Intrepid explorers!
WHO: Blurr and Cliffjumper
WHERE: Out in the wilderness, in a building they've found.
WHEN: Now~
WHAT: ADVENTURE. Exploring! TRAPS. So many traps.
WARNINGS: Nothing, really.
The structure had looked like a heap of boulders or a small hill at first, but when they got closer it was obvious it wasn't. Question was just what a building, especially a somewhat disguised one was doing out here in the middle of the literal nowhere.
Frowning as he landed from having had a look from the top, Cliffjumper shrugged.
"Either it ain't too big, or it might go down underground." It might be bigger inside, otherwise it couldn't hold more than at the most three rooms, maybe. Three kind of small rooms for someone of average size, three average rooms for someone his and Blurr's size.
"... So, what'd we do?" He couldn't help the scowl as he eyed the rather well-disguised entrance. He just didn't trust this situation, the building, whatever might be inside... but he also didn't feel it safe to just leave the building without having checked said inside.

Blurr could only narrow his eyes. He had to make sure he hit the blade but he didn't want any piece of it in his optics.
"I will have to check myself later, there's pieces everywhere. HOWMANYOFTHOSETHINGS do you think are left? I can hear another one but it sounds muted..." Blurr tugged at Cliffjumper's arm. "We should move now that we can."
Cliff your past life sucked.
no subject
"Should aim for that thing, I think. Must be there for some reason." Which also made him want to just go back for the door, which he was rather sure they should be able to find even now, because that light was just suspicious. But it could also be the way to turn this trap off.
Hey, it was just one trip into a death-trap labyrinth with the thing that ignites negative polarity frames with embers! Not their fault it didn't want its location to be remembered!
no subject
"It's too high for us to reach it unless I help you jump and doing that implies that you get slashes in half by a blade, which I guess that's the reason why they put the light so high up."
...
I am not going to dignify that with a response.
no subject
"As long as we're careful and listen, I should be able to spray all the blades in our way and you can crack 'em." Had they not had the tools they did, this room would have been decidedly lethal... not that it couldn't still be, if they misjudged something, given the darkness.
Wow, rude. They didn't know it was in there and they had to find Grimlock and catch him!
no subject
"Alright. The light's pretty high, do you want to use my back as a ladder and then I jump to break it?"
Okay, point. but v are always bad business.
no subject
"Okay. Ready?" Hefting his gun, Cliffjumper carefully slid in front of Blurr, frowning into the darkness. Adjusting the dial on the gun before releasing a puff of gas that spread like slow mist in front of them, it made the gas hang around long enough for the next pendulum blade to swing into the gas before it dispersed.
no subject
"Ready." Blurr observed and waited, as Cliffjumper suggested. A few clicks later when the blade appeared to get close again Blurr jumped and hit it with his saw as hard as he could, hopping to break the whole mechanism in the process instead of his own arm.
no subject
"A leg or two busted makes things harder than an arm bein' that. Slagged legs just mean ya can't actually move and get away if needed..." Cliffjumper trailed off, waiting in the silence and then ended up swearing and ducking as Blurr did indeed break the blade and a good part of the pole the blade was attached to as well.
Shards went everywhere as the lethal pendulum shattered, and Cliffjumper realised that Sideswipe's batons had been a better implement to do this with, since at least a baton was a still, solid object; a chainsaw moved and sent sharp, if brittle, shards everywhere.
"... I think ya killed it dead, Blurr," said with a snigger, even if he was looking so that he hadn't got any shards lodged anywhere. He remembered the pain of a sliver breaking off in his knee-joint... Except when had that happened?
Shaking his helm, he straightened up again. Time to move on.
no subject
Even if he tried to close his optics in time and duck his head, some of the sharps still on his neck and down his chest. Blurr didn't worry too much, he knew his body would heal those in time and he wouldn't even need a medic but, Primus, those stung.
"Cant' never be too sure, blades are sneaky like that." He smiled and then winced when he moved. "Areyouokay?"
no subject
"Yeah, sure. Let's go."
It was a bit of a slow going, spraying things in front, waiting for the gas to take effect and then let Blurr get in front of him and smash them on the next pass, but they did make it to the wall, and thus, close to the (first) goal of the blinking red light on the wall.
no subject
Seeing it closer was different then seeing from the other side of the room. He could tell that the glass was thick. Hopefully it'd make no difference to cliff's gas.
"Your jetpact is useless now, right? I will have to throw you."
no subject
"Looks like there might be somethin' attached to that light---what?" Cliffjumper hissed, turning around to stare at Blurr confused and maybe a little warily. "Yeah, it is, but wouldn't it be easier if one of us... I dunno, lift the other? Shouldn't be impossible." Because while he wouldn't mind overly much being tossed if it was necessary, in this situation, with the majority of the pendulum blades still working?
