And All The Stories...
WHO: Kagerou + OPEN
WHERE: Trion's Temple & Library
WHEN: After Kay's post
WHAT: Venturing out of his pity party for a while, in order to do research. Reading. And maybe stalking anyone else prowling around.
WARNINGS: Nothing!
He wouldn't have left his room, had the guilt not all but shoved him out. He'd forgotten something important. He'd forgotten something important to Kay. It was worse, in a way, than forgetting anything else.
Almost anything.
So he'd slipped out of their room. Despite his outburst, he still seemed to have relatively free reign of the place. No one would mind him poking about, he thought. If they did... maybe his supposed "status" would actually be of use. For once.
Besides, it wasn't as if he was doing anything particularly wrong. Just ducking into the library. Reading the books and scanning the data there was hardly against the rules. Or, if it was, no one had seen fit to tell him. Part of him doubted he'd be able to find what he was looking for -- the FirstForged likely wouldn't want anyone knowing how to remove the markings put in place, if it were even possible at all. One more thing he had to find out.
He could be found flitting about the bookcases. Hovering in the air, or perched up on a shelf, reading, his expression creased in a frown. So far, nothing was helpful. Even though he'd started a pile -- all books and data pads which might contain something useful in getting this mark off him. It couldn't be permanent. They were leading him on.
They had to be.
Except for a select few books he'd located on the "cultural significance of birthdays"...

But instead of being angered, he'd been saddened. It was difficult to build a new world, but it would be more difficult without trust. If he could not trust his Initiates...who could he count on?
Obviously, he had done something wrong, and it was something he intended to correct.
Kagerou would feel it, when he entered the room.
Alpha Trion was looking for his Initiate, and it was a call that he would not allow the other to circumvent.

At least until his whole frame suddenly shivered. As if he were being watched, abruptly.
He went still, tensing. If he sat frozen, their sensors shouldn't pick him up. Should they? They would --
But he was climbing down from the bookcase, before he even realized what it was he did. His posture remained huddled, arms around himself, his wings flicking almost uncontrollably behind him. Where was this feeling coming from?
"... Hello?"
no subject
For Kagerou, however, he had a different fate in mind.
Rounding the book-shelf at last, he found the other waiting.
"Hello, Kagerou," Alpha Trion replied in turn, quietly, surprised by the almost-fearful posture that his Initiate adopted. "We need to talk."
no subject
His wings jerked upright, and his visible optic went wide. Prepared as he was to stand by his words, being face-to-face with the target of his anger was another matter.
"Hello," he answered, guardedly. His hands dropped, hanging at his sides, in case he needed to run or fight or... he didn't know.
Something other than "talk".
"Now you want to speak? Now you notice something is wrong?"
no subject
It was a rare thing for an Initiate to renounce their Firstforged, but this was a special circumstance. This was something he should have tended to sooner.
This was...complicated.
"I wish I could have done more."
His hands opened and then closed again, a tiny sign of his own uncertainty. He was not used to dealing with people...even if he was better at it than some of his brothers.
"That is why we need to talk now, however. It has been done. I need to know if you meant what you said--if you want to depart."
no subject
He didn't seem to realize what it was the Firstforged meant. He thought that meant the disappearances, the reasons he'd been so angry in the first place. The reasons he was still angry.
His wings mantled, and flared.
"Then why didn't you? Why?"
Maybe this wasn't the best pairing. Neither of them were good at dealing with people. Kagerou less than "good", even.
He drew back a little, honestly surprised at the last statement. "I... what? What are you... talking about?"
no subject
"I did not know, Kagerou. I did not know any more than you did. I cannot feel when the badlands work their purpose on others--the only thing I felt was you." Kagerou's reaction to it. The slight diminishing of the barrier. Their names were just more names on a long list of names that had been added to since the beginning of the world.
"You renounced the Firstforged. Those...are powerful words to utter, but if you wish it, Kagerou, I will let you go."
no subject
"What do I wish?" he asked, the words coming out more sharply than he waned to. "I wish for them back. For Perceptor and Soundwave and... that idiot on his motorcycle..."
His voice shuddered, trailing off. He shook his head, folding his arms around himself. This was all so confusing. It hurt. Everything swam around in his head, unable to piece together.
"I wish... for that you promised me..."
