A gift he really didn't want
WHO: Cliffjumper and Blurr
WHERE: The entrance hall of Vector's temple
WHEN: around now
WHAT: flight trainiiinggg
WARNINGS: none!
Cliffjumper had been a bit slow about this. Sure, there'd been another incident here and there, but nothing as bad as getting stuck on top of a tower in Vector's temple. So he'd dragged it out and preferred to ignore it.
He had a jetpack, that was more than enough!
But, really, he couldn't just leave this, because what if something happened and he had another "incident"? Or he didn't have his jetpack... then it would be useful.
So, he'd gotten Blurr to meet him in the entrance hall - inside, limited chance of getting too far up - for some training, liking it or no.
"Ugh, okay. So what... just start thinkin' 'up' to get this started?"

BLurr's going to float up instead of the side this time, they have to practice that as well.
...died. what happened there. using the tablet isn't easy P:
"Would definitely be far more easy to slaggin' stand in that case," Cliffjumper said with a huff, optics still bright from blushing as he floated up after Blurr, nasal ridge scrunched.
"This works far better, but it's still blasted annoyin'... Not sure why the gifts or whatever couldn't have been something else."
It's okay, I got it! Don't worry, it happens to me too. Tech is hard
"Very true." He keep floating away, smiling at Cliffjumper. "Our firstForged flies, are you really that surprised? I wonder what the mechs associated with Liege get."
P: It is.
"... guess that makes sense," Cliffjumper said after a moment of quiet staring, feeling vaguely dumb for not making the connection between Vector Prime's capability for flight and the glyph's giving said ability whether you were capable of flying or not.
Then he grimaced.
"I don't fraggin' want to know. That guy makes me uncomfortable, but I can't figure out why," Cliffjumper muttered, scowling as he tried to keep the distance between him and Blurr constant.
He didn't exactly manage, and kept either overshooting his own set limit or drifting behind it, but the jagged stops and starts slowly got less.
<3!
"I know Solus's powers are related to material and constructions too, with calculations involved. She creates things so it's fitting that she wants her marked to do the same."
Blurr can't blame him for that grimace. "Perhaps something related to experimenting? It's still a scary thought."
He just had to keep
swimmingflying, practice will help him over time. Blurr was bad at flying first as well.no subject
"Yeah, true. Does make sense that's what they'd want... however annoying. Kinda wish we could've chosen from a few available possibilities." That'd probably have made things far easier for a lot of them, plus letting them know beforehand when they would suddenly gain some new ability or other.
"Smeltin' hope not, 'cause I don't think some scientists need more of that," Cliffjumper said with a huff and a shake of his helm, his distraction briefly making him shoot upwards before he caught himself, "mechs like Perceptor and Jetfire are okay, but then you've got the ones like some of the guys we've had around here, or the reverse polarity Ratchet, and well..."
Don't need more of that, now do they?
no subject
"Heh, that could have been great but it would have made us look picky. What can I say, I like nice surprise so I didn't mind that much." Problematic surprises, on the other side...Too bad those are the ones who happen more often here.
"No but with Liege it could happen only to see if it's possible. Thanks Primus that Ratchet is gone." Blurr moves forward, boops Cliffjumper on the nose and then flies blackguards, grinning.
no subject
"Dunno, surprises're usually just a fraggin' mess, and I'd rather be picky than have the slag we've had to deal with dropped on me without any smeltin' notice. Dunno 'bout you, but suddenly just driftin' off into the air ain't what I'd call nice!"
At least without control, which was, well, the largest issue with this thing.
"Yeah... I sure fraggin' hope he is."
no subject
That was fun, wasn't it Cliffjumper? Blurr is about to say something else when the red mech catches his wheels.
"Eeeep!"
no subject
"It was a mess and you fraggin' well know it!" tugging Blurr's wheels again, Cliffjumper managed to not grin, "so yeah, ain't convinced me. All suprised are bad, no exceptions!"
That wasn't true, of course, but for the argument he'd maintain the line.
no subject
One day he will organize Cliffjumper a nice surprise. If only to prove him wrong.
no subject
He still give the wheel he'd caught another shaking tug, then let go.
"Better than." And then he blushed, optics brightening and his field spiking out before he could get it under control again, but how else was he supposed to react?
Nevermind it being (a) Starscream, Cliffjumper was pretty awkward and easily flustered about things like this, and it was, for all intents and purposes, going rather well.
no subject
"You are too cute sometimes. I didn't think that was possible."
no subject
"I am not fraggin' cute!" Protoforms might be cute, others might be cute, he he certainly wasn't cute!
no subject
"Maybe you weren't before but you definitely gained some adorableness since I first met you."
no subject
"How the slag does that even make any fraggin' sense? Don't think there's anythin' goin' on 'round here that'd make me more... adorable." That was definitely a grimace as he said that last word.
What the slag was Blurr even thinking? That word didn't apply to him!
no subject
"You never know, there could be something in the air."
no subject
"If there was, shouldn't that more have to do with the giant fraggin' hole in space-time hangin' over us? And considerin' what made it, don't see how anyone could get... cuter---"
At the next pass trying to catch Blurr and missing, Cliffjumper made the mistake of his gaze accidentally landing downwards.
And there was quite a bit of air between him and the ground.
"Gah---!"
Watch Cliffjumper abruptly fall to the floor of the room, though at least he didn't get injured in the fall? So much for things going well.
"Rrrr---"
no subject
Startled, he landed in a rush next to his friend, checking for injuries. "Cliff! You okay? Maybe this is enough for today's lesson. "
no subject
Even if he'd just been landed with a case of embarrassment thanks to his drop. At least there'd been nothing more serious than a few compressed plates of armour and sensor nodes.
"Still don't think the Lambda would work that way, or Unicron," huffing, Cliffjumper got back to his feet, rubbing his very unarmoured behind - that was the biggest issue landing on his back, with his bare joints.
At least the kibble on his back usually took most of the impact.
no subject
"You did great my friend. Next time you could practice with Starscream, chase each other around and all." There was a mischievous glint in Blurr's optics.
"Then if it doesn't you have no one else to blame for you newfound cuteness. Are you sure that's what you want to believe?"
no subject
"And no, I didn't. Just don't got any extra armour there, so my joints get the impact," Cliffjumper said with a shake of his helm and a grimace as he gave his aft a last rub - the sensor nodes were resetting themselves, leaving a numbingly tickling sort of static.
"Yeah, I guess we could... train only, Blurr! and at least I won't necessarily make a slaggin' embarrassment of myself if we do." He'd seen that glint i Blurr's optics, and Blurr better stop before he... well. Did something, slag it all.
no subject
Blurr had the decency to look at the ceiling while his friend did that. "Training is good but training and having fun is better. Now let's go get something to drink."
Fine, fineeee~
no subject
Letting the grin loose, Cliffjumper passed Blurr - and slapped him on his shoulder as he passed, perfectly shamelessly.
no subject
Blurr squeaked in surprise, blinked and a few seconds later he started to chase Cliffjumper down the corridor, laughing.
