Intrepid explorers!

WHO: Blurr and Cliffjumper
WHERE: Out in the wilderness, in a building they've found.
WHEN: Now~
WHAT: ADVENTURE. Exploring! TRAPS. So many traps.
WARNINGS: Nothing, really.

The structure had looked like a heap of boulders or a small hill at first, but when they got closer it was obvious it wasn't. Question was just what a building, especially a somewhat disguised one was doing out here in the middle of the literal nowhere.

Frowning as he landed from having had a look from the top, Cliffjumper shrugged.

"Either it ain't too big, or it might go down underground." It might be bigger inside, otherwise it couldn't hold more than at the most three rooms, maybe. Three kind of small rooms for someone of average size, three average rooms for someone his and Blurr's size.

"... So, what'd we do?" He couldn't help the scowl as he eyed the rather well-disguised entrance. He just didn't trust this situation, the building, whatever might be inside... but he also didn't feel it safe to just leave the building without having checked said inside.

Annoyed, Cliffjumper gave a last grunt and then nodded, shuffling aside to let Blurr have a spot so he could reach the lever as well.

The door was obviously large enough for mechs of average size to get through, but there was, after all, only so much space offered right at the lever.

"Probably, considerin' the way the door sounded when it opened." Though it had been damn quiet when it closed on them, the fragging thing.

Blurr actually had quite the big hands, he tried to get a good grip on the level without disturbing Cliffjumper too much.

"Exactly." Damn doors, Those were nearly as bad as walls, if you wanted Blurr's opinion."on the count of three. 1, 2..3!" The was a loud 'CLANK' when they applied force and this time they were able to push open the door more easily.

The room was dark and it was hard to tell what it was inside. The only light came from one of the walls where there was a small red beacon that flickered from time to time. Blurr's headlights were still activated but somehow their light couldn't illuminate anything inside the room. It was as if the room absorbed light. "That's not normal."

Frowning into the darkness from the doorway, Cliffjumper held onto the doorframe and leaned in. Even that didn't make him particularly able to see anything more than the literal black nothing that stubbornly refused to be lighted up.

"No, it ain't. Maybe we should try another door..." But that also didn't seem right. They should try to check out the place, not just try to get out. Who knew what was in here after all, in any of these rooms... Cliffjumper shifted backwards, straightening from leaning into the room and fully intending to at least leave that room for now if not close the door.

And then the floor in front of the doorway, the floor they were standing on shifted.

"The frag---" Swearing, Cliffjumper grabbed for the frame again, flailing as he lost footing and stumbled forwards into the room.

A different room seemed like a good idea but it was an irresponsible one. Blurr was not so easily to scare. Unless the walls started moving, that's it.

But instead of the walls it was the floor. It made Blurr just as unhappy. He reached out to grab Cliff but he had lost his balance too and almost fell on top of the red mech.

Actually, scratch the 'almost'.

"...sorry."

Grunting from his suddenly position on the floor, inside the room, the door now - obviously - closed, Cliffjumper shook his helm.

"Ain't heavy enough to flatten me, but if you could get off..." said Cliffjumper, the light tone obvious; he hardly faulted Blurr for falling in after him or on top of him.

"Just gotta figure a way out of here now." In a pitch-black room where their headlights didn't seem to penetrate further than a hand's span away, and a blinky red light on the wall.

Blurr wasn't heavy enough to flatten anything but he still felt back. He gave Cliff a sheepish look, doubting if the other bot could see it, and moved. He offered Cliffjumper's a hand so he could stand up.

"Assuming there are two doors. Or a way out somewhere. I can't see further than my arm." Blurr started to hear a strange sound too, like something shifting and moving. A second later a sharp blade slashed through the air and it was us thanks to Blurr's super speed that the pendulum didn't cut him in half.

"FRAG--!"

"Yeah, this darkness ain't gonna make it any easier to get out---" It's so fun to get off the floor after a tumble and then fall down again.

"Fraggin' sludge-sucking---" Groaning and rubbing his helm as he glanced up, optics overly bright Cliffjumper muttered a few more choice swears. "Primus. Not this scrap again." The bare light unable to really get a good idea of things, but...

Well, it wasn't too hard to now hear the constant swooshing of swinging, bladed pendulums. And Cliffjumper couldn't shake the sense of deja vu he'd suddenly been struck with.

"Wish it was fraggin' brighter in here... But if we're careful, they might not reach us?" And they'd need to figure out on what tracks and distances the things were swinging on.

Fun as hell. The only reason Blurr's not laughing is because he's busy cursing internally. He's crouching on the floor just in case that hign moves closer to them one more time.

