyer get to his feet, or at least find a safe spot seated on the berth.

"I...didn't actually know that. He does fine work, from what I can tell." Yes maybe he's looking, but it's the judgmental eye of a fellow flyer not a leering admirer. Maybe later, Fracas. And then his processor catches up with the conversation. "Oh. So this is your way of hiding from him?"

Wing's not mad. But there's the sound of disappointment inside the understanding.
