[Open - Communal] Meet 'n' Greet!

WHERE: One of the larger upper platforms in Vector Prime's Quadrant.
WHEN: Now
WHAT: Mixer for Vectorians and general social gathering for everyone.
WARNINGS: None yet. (But there's booze so...at the very least there might be bad karaoke)

Upon entering Vector Prime's domain it's obvious that things are a foot. The typically serene atmosphere is enlivened with notes of music and the murmur of voices punctuated by the occasional bubble of laughter that filters down from the upper heights, a soft glow of illuminating one of the larger platforms with a structure built on it. Colorful streamers fly from crystalline light poles, marking the way through the various crystal bridges and small platforms, until one reaches the large terrace on which the gathering is situated.

A large pavilion-like structure, enclosed on two sides but otherwise open to a majestic view of the gorge and beyond, shelters the bulk of the gathering. Its roof is several stories tall, enough to accommodate their First Forged benefactor should he choose to join them, and what could be considered a dance floor sprawls off to the side. The platform edges have been lined with a railing here unlike most of the others, to waylay any highgrade assisted trips into the gorge itself. Along another wall, nearest the open area, speakers and other equipment have been setup to provide music and other entertainment. One of Vector Prime's Acolytes greets newcomers with a simple nod, and may later be seen looking after the replenishent of refreshments as needed.

Tables of typical Cybertronian height line one wall, where tapped cylinders of softly glowing energon, both standard and highgrade, sit alongside cubes waiting to be filled. Various pieces of make-shift seating suitable to the average mech are scattered around. Central to the pavilion is a wide raised platform, about waist height to the average Cybertronian, designed to allow the shorter attendees to converse with their taller robotic fellows at eye level. Human scale ladders allow access to and from the floor, and occupying the platform is a buffet table accompanied by several mis-matched chairs.

The buffet table is covered with an eclectic assortment of refreshments and serving implements more suitable to organics, mostly non-perishable pantry type goods, (you can be certain there's Twinkies!) along with a odd collection of various alcohols including a bottle or two of whiskey. At the end of one table sits an old refrigerator on its back, now tasked with being a simple ice box, filled entirely with chunks of clean snow and ice from Liege Maximo's quadrant. Accompanying it are wax paper cups and a pitcher of fruity syrup that smells reminiscent of Kool-Aid. (make yourself a snow cone!)

The pavilion is attached to a larger building, two doors at the rear of the pavilion each lead to two separate rooms. One that appears to be in use for the storage of unused supplies and materials while the other is filled with makeshift seating of various sizes, creating a more relaxed atmosphere. To the rear there is access to a second floor, the rooms of which appear to be currently unused.

Barricade and Soundwave have agreed to provide musical entertainment for the evening.

Miko may play some guitar for us if we can find a way to power her amp.

Wing will perform a traditional narrative sword kata with some musical accompaniment.

Vector Prime himself may make an appearance at some point as well.

Barricade purses his lips, tapping one long claw against the lower one in thought - mostly for show.

"Mm. Well, if we were on Earth I'd be required to arrest you. Hypothetically, of course. But no one has established a set of laws defining crime here yet."

Besides, he only plays a cop on TV for the irony, really.

That face brightens up like a 100-watt bulb. Look at her; she's glowing.

"I knew I could count on you Mister...uh..."

Care to offer a name to this brick child?

Oh, he does notice that. And he's smart enough to figure out that this situation wasn't entirely hypothetical.

"Barricade, darlin'. It's a pleasure."

"Barricade...that sounds so COOL! Can I call you Barry?"

Not that she didn't mind calling him Barricade, but nicknames just made it so much easier.

"I bet you dance. You totally look like the dancing type."

"You can. Or you c'n call me 'Cade."

He's answered to both of them before. Also to Benny but that was just one time. One weird weird time.

"And I do dance, yes. Quite well, if you ask me~"

"Cade sounds good to me! It's even more cool than Barry. And Barry's pretty cool if you ask me."

