What's December Without Christmas Eve? [Tree Decorating: OPEN]

WHO: Anyone and Everyone!
WHERE: Around various parts of Haven
WHEN: From now until what counts as 'New Years' for Cybertron (New Years Day for us?)
WHAT: Tree Decorating!
WARNINGS: Infinite cute and maybe tree eating

Well, Kay and Elita had done it. It took awhile, and surprisingly, all in one night, but they'd been able to grab branches from the large crystal trees that the pink robot had grown, and placed them all around Haven. Where, specifically? Outside the temples! Really, surprised no one noticed it.  But to those who walk out of the them, they'll now notice a tree on either their right or left, empty, glittering, and with a note.

What could this mean? What's this? There's trees everywhere! What's this? And depending on what your alignment is/where you live, you'll get a different tree.

(ooc: I'll be putting comments up for each quadrant's tree. Comment under whichever one you'd like to react to/decorate/chat with people under. It's a huge mingle thread! Also, don't forget to put your tag in the log!
cliffjumper: (listening - still strange)

"... Decorate it, huh." Tilting his helm back to look up the length of the tree, Cliffjumper, compared to some of the others staring at the trees outside the various temples, instantly knows what Kay's aiming for and the reason.

He never had immense patience for Earth and humans, and it seems kind of odd to bring those traditions here, but at the same time he gets it, given that the humans here are as displaced as they were while stuck on Earth.

If anything, he wouldn't be stuck just decorating the lower parts, or having to risk climbing it, since he could use his jetpack to get to the top. Not that the tree was too giant or anything, but still.
cliffjumper: (GAH - Mirage stop sneaking up on him)

"Gah--" He'd been way too concentrated on staring up at the tree, but luckily enough he'd caught the fact that it was a little human girl before he whipped out one of his guns. It didn't stop Cliffjumper from jerking and whirling around, however.

"Uh. Not yet. Sure I could come up with somethin' though," Cliffjumper said with a grin and a shake of his helm, and any similarity Kay picked up on to someone else was... perfectly valid. Even if he's shorter.

"You're the responsible party?" Jerking a thumb back at the "tree", Cliffjumper can't help be somewhat impressed. Still, she must've had help given the size of it.
cliffjumper: (happy!)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2012-12-25 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
If he was touchier, all that laughter would've sort of torqued him off. As it was, instead, Cliffjumper huffed, arms crossed over his chestplates even as the grin stayed, widening a little after she pulled her scarf up to hide her mouth.

Cute.

Sort of reminded him of a younger Sephie.

"Well, if ya got these here all by yourself, I'd have to question if you had super powers or somethin'. Nice idea, though. Didn't know there were crystal trees 'round here." He cast a glance back and up at the tree and then back to Kay, taking a step or two closer to be able to offer his hand.

Bringing celebrations of holidays that didn't have any meaning to this planet or not, he could understand homesickness, especially during holidays like this, which had been amply displayed by the Link in the last few days.

"Let me guess, then, Kay, right? Cliffjumper." And then he snorted, shaking his helm. "Or the other one at any rate, since I know there was an alternate around..." Which hadn't really registered as weird at all, given all the slag he'd seen over the last few years.
cliffjumper: (reasonable - next comes the gun)

He wasn't sure what to make of her question about him being another alternate, but nodded after a moment, since, well, he was and had clarified it as such, given that he'd talked to his alternate himself and knew he'd been present at the least.

"I am, yeah." Then he grinned and shrugged. "And I would believe ya, as long as you could prove it; I've seen humans with superpowers of various sorts."

But it really didn't surprise him that she had had help.
cliffjumper: (smirk - up to no good)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2012-12-29 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
He chuckled and nodded.

"Nice to meet you, then, Kay. An' well, usually nothing's concrete without evidence. There's some things I'd give exceptions to, but..." He shrugged, not necessarily about to go into his... ahem... issues with Decepticons at the moment.

Though, given everything, he is one of the few cybertronians currently present with a decent idea of what humans can and can't do, as well as their culture and similar, given that he's spent at least ten years on Earth.

"So..." Cliffjumper trailed off and grinned. "Do you have any super powers?" He was rather sure she didn't, but teasingly asking would harm nothing.
cliffjumper: (just talking - for once I'm planning)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2012-12-29 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, that's kinda unbalanced, isn't it?" Cliffjumper shrugged, glanced up at the top of the crystal "tree", and then back at Kay, frowning thoughtfully. Then, pulling out a number of light-rods that would be activated by snapping them in half and some wiring, Cliffjumper tied it all together in a pretty good likeliness of a stylized star. The rods were technically emergency measures if you were injured and couldn't keep your headlights going and would burn for a few days, but finding more to replace them shouldn't be impossible.

