Failure
WHO: Rung, Open~
WHERE: He's wandered into Alpha Trion's Quadrant.
WHEN Sometime after the bad session with Fortress Maximus.
WHAT: He failed at the only thing he's ever truly been good at and he feels miserable because of it.
WARNINGS: N/A
Rung felt like a failure; an absolute failure in what he was supposed to be good at. He was supposed to help Fortress Maximus, do what he could because that's what his function was, and yet he'd completely fallen apart when the other had gotten upset and instead of helping he'd probably caused more harm than good. He'd lost his composure, let his emotions come through too much, and hadn't been able to keep his own haunting memories at bay.
It was everything that therapist wasn't supposed to do.
A small voice in the back of his head reminded him, as he walked along lost in thought, that the incident was still fairly fresh--recent enough that at times he could still feel the sting of the blow to his head--but a larger voice, the more stubborn one that Rung was letting have control at the moment, argued that it didn't matter. He should have been able to put it all aside and not let it get to him. He should have been able to calm Fortress Maximus down and helped him instead of freaking out.
He'd thought about retracting his offer for the time being, since he didn't feel like he was a good enough doctor to help anyone now, but he'd already made steps with several and he couldn't--wouldn't back out on them now.
But he'd never really felt more worthless in all of his existence really.
Rung had been so lost in thought that he didn't really realize where he'd ended up until he finally caught sight of a lake, the therapist's optics flickering as he slowed to a stop, staring out over the waters before finally looking around. It was very serene in a way, peaceful in a way that reminded him of what Blurr had said.
This must be Alpha Trion's quadrant.
Hesitating for a moment more, Rung's vents cycled softly as he pushed forward, heading down closer to the lake to just sit and..stew some more. Berate himself some more? Something like that...

"It is, very much so," he agreed, a part of him wishing that this had been the temple he'd ended up in--though he didn't have anything against Prima. This area was just quite beautiful. "How are you fairing today?" Rung asked, feeling much more collected now than he had been when he'd first arrived in the area, which was a good thing he supposed.
no subject
"Me? I'm pretty good! Well, as good as a girl can be on a giant alien planet with a bunch of robots...
But don't get me wrong! I love it here."
Even if it wasn't Los Angeles...she'd gotten terribly attached to this new world already.
no subject
Plus, he really was interested in learning more about humans and interacting with them was one way to do it right?

Her hand goes in slightly deeper, making little ripples.
"Now the biggest problem is just getting to and from places."
It works out then! Kay just adores talking with you guys.
no subject
"Yes I can see how travel in this place would be difficult for smaller beings. This planet isn't exactly designed for small individuals," he said, having never really stopped to consider it before but it must have been quite difficult for a lot of them.
Especially Four.
"I'm certain there are those that would give you a ride though, yes?" Rung asked, watching her hand as it dipped further into the water.
no subject
"Yeah, I'm getting a workout walking everywhere though! Still, I hate asking some of you guys for rides. It seems rude..."
no subject
Because it was just another form of helping people and that's what he liked doing after all.
no subject
"Well, is there anything I can do for you?"
no subject
"I really do, yes. Anytime, assuming I'm not with a patient, I'll be more than happy to give you a lift," he said in a slight nod to reaffirm what he was saying. The therapist considered what she asked for a brief moment before tilting his head. "Perhaps you could tell me about Earth in exchange? I never visited the planet like many of my crew mates did."
no subject
"That's so nice of you...! I'd love to tell you about Earth! It's nowhere near as cool as this place, but... well, I'll do my best!"
But something else catches her attention.
"You're a doctor too?"
no subject
"It's been my job for quite a long time now and I truly love doing it because it allows me to help others."
no subject
Is this making sense?"
She's looking to and from both of her hands, as if deciding if Point A matched Point B in her reasoning.
no subject
"I understand what you mean. For being so different, our species have quite a bit in common in the way we do things and act," he mused, tilting his head as he watched her looking between her hands, optics flickering in an amused way.
no subject
You have feelings. It's...it's nice. I can't wait to tell them back on Earth."
no subject
Because that meant that she'd had good experiences with the Cyertronians and other non-organics here and that pleased Rung. Like he'd said to Ventus, he truly did hope this place could be a peaceful one for all of them.
"What was your home on Earth like, since we're already talking about Earth a bit."
no subject
She stood up, starting to walk along the edge of the lake, right where the ground dropped off into straight water.
"Let's see. Do you know what Earth looks like?"
no subject
no subject
She hurries over to a more 'beachy' part of the lake, going to the wet sand/dirt and taking off her glove. She etches a circle into it, wide enough for Rung to see as she starts putting in the continents as she knows them. Once North America is shown, she puts a dot right at Southern California.
"I'm from here."
no subject
"Interesting. So...what's in between all the continents? Water?" he found himself asking, motioning to the gaps as he walks a bit closer, kneeling down just behind the girl a bit.
no subject
She took a moment to study the picture for a moment, before drawing a much smaller sphere next to it.
"That's our moon"
no subject
Sometime.
His gaze shifted to the new part of the drawing and he nodded some.
"So your planet has one. Is that the only one?"
no subject
At the question about the moon, she looked at her picture again, tilting her head.
"I think so. I don't remember a second moon...but, if you can believe it, it's what makes the tides go back and forth on the beaches right along these."
She traces her finger along the coastlines of the continents.
no subject
He could see why others--coughHoundcough--had been so intrigued by the place.
"How many humans are there inhabiting the planet?"
no subject
"I think I remember hearing a couple billion. At least 6 billion."
Look at that! School is useful for something!