Why would you be named Benn-ANYWAY. Dancing. Did he really just...?

Oh. OH. She can't pass this up.

"Don't you know? Boys have to ask the girls."

"Barry is pretty good. But 'Cade parses so much better."

'Benny' is a long strange story. That he gets awkward about the end of really.

He twists a grin, raising one optic ridge.

"Oh do we now. Well, would you like to?"

By her reaction, you'd think that she never even brought the subject up. Her hands go to her mouth, completely enamored at being asked.

"I-I'd love to!"

Her hand goes to her scarf, pulling it up sheepishly as she grabs one of his fingers and tries to pull it. Yeah, good luck on that, Kay.

"C'mon! Show me your moves!"

Barricade chuckles quietly, more watching her pulling on his claw than being pulled by his claw.

"I will, but I think there might a better way."

One where he might not accidentally step on her. She isn't Alex Mercer so he has to actually worry about that.

But that doesn't mean he won't lead and hint a little.

"Yeah! Think you could help a girl out? I mean, not to be rude, but you're kinda heavy."

Do robots get offended at that? Hopefully not.

"I'll have you know I'm small f'r my dimension. Mm, but my armor is pretty bulky. Though..."

His optics - all four of them - flicker for a moment, and a hologram of a human manifests. He even throws his voice into it.

"I was considering a more elegant solution~"

"!!"

Well, she wasn't expecting that. These robots could make little human versions of themselves too? Why didn't they do that more often? Seems much easier to get into buildings.

But hey, she won't complain.

"Wow...you are SO cool, 'Cade!!"

So what does she do? Why, the only logical thing: running up to the hologram-man and throwing her arms around his waist.

Barricade's hologram raises its arms in surprise, but he chuckles. The holoform is solid enough to stand up to the hug for the most part, but there is give around the edges.

"I'm glad you like it, Kay. I worked hard on it."

Which was easier after he got turned human several times.

"Well it gets an A+ from me!"

And that apparently means it's as good as gold. She takes Barricade's wrists and pulls the hologram along, even more excited to dance now.

"Now don't laugh, I haven't danced since I was like...ten!"

"I'm flattered, darlin'."

Barricade lets his holoform be led, real body standing up to follow. He pouts slightly.

"Since you were ten? That's a shame. Everyone oughta dance at least once in a while."

She led him to an open area swinging his hands back and forth as she gave a slight pout back.

"I know right? Mr. Edgeworth doesn't dance with me. He says it's undignified and stuff. He's such a Debbie Downer."

"Sounds like just the fella to harsh my buzz. Besides, there're dances that are no where near undignified."

As someone that tried to teach an Optimus Prime to foxtrot, he would know.

"Really? Could you teach me one?"

Because when a robot knows more dances than you do, you've gotta learn em quick.

"Pretty please?"

"Mm. I suppose I could. Ever done a Foxtrot before?"

It's best to start with the easy ones first. At least in his experience it is.

"Nope, I'm not really a fox."

Worst joke ever. If it even was...you never know with this one.

"But I'm ready, Mr. Cade!"

"Mm, maybe someday~"

Jokes to compliments? Sure, why not!

"All right. Let's see..." Lessons start!

She's guided along by Barricade, tripping a few times at first, but eventually getting the hang of it. From the look on her face, she's having an amazing time, and if only she knew it was from someone who used to kill other robots.

"Wow, you're really good, Cade!"

Barricade takes it easy and slow for her sake, grinning. Even if she's from the same species that almost killed him several times, he's glad she's having a good time. And he still kills other robots. Sometimes even robot ZOMBIES.

"Why thank you, darlin'. Flatterin' of you to say~"

She's very grateful for you taking it slow for her, as this is her first dance with something close to an adult human that wasn't her Dad. She slowly gets the hang of it though!

"The Yatagarasu only speaks the truth!"