"A christmas tree should have a star, right? Ya won't be flyin' by yourself, but wanna help me get it up there?" He nodded up at the top of the empty tree, offering Kay the improvised star as he unfolded his jetpack.
cliffjumper: (smile - sweeter than usual)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2012-12-30 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
A smile got drawn out of Cliffjumper at Kay's obvious surprise, at first for what he was doing, and secondly when he offered her to help. So he just kept his hand out and waited for her to get over her surprise.

"Yeah, sure. If ya want to. I'll keep us steady and you can attach it. Shouldn't be too large or cumbersome for you to carry, and I can help balance it if it is."
cliffjumper: (Wave Crusher - flying)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2012-12-31 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Grinning, Cliffjumper hands over the makeshift star, which, despite its brightness, is perfectly cool to the touch. A bit of heat would obviously not matter to a cybertronian, but he wouldn't have given it over if those emergency lightrods would've become hot in use. He does know how much a human can stand regarding heat before getting burned, after all.

"Great, let's get up there then." He's not as tall as some others, so after some hesitation he scoots Kay down his arm, trapping her between arm and his chestplates instead. It feels more secure than having her sit on a hand that while reasonably large enough to handle that, doesn't seem secure enough when he's going to get up in the air.

Which he does, easily lifting off from the ground with a small jump, circling the crystal tree several times before inching closer, frowning. He needs to be careful here, since he doesn't want to crash them into the tree. At least the vibration from the jetpack should be mostly cushioned away, and Kay would probably feel the faint hum of his own engine working instead rather than being rattled by the jetpack, but the noise there isn't a lot to do about.
cliffjumper: (thumbs up! - CJ approves of this)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2013-01-01 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"If ya want, we can take a bit longer to get down after you get the star up." It's not just an idle comment; he can easily tell Kay's excited, this close, partly because he's got a casual scan on her just to be sure he doesn't accidentally grip to hard or anything, and partly because of her body language. He's used to humans, yes, but caution is best.

And you were supposed to do nice things around Christmas, right? He keeps in the snort and concentrates on getting close enough to the top of the tree without flying into any of the short, upright branches so Kay can attach the star.
cliffjumper: (reasonable - next comes the gun)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2013-01-01 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Laughing, Cliffjumper somehow still manages to keep them steady while Kay makes sure the star gets stuck on top of the tree. He does end up having to shift his grip to hold her out with both his hands, so that she's briefly hovering in the air between the tree and Cliffjumper.

He doesn't feel too comfortable doing that, but he's keeping himself steady, and the tree is much too sturdy to sway, even if there was a good wind blowing, which there isn't.

"Ready, Kay?"

And he has to admit, as she gets the makeshift star up there, that along with the crystal itself, the light bouncing around is really pretty.
cliffjumper: (grin - sure let's go)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2013-01-02 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Giving her a grin and a brief, sloppy salute as he settled her back against his chestplates, Cliffjumper backed away from the tree, first slowly, then a little faster until he was sure he could turn around without getting any part of the jetpack trapped or crashing into any of the short branches.

"Hold on, then, and we're goin'." Not that he wasn't already holding her as he set off, judging the speed he could use against what he was reasonably sure humans could take. Not that this jetpack was capable of exceedingly huge speeds or anything, but it was fast enough for that.

Angling off around a spire, Cliffjumper dove further down the gorge Vector Prime's temple was situated in, using the walkways and towers as an impromptu flight obstacle course, mindful of the glittering threads suspended across the gorge.
cliffjumper: (Metal drop bear - coming down!)

[personal profile] cliffjumper 2013-01-03 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Compared to other mechs or designs, given that his chestplate is reasonably flat, if a bit curving, she should be able to reach fairly well.

"Tell me if it's too fast or anything like that, okay?" She's obviously excited, but they're up in the air with her literally rather unprotected, so giving a thought to that seemed like a good idea.

Going around yet another tower and between a few of the cables, Cliffjumper aim down the gorge and away from the temple to simply fly straight along it, the wind whipping against them both.

He's not a flyer and doesn't really feel any sort of urge for that sort of reformat, possible or not, but frag, using his jetpack for more than strategic moving around difficult patches was surprisingly great.