"WhatdoyoumeanAGAIN!?" Is this a normal occurrence in your life, Cliff? Blurr is making a mental note to never go with you anywhere else ever again.

"We need to move closer to the walls."

Need a better sense of humour, Blurr! Not that Cliffjumper's laughing either.

Shrugging as he carefully got to his knees and crouched on the floor instead of lying down on it, Cliffjumper didn't really know what to tell Blurr.

"Somethin'... Well, I've been through a lot of crazy slag, okay? But this just seems familiar..." Scowling, Cliffjumper snarled quietly and then was struck by the vague not-memory-memory image of Sideswipe bashing spears swooshing out through walls that shattered like glass when struck.

... Huh.

"Yeah, but we ain't gonna have much luck like this---gah!" Unthinkingly, Cliffjumper had started to get to his feet and thus leaned backwards a bit, one of the large pendulum blades swinging into the path his back was in...

And neatly nearly cleaving his old, red jetpack in two. The wings were all but useless. Shuffling forwards again and swearing, Cliffjumper pulled his glass gas gun out.

"Fraggin' pit. You've got your chainsaw, right?"

That must be it, Blurr can't find the humor when it comes to rooms trying to murder him. Call him picky.

"You can tell me later when nothing is trying to kill us. Careful!" Blurr focused on paying attention to the sound so he could calculate how much time they have between swings.

"YesIDo."

Well, he'd tell you if he could remember, Blurr. It's a bit annoying, really, because he's sure he knows what happened when they went after Grimlock, but at the same time... That, however, is neither here nor there.

"Yeah. Later." With a grunt, Cliffjumper scowled and listened to the faintly vibrating swoosh of sharp metal flying past at speed... "Great. Gonna spray the closest blade or whatever it is on next pass, and then let it swing... uh, twice? and then snap the chainsaw into it, if ya can." Hopefully Blurr would be able to do that and not get hurt, because that could mean they could at least start towards a wall.

When the blade passed by next, Clffjumper just aimed in what he hoped was the right direction and far enough up, and shot a puff of gas out.

Something happened with his memories? That can't be good for cliffjumper.

"I can do that." Probably. He's going to try either way, because it's either trying or get offlined in there. Blurr dodges the blade and moves away from Cliffjumper's gas just in case.

"If my calculations _{are correct the blade} will appear again in 5.17 seconds." Blurr quickly transformed his right arm and then crouched. When the vibrating swoosh started to be heard, he jumped, arm swinging.

Blurr hopes you were covering yourself, Cliff, because that blade just broke into a million pieces.

Indeed it did! Not that he... precisely... remembers that.

Cliffjumper was covering himself, since he was well aware of how his glass gas worked and what would happen when metal affected by it was struck... especially when the metal was moving at speed.

He ended up swearing nontheless, and couldn't quite stop a slight wince as he felt tiny pieces of metal bounce off his armour with pinking noises.

At least he didn't get a piece stuck somewhere like... last time?

"Fraggin' hell. We gotta be careful so we don't get any pieces somewhere sensitive." Cliffjumper got up straight again and held up the gun, ready for another go. "'Cause while it's almost like glass when affected, if one of those peices get into something like a joint at speed and ya move, it's gonna bury in there and shatter."

And he has the strangest feeling he knows exactly what that feels like, but can't pick out the exact event or situation it would've happened in.

Well damn. Those are bad news.

Blurr could only narrow his eyes. He had to make sure he hit the blade but he didn't want any piece of it in his optics.

"I will have to check myself later, there's pieces everywhere. HOWMANYOFTHOSETHINGS do you think are left? I can hear another one but it sounds muted..." Blurr tugged at Cliffjumper's arm. "We should move now that we can."

Cliff your past life sucked.

"Try top brush yourself off, oughta be enough." Hopefully. Getting up to his feet, Cliffjumper scowled, squinting - quite unnecessarily - into the darkness. "Well, I doubt there's just two of 'em, that wouldn't make a very effective death trap..." Coming along with Blurr's tugging, Cliffjumper pointed at the only light visible beyond their immediate circle of headlights.

"Should aim for that thing, I think. Must be there for some reason." Which also made him want to just go back for the door, which he was rather sure they should be able to find even now, because that light was just suspicious. But it could also be the way to turn this trap off.

Hey, it was just one trip into a death-trap labyrinth with the thing that ignites negative polarity frames with embers! Not their fault it didn't want its location to be remembered!

He did just that, being careful with the really little pieces. The brief glow of his weapon didn't light much either, the darkness of the room was still too much for any light source. Except for the red one, yes.

