The more he looked, the more he discovered, the clearer it was that Magnus was nowhere to be found. That Saber was gone and that his room was empty again because his roommate went missing too. Blurr got as close to the badlands as he could looking for them but he came back to the Haven alone each time.

He wanted to explore further but due to all the recent events he was always afraid of leaving for too long. There was always some problem or another. Barricade told him that he had to reduce his stress levels and Blurr, for once, tried to listen. He worked at the bar almost each night now, trying to keep his mind occupied.

[At the bar - Middle of the night]

Drinks, drinks and more drinks. When Blurr was not mixing drink or cleaning, he was juggling cubes at a very high speed to increase his reflexes. He still needed some more practice mixing different grades of energon but at least nothing exploded anymore.

[Closing - late night]

Fun was over and it was time to restock the bar, clean and make sure that those who were too overcharged could find their way out. Blurr rubbed his helm, tired, and looked around. Then up. Then he frowned.

How that cube got stuck to the ceiling he had no idea but it was going to be a pain to get out. Even while standing on the counter and stretching his arms he was too short to reach it.

Skyfire didn't go to the bar very often, much less stay until it was so late. But, sometimes, it did happen. It was a combination of circumstances, really. Part of it was that he didn't have much else to do. Another part was that it made him feel nostalgic, in a way; it was almost like before the war, when he was still in his own planet and not at war and could use his own free time to go for a drink if he felt like it. It also helped that his size made it very easy to hold his high-grade.

So he was still quite sober when he finally decided that it was getting late and he should probably go back to Trion's temple. He was on his way out when he saw Blurr looking up at the cube on the ceiling.

"Need help with that?"

Blurr was so focused on getting that cube out of the ceiling that he missed the other mech approaching. An unusual thing to miss, considering Skyfire's size. The racer was standing on his tiptoes, the pointy tip of his wheels were the only part of his feet on the counter.

"AH!" The question startled him and Blurr lost his balance, arms flailing as he felt himself falling back.

"Ah - sorry!"

Skyfire rushed forward and held out his arm to try and catch Blurr. Well. So much for good intentions...

"I didn't mean to startle you," he apologized. "I just... ah, I could reach that cube for you."

Blurr blinked in confusion when he did not hit the ground as he was expecting. Then he let go a relieved sigh and looked up at Skyfire. "Thank you, that was close. Ididnthearyoucoming."

"It's all right. I guess that was a little too sudden..." Skyfire said as he let go of Blurr, once he was sure the other mech had recovered his balance.

Then he decided to make himself useful, instead of just rambling like that. He reached out for the cube that was still stuck on the ceiling and placed it on the counter.

"There."

"Thank you." He took the cube from the other mechs hands with a smile, feeling rather embarrassed. "I was closing but if you want a drink it's on me."

"Really?" He grinned. "I'd like that."

True, he'd been here a while already, but spending time with a friend was much better than drinking alone.

"Of course. Is the least I can do." After all he would be in a lot of pain if it weren't for Skyfire. "Take a seat please"

Blurr throws the cube in the nearest disposal container and looks for some of the bright red energon cubes. He figures that someone as big as Skyfire might need more than one to feel satisfied.

"How have you been doing?"

"Thank you."

He made himself comfortable and received the new cube with a smile. Blurr was right; he could still have a couple more drinks.

"I've been all right. Keeping myself busy," he replied. "I have been working with the plant samples that Jetfire brought from his trip off-planet."

Which, in Skyfire-speak, meant he was having fun.

He will have as many as he wants. "Oh, you two talk? It's not weird for you?"

Being busy with work is fun for Blurr too, he understands.

"It was strange at first," Skyfire had to admit. Arriving to this Cybertron was shocking enough, and then one of the first mechs who talked to him just happened to be an alternate version of himself... It was a lot to take in.

But then he couldn't hold back a grin.

"It turned out that one of the things we have in common is that we're both very curious, though. So of course we had to compare notes."

"I can imagine. I would like to talk to my alternate if one of them ever ends here too." It would be an interesting experience for sure.

"You both like science, I take it?" It was more of an affirmation than a question.

"I hope you do have the chance. It's quite fascinating."

He just had to chuckle at the other question.

"We've worked in different fields, but yes, that's true," he replied. "Does it really show that much?"

"Perhaps one day. A lot of strange things happen in this place." Strange didn't cover it. Blurr still liked living here, even fi ti was not his real homeplanet.

"Just a tiny it. But shhh don't worry I won't tell anybody." He winked at the bigger mech, smirking.

Skyfire didn't even try to hold back a laugh at that - and it wasn't just the high grade. It was nice to have some friendly teasing, for a change. He certainly needed more light-hearted moments like this.

"It's good to know my secret's safe," he chuckled.

Laughing is good for the health. Blurr thinks everyone should laugh more often, him included.

"Ex-Elite Guard agent here. Secrets are my thing." Blurr gave him a military salute. The smirk was still there.

"And that's... a branch of the military, right?" Skyfire asked. He did try to keep track of these things, honestly, but sometimes it was just too much.

"We don't have that in my world. Or, at least, we didn't in my time."

"Yes sir, the Cybertron Elite Guard is the pinnacle of the Autobot military force." If Blurr sounded proud it was because he was.

"Do you have at least some sort of Police?"

"We did before the war, at least," he confirmed. "But now... well. Cybertron is nearly empty, and those of us on Earth aren't enough to justify it. Prime tries to work alongside with human authorities, too."

"Ah, right. You are from one of those universe were the war causes Cybertron's downfall. ImsorryIdidnotknow." Blurr needs to realize that mostly only in his universe the war ended with the Autobots's victory.

"It's all right." He shook his head a little, with a tiny small. "In fact, it's good to be reminded that it didn't happen the same way everywhere. It could mean that we might still have a chance after all."

The blue mech relaxed marginally, nodding in agreement. "There's always place for peace, I believe. Some times it's just hard to find."

"I like to think so, too."

It was good to hear that from someone else. Most mechs he knew seemed to believe he was too optimistic for holding that opinion.

"This is a fresh start, in a way," he mused. "I wonder if we'll be able to make something better of it."

Blurr was not like most mech, he wasn't suited for battle and he rather solved conflict in a more quick and less violent way.

"We don't have all that many options. I don't really want another War and I doubt the FirstForget wants that either."

That was wonderful, as far as Skyfire was concerned. He certainly needed more friends who thought like that.

"I agree. I just hope it does work out that way."
