[ Starscream is fashionably early, if only to give himself time to find the correct location. he stands outside the temple, looking around the area and already making comparisons between this temple and the one that he had awoken in. in the back of his processor, the scientist in him is curious if the FFs are responsible for the terrain and if it reflects upon the FF of the sector. their likes... their personalities...

it's a new experience. something other than war. that is enough for him to latch onto it and just enjoy before it inevitably backfires. ]

[ and only sciency things, right? because he is silent, wonderfully distracted by the hope of procuring items and materials and starting projects. no weapons! ]

[Knock Out's a bit confused at the lack of reply until he realizes the day dreaming expression in the otehr mechs face. It makes him smile, this time in a sincere way.]

You know, there's some medical equipment that I need to finish making blueprints for but I don't have the time or the skill. I'll welcome a hand.

[ way to catch his attention. and his expression turns from dreamy to hopeful. maybe even excited. ]

I would be happy to help out in whatever capacity that I can.

[And that makes Knock Out chuckle,. You are adorable, man.]

Excellent. Come on then, I'll show you what I got. [He motions to one of the room with the clinic, the storage room, where he keeps some of Shockwave's old materials and tools.]

There's some things here that I don't even know what are for. The laboratory is that other door we passed by, the one with a caution sign. See anything you like?

[ he is not adorable! he is simply... overwhelmed. ]

[ the better question is... what doesn't he like? to actually DO SCIENCE. to have EQUIPMENT... augh augh who could think of being brought here as a curse? ]

I don't always joke. Another option is to finally open that room I had ready for a proper laboratory and that I never finished organizing.

[Let's do all the science! See? It wasn't all that bad.]

No. I'm ashamed to admit that there some tools here I don't eve know what are they fool.

That sounds good, yes. I have some others I need to get into contact with and the like as is.

[ Jetfire, mainly. but Starscream still has to meet up with Ravage and he had promised some flight time. so many things to do! ]

Though no promises about feeling more comfortable around medbays. Hook and Scrapper are not present.

No need to rush things, we have all the time in the world. [They can't leave even if they want and Knock Out feels at home here. Better than at home, actually.]

What about feeling more comfortable around medics? As you see, I don't bite. [Unless you ask.] Were they cruel with you?

I admit there are opportunities here that are not present back on my version of Earth and Cybertron...

[ he knows that he has to return eventually... but at the word 'cruel' he shakes his helm and laughs just a little. ]

No, no. Far from it. They are, essentially, the real miracle workers of our faction. As Megatron had been unable to join us to go to Earth, they stayed behind to tend to him.

That happens to me too. This world offered me the opportunity to do thing, to meet certain people, that I couldn't have done or meet in my own universe.

[Knock Out doesn't know what to think about it so he doesn't. Life's easier that way.]

They're your friends, I see. Have you meet Ratchet? The sane one, the one from my universe. White and orange, really grumpy, big eyebrows...

I am looking forward to having such experiences.

[ no, seriously. he is. he is pretty excited to help SHAPE something rather than cause more needless destruction. to MEET people and dare to HOPE for a better tomorrow for his own home. ]

It's refreshing to see someone willing to a future here, even if temporary.

[That's nice for a change, that's for sure. Knock Out's enjoying the tranquility of not having to deal with war.]

You will like him, I believe. He's really good at his job but if you tell him I said that I will glue your wings.

We all need a glimmer of hope - even if it is fleeting. It gives us something to hold onto.

[ and they need all the hope they can get, really. Earth might be safe... Cybertron? who knows...

I couldn't agree more. [He didn't always see it, that hope, not when he was working with Megatron.]

Because he doesn't need to know about that compliment. Ratchet and me have quite the history.

The kind of history that involve us trying to kill each other. But that was in the past, we are in the same team now.

But still, don't tell him I said that. [Or Knock Out won't be a happy medic.]

...No. [Sorry Starscream, he's very firm about this. If you tell him KO won't let you play with his sciency toys.]

[ hands go up! he knows a losing battle when he sees one. ]

[At that, Knock Out relaxes.] Thank you. Now, are you sure you don't want to pick anything from here to keep you entertained while you get used to the place?

[He has science books around after all.]

Are you going to glue my wings for that too, if I fail to return anything?