Yes, he didn't potentially want to go flying into one of the whole ones.
no subject
"I was asking just in case something worse than blades happens when we destroy that light. I mean, I can run if something moves around us very quickly, but you..."
Granted, Blurr could try to grab Cliffjumper and drag him away from whatever attacks them but the other bot might not be used to the speed and Blurr could hurt him. He looked up at the light again. "It looks really far away I'm not sure if you will be able to reach it unless you stand on my shoulders."
no subject
Cliffjumper also looked up at the light again, trying to gauge the distance from them up to it, and sighed.
"Yeah, that thing looks like it's high enough up even if one of us stands on the other's shoulders this'll be an issue... Gimmie an astro." Even as he spoke Cliffjumper crouched down, pulling out pieces to a sniper rifle and putting it together.
No, like Blurr had wanted he hadn't brought all his weapons, but he did have a bomb, his glass gas gun, and in lieu of the cannon, the rifle. Standing up again, he held it up.
"Should be able to reach with this, though." Seemed a bit crude to use such a fine piece of offensive hardware as a bludgeon, but they needed to reach the light and see if it did something if it was destroyed, so, well.
no subject
Blurr was reconsidering his decision about not bringing a ton of weapons. If they survive, the next time he won't complain if Cliffjumper decide to bring them all.
"Good enough."
Blurr smiled before turning back and crouching for Cliff to get over him more easily.
no subject
"Okay, that oughta do it." The gas wouldn't affect the glass that probably covered the light itself, but the metal of the panel around it, which should be enough to see what it did.
"Well, let's hope this works..." Eyeing Blurr a bit dubiously, Cliffjumper nonetheless put his glass gas gun away and hung the rifle over his back before as carefully as he could climbing up and, when he was sure he was stable, got the rifle in hand and slammed it into the light and the surrounding metal.
no subject
...the lights went on.
no subject
"... Well, that... worked? Dunno what this is though." Cliffjumper held up a - yes, he knew that it technically was some sort of dataslug, obviously but still - small cylinder with data connections in one end.
You'd think it was a bomb, the way he was eyeing it, even as his gaze flicked away to check the room. Getting out now that they could see all the pendulum blades would be simple.
no subject
"I d-don't know hat is it either but what if we check that OUTSIDE? Please." He pointed to the other side of the room. "Thedoorsopenletsgoletsgo." He has to stop himself from running away, dragging Cliffjumper with him. There could be roe traps on the floor, for all they know.
no subject
"Uh-- Yeah, sure, we can do that. Looks safe, but we should probably not run." Cliffjumper eyed the blades hanging still with narrowed optics, but shook his helm and started to weave between any of the whole ones, glass gas gun still at the ready.
Even if it wouldn't affect the metal immediately, it was something.
They did get out of the room without any issues, though, and at least they wouldn't accidentally go into it again, the trap broken now or not; the door remained open behind them.
no subject
He walked close to Cliff, senses alert and chainsaw ready in case something attacked them. Once out, Blurr stared at the rows of close doors warily.
"We are back to square one. I don't really feel like getting into any other room." But the main door was still locked, wasn't it? The racer glared at it. "I guess bombs are still an option."
no subject
Standing up, Cliffjumper eyed the door, the bomb and the room around them. This place wa sprobably fragging sturdily built, but he still hoped the bunker wouldn't fall down on their heads.
"Okay, ready? I'll detonate it when we're in there." Giving a nod to the still open pendulum-blade room behind them, Cliffjumper hoped the explosion wouldn't shake the blades loose and drop those on their heads either.
But that wasn't enough to stop him, because really, he didn't particularly feel like trying another room either.
no subject
He keep his optics up, glaring at the blades and ready to drag Cliff away if one of those fell down due to the explosion. He was almost sure that he would be faster than the blades if it get to that. Almost.
no subject
So they'd just have to hope if something did start to collapse, they'd see it if not hear it.
The explosion rumbled through the floor and wall they were up against, but it was obvious the bunker had been built sturdily; none of the pendulum blades so much as vibrated, though the shrapnel Blurr and Cliffjumper had created from their glass gas spree got spread around from the pressure wave.
After a few moments, Cliffjumper onlined his audio receptors again and peeked out the doorway.
"... Nope. While the wall in the corner got some cracks, that ain't deep or spread enough..." Swearing as he walked back into the main room again, Cliffjumper turned to look at Blurr.
"Think we're gonna have to choose another room to try. Must be some other way of openin' that door."
no subject
Blurr held his chainsaw arm up, covering Cliffjumper's head and his own just in case. When everything stopped shaking, Blurr looked at the door. He was expecting to be looking at a giant hole instead. If disappointment had a face, it would look like Blurr's. He even stared back at Cliffjumper and did nothing much but linefais for a few long seconds.
