Skids - or the thing that had been Skids - had been chasing him around the Junk Pile until something happened that Barricade just couldn't sort out. Not for a while, anyway, until he was able to get a look at himself. Not human, so...

Wait. Fur? Oh scrap.


[The Junk Pile]
First things first is finding some kind of food, and that means sticking around the Junk Pile for a while. So a little black and white cat might be visible, hopping and skittering gingerly along debris, occasionally tripping and yowling in protest. These legs don't work like any he's used to and there's too many of them and he can't get his tail to hold still to counterbalance. Why are there so many limbs.


[Solus's Quadrant]
Eventually he manages to dig out food that isn't in a can and figures out how to eat it. He even tumbles his way ungracefully out of the Junk Pile in his own FirstForged's quadrant. Good enough for him! He trots along through the area, carefully avoiding the hotter spots until he finds the crystal forest on the border. And then... for no reason he can sort out, up one of the trees he goes. Without any idea of how to get out of it.


[Alpha Trion's Quadrant]
One way or another, he extracts himself and continues on, finally having gotten the hang of his limbs and his ears. At least his senses aren't quite so diminished as when Barricade has been human; there was something comfortable about that. Still, even he gets thirsty, and the easiest place to find water is the lake. Once he gets across the quadrants to the lake, he crouches down and dabs a paw into the water cautiously, jerking it out and shaking it with a meow. Okay, that's not so awesome. Maybe there's some easier way to do it...

He was a Decepticon, like you. Sadly, he doesn't has your taste. Have you seen his paintjob? It's peeling off! [So disgusting.]

[HMPH! Knock Out makes a face.] That's a whole different thing, yes.

[Knock Out caresses the cat's back, more slowly this time. She's trying to be as comforting as a Decepticon can be. It's not easy, Decepticons shouldn't have this sort of feelings or empathy.] I think I remember him, but I arrived during the middle of that whole Glyphless mess. He looked similar to sweet rims but with dark finish, right?

Well that's an easy fix. Met a lot of medics that neglect themselves, though.

[Barricade shifts a bit to rest his head on his paws, purring lightly still. Really, he doesn't expect empathy or emotions at all over it - from anyone - but he'd told himself if it came up he'd talk about it.] If 'sweet rims' is Optimus Prime, yes. Black and teal color scheme. He was a good mech; knew when to be violent and when to reign himself in.

He's one of those. He doesn't let me fix his paintjob. [Ambulon would look so pretty if Knock Out had his way with him.]

[No Decepticon or ex Decepticon expects those. That sort of things get you in trouble. But they're alone now.]The one and only, yes. The one in my world was killed by Megatron, it's almost surreal. [Knock Out can't quite believe they won.]

I wish I had met your friend. Then again, maybe you would want me near him, kitty.[Since, you know, Knock Out flirt with any attractive big mech that walks by.]

Mm, let me try, one of these days. [Barricade is a very persuasive sort... and gets away with so much garbage.]

[They're alone and the information is hardly important. It's not like anyone can hurt Barricade with it. It's already hurt.] He'll probably be back. My Prime doesn't know how to stay dead.

He could be pretty stodgy, but I think you might've liked him. I wasn't too possessive of him. [Besides, he liked seeing how other mechs flirting with Convoy went. It was usually pretty fun~]

Maybe we could find a way to convince him. Or you can distract him and I can knock him out with my prod. And then we can repaint him. [Pink. With a giant Hello Kitty sticker on his back.

Very good points, although Arcee takes great pleasure on bothering Knock Out from time to time and bring up Breakdown. As well as telling him that he will die alone.] Your Prime, uhm? [Have more pettings while she smiles.] Once he arrives I want to meet him.

Being possessive is not bad, as long as you don't get to Starscream's level of possessive. [Knock Out has so much fun flirting with Jetfire in front of the seeker just to see him irritated.]

That might be a bit aggressive for something like a repaint. Don't get me wrong, I've done that t'patients but usually only because they wouldn't stop whining.

[Anyone that tried that with Barricade would probably end up flayed open on a berth. Barricade doesn't handle insults to his partners well.] Keh. No you don't. [PrrrrrrRRRRRRRrrrrr] All Decepticons that face Optimus Prime perish, save Megatron. And Starscream, because he knows when to leave.

The one here is that touchy about his mate, is he? How embarrassing. [Though admittedly, he'd been the same way with Bonecrusher. And Bonecrusher was that way with him, too.]

He looks lie he's infectious and he refuses to fix himself. I think we should run some scans on his processor, something might be damaged.

[The only reason why Knock Out didn't try to slag her it was because the exchange happened via the comm link. And he was mostly wasted too, but that's neither here nor there.] You like that, uh? [If she had more hands to scratch you she would use them. She gets serious again, though.]

The Autobots killed many of us in my universe too, specially vehicons. Smokescreen used the spark extractor against us and killed dozens. And they call us monsters. [There was a frustrated huff coming from her.]

You tell Jetfire. [It's fun to hit on the big guy just to see Starscream get mad.]

Believe me, I've seen worse paintjobs. Ambulon's is no big deal in comparison.

[See that's when you get the location data for later. Not everyone is smart enough to taunt from a location that they don't normally visit. Unless you're drunk that is.] Mm, I do. 'S very nice~

[He blinks briefly, whiskers splaying forward.] A spark extractor? Well, you don't waste time in your dimension, do you? Here we do it the old-fashioned way back home. Mm, but I understand your frustration. Still, surprised your Optimus would condone that.

[He was one of the few Optimii that Barricade could tolerate. He'd seemed... decent.]

It was one the Iacon Relics, don't ask. At least it's gone now, Megatron destroyed it. [For good.]

The old fashioned way, we did that too. [Megatron did that to Dreeadwing, more exaclty.] It's a war, I don't expect the Autobots to be any less than ruthless. Although, the hypocrisy of the so called pace keepers surprise me too.

[Knock Out also seems like a easy going guy, but everyone has a dark side.]

The usual fixes were a waste of energon that we didn't have. It's quite all right. [But he won't complain about the petting.]

It's called purring. I don't know how it works, though.

Well, good. That doesn't seem like tech anyone should have access to.

Mm, I wish I could say their ruthlessness surprises me; it's how we operate back home. But I've met your Optimus; he even rescued me once. He didn't seem the sort to allow wholesale destruction like that.

[He'd been so upset when Barricade told him what happened in Chicago, after all... And well. Knock Out reminds Barricade of himself a little; he knows what to expect there.]

We didn't had all that much in my universe either, even if our faction knew how to storage it properly.

But let's not get into those depressing subjects, they ruin the mood. What if we go back to the temple and get some food? This organic bodies are such high maintenanc,e they need energy so very often.

I've been organic before. I'll admit the 'cat' part is new, but I've been human twice.

Back in that place you were before arriving here? Was it a colony? [She can't remember the name but she knows you mentioned it before. Knock Out starts to walk, carrying the cat with her.]

Sacrosanct. A space station, run by an artificial intelligence that was... not sane. She called us 'unwanted guests'. [He chuckles. Barricade had mistrusted her - especially because she knew his habits - but she was entertaining at least.]

And before that was Axiom Nexus. A spot on a different Cybertron. We were refugees there, too. [Just that things were less new Their arrival was old hat and full of paperwork.]
