[OPEN] Showers, Swords, Nerds, and Medics
WHO: G1 Perceptor, Drift, and you!
WHERE: Solus Temple and Medibay
WHEN: Just after Perceptor's arrival
WHAT: Perceptor and Drift have to clean spider good off of them, and then Drift still needs a few repairs.
WARNINGS: Awkward nerd is awkward. Otherwise, none.
NOTE: Open to anyone who might be in or around the Medibay or the temple!
By the time Drift leads him into the temple, the spider "spit" has dried into even stickier, uncomfortable patches across Perceptor's plating. It will take some considerable scrubbing to get himself clean, and Drift as well. After all, Drift would not even be contaminated if Perceptor hadn't, ah, invaded Drift's personal space.
"Will there be any difficulty with my presence here?" he asked, waving toward his own Trionic mark on his arm.

"Well, of course!" Because doing otherwise would be rude! Not that he wouldn't have just started in and asked permission as he went along - or once Drift started putting up an argument... but that would have been out of absentmindedness, not guile.
But if Drift is missing being berated...
"If you are going to insist upon acting against your medic's directives - not that I am complaining, mind you, as I am quite certain that I would have been severely injured, if not deactivated, if it had not been for you - then I will make certain that you will not come to any more harm from doing so."

Though other!Drift did always wonder about those 'specimens' in the biodome."I-it's not 'against'. It's just that, well...I'm not good with being sick." Or following orders. Yeah, a bit slipsy about that, too.

But not Lawrence, the Bonsai Morphobot?Perceptor cannot help but to smile. "To say nothing of being unable to not offer your assistance and skills when they are the most apt?" he offers with a small grin.
"Be that as it may, I would appreciate the opportunity to thank you for that assistance by utilizing my skills to ensure that you are at your optimal physical condition." Have an earnest puppy look, Drift.
no subject
yyyyyeah. You see why Drift didn't trust you wandering off by yourself"....that sounds like blackmail." Sort of. In a strangely beneficent way.
As is the puppy look. "All right! All right. Just...stop that." Please.

Awww, you *wound* him! He just liked to *explore*!"Blackmail?" Perceptor blinked in surprise. "Nothing of the sort!" Is it? Oh dear, now he can't help but wonder if he's just pressured Drift into something that he really isn't comfortable with!
Okay, the puppy look may have been intentional, but the psuedo-blackmail certainly wasn't!
Perceptor shifts his gaze to the floor, thus freeing Drift from the terrors of that pleading expression. "Thank you."
"Do you, ah... require any assistance in removing the residue?"
no subject
yyyyyeah. No, Perceptor, but that's just the tactic most medics use to try to get Drift to sit still.
"I...I mean not in a bad way." You know. Good blackmail. R-right?
Drift looks down at the whitish gunk on his chassis, giving it an experimental poke. "Yeah. I could use some help or I'll end up stuck to myself."

But Perceptor never officially took that oath. He's a scientist, and was the primary medic on the Event Horizon by default, not by appointment.
"Oh. Eh-heh. Well... if it works?" he offers with a hesitant grin.
And speaking of utilizing Drift's physiology against him... Perceptor's grin widens, and he offers Drift one of the scrapers that Ratchet had handed him earlier. "While there are any number of quite interesting outcomes to such a scenario," Perceptor quips in a teasing tone, "it would be best, perhaps, if--"
This isn't his Drift. Have a very, very bashful scientist, Drift.
"Er, I beg your pardon. That was, um... inappropriate, and, ah..." Perceptor will just stammer himself to silence now.

He takes the scraper, and begins, almost gingerly, scraping it along the underside of his chassis.
And then nearly chokes. Because the comment initially sailed over his head but the frantic apology didn't. He looks confused then a little bit scared, and then bursts out laughing.
"Well, at least it's funny, now?"
no subject
At least at first.
"I do apologize, Drift," he finally offers again. "I am not ordinarily so, ah... forward, however, it has been a somewhat out-of-the-ordinary day, and I find myself retreating to familiar habits."
He pauses, flicking a bashful glance over to Drift's face, before studying the scraper still clutched in his own hands. "I realize how that sounds contradictory," he corrects, shrugging, "however, perhaps I should amend to say that I am not ordinarily so forward with, ah, one who is unfamiliar to me, and... well..."
"Even your vocal timbre is similar!"
"I do beg your pardon. It is merely that... That we were..." Close. Closer than close. "Friends, you see, and..."
And I did not expect that I would have to bid him farewell so soon.
"And I will, in all likelihood, continue to," miss him horribly, "treat you as I would him for the time being."