"It's too high for us to reach it unless I help you jump and doing that implies that you get slashes in half by a blade, which I guess that's the reason why they put the light so high up."

...

I am not going to dignify that with a response.

"Yeah, but we can get rid of the blade," said Cliffjumper with a little grin and wiggled his glass gas gun to demonstrate. They could even get rid of the long pole/handle the blade was attached to if they were in risk of being whacked with it.

"As long as we're careful and listen, I should be able to spray all the blades in our way and you can crack 'em." Had they not had the tools they did, this room would have been decidedly lethal... not that it couldn't still be, if they misjudged something, given the darkness.

Wow, rude. They didn't know it was in there and they had to find Grimlock and catch him!

"In time? That's the part that worries me." But it wasn't like they had many options left, this will had to work.

"Alright. The light's pretty high, do you want to use my back as a ladder and then I jump to break it?"

Okay, point. but v are always bad business.

"Well, as long as you wait half a klik or so, the gas'll have a chance to set in, and while it probably ain't a good idea to let the blade hit ya even when affected, if it does, at least it's gonna shatter, not slice anythin' off?" Not... that much of a reassurance, but well. Better than nothing?

"Okay. Ready?" Hefting his gun, Cliffjumper carefully slid in front of Blurr, frowning into the darkness. Adjusting the dial on the gun before releasing a puff of gas that spread like slow mist in front of them, it made the gas hang around long enough for the next pendulum blade to swing into the gas before it dispersed.

"I got my whole arm sliced off once, it's no fun, trust me. But as long as my legs end intact, I don't mind." Stupid Prime!Starscream with stupid long, sharp claws.

"Ready." Blurr observed and waited, as Cliffjumper suggested. A few clicks later when the blade appeared to get close again Blurr jumped and hit it with his saw as hard as he could, hopping to break the whole mechanism in the process instead of his own arm.

Cliffjumper grimaced at the mention of getting an arm sliced off and nodded.

"A leg or two busted makes things harder than an arm bein' that. Slagged legs just mean ya can't actually move and get away if needed..." Cliffjumper trailed off, waiting in the silence and then ended up swearing and ducking as Blurr did indeed break the blade and a good part of the pole the blade was attached to as well.

Shards went everywhere as the lethal pendulum shattered, and Cliffjumper realised that Sideswipe's batons had been a better implement to do this with, since at least a baton was a still, solid object; a chainsaw moved and sent sharp, if brittle, shards everywhere.

"... I think ya killed it dead, Blurr," said with a snigger, even if he was looking so that he hadn't got any shards lodged anywhere. He remembered the pain of a sliver breaking off in his knee-joint... Except when had that happened?

Shaking his helm, he straightened up again. Time to move on.

You didn't have to tell Blurr, Cliff. He would be as good as dead if he lost a leg. He rather die than let that happen.

Even if he tried to close his optics in time and duck his head, some of the sharps still on his neck and down his chest. Blurr didn't worry too much, he knew his body would heal those in time and he wouldn't even need a medic but, Primus, those stung.

"Cant' never be too sure, blades are sneaky like that." He smiled and then winced when he moved. "Areyouokay?"

Giving himself a last once-over in their limited lighting, Cliffjumper shrugged, the faintly confused frown smoothing out for dismissal. It didn't matter when or where it had happened. Not right now anyway.

"Yeah, sure. Let's go."

It was a bit of a slow going, spraying things in front, waiting for the gas to take effect and then let Blurr get in front of him and smash them on the next pass, but they did make it to the wall, and thus, close to the (first) goal of the blinking red light on the wall.

Blurr's headlights moved up and down over Cliff's frame but their light was still unable to light up more than that. He stood close to the wall, under the light, inspecting it from the distance.

Seeing it closer was different then seeing from the other side of the room. He could tell that the glass was thick. Hopefully it'd make no difference to cliff's gas.

"Your jetpact is useless now, right? I will have to throw you."

It was, really, still disconcerting how much the light from their headlights and optics were simmply absorbed by the darkness, but at least that blinking light gave off enough to be able to see the structure around it.

"Looks like there might be somethin' attached to that light---what?" Cliffjumper hissed, turning around to stare at Blurr confused and maybe a little warily. "Yeah, it is, but wouldn't it be easier if one of us... I dunno, lift the other? Shouldn't be impossible." Because while he wouldn't mind overly much being tossed if it was necessary, in this situation, with the majority of the pendulum blades still working?

Yes, he didn't potentially want to go flying into one of the whole ones.
