[Open - Communal] Meet 'n' Greet!

WHO: Anyone! Hosted by Wing, Vectorians especially encouraged.
WHERE: One of the larger upper platforms in Vector Prime's Quadrant.
WHEN: Now
WHAT: Mixer for Vectorians and general social gathering for everyone.
WARNINGS: None yet. (But there's booze so...at the very least there might be bad karaoke)

Upon entering Vector Prime's domain it's obvious that things are a foot. The typically serene atmosphere is enlivened with notes of music and the murmur of voices punctuated by the occasional bubble of laughter that filters down from the upper heights, a soft glow of illuminating one of the larger platforms with a structure built on it. Colorful streamers fly from crystalline light poles, marking the way through the various crystal bridges and small platforms, until one reaches the large terrace on which the gathering is situated.

A large pavilion-like structure, enclosed on two sides but otherwise open to a majestic view of the gorge and beyond, shelters the bulk of the gathering. Its roof is several stories tall, enough to accommodate their First Forged benefactor should he choose to join them, and what could be considered a dance floor sprawls off to the side. The platform edges have been lined with a railing here unlike most of the others, to waylay any highgrade assisted trips into the gorge itself. Along another wall, nearest the open area, speakers and other equipment have been setup to provide music and other entertainment. One of Vector Prime's Acolytes greets newcomers with a simple nod, and may later be seen looking after the replenishent of refreshments as needed.

Tables of typical Cybertronian height line one wall, where tapped cylinders of softly glowing energon, both standard and highgrade, sit alongside cubes waiting to be filled. Various pieces of make-shift seating suitable to the average mech are scattered around. Central to the pavilion is a wide raised platform, about waist height to the average Cybertronian, designed to allow the shorter attendees to converse with their taller robotic fellows at eye level. Human scale ladders allow access to and from the floor, and occupying the platform is a buffet table accompanied by several mis-matched chairs.

The buffet table is covered with an eclectic assortment of refreshments and serving implements more suitable to organics, mostly non-perishable pantry type goods, (you can be certain there's Twinkies!) along with a odd collection of various alcohols including a bottle or two of whiskey. At the end of one table sits an old refrigerator on its back, now tasked with being a simple ice box, filled entirely with chunks of clean snow and ice from Liege Maximo's quadrant. Accompanying it are wax paper cups and a pitcher of fruity syrup that smells reminiscent of Kool-Aid. (make yourself a snow cone!)

The pavilion is attached to a larger building, two doors at the rear of the pavilion each lead to two separate rooms. One that appears to be in use for the storage of unused supplies and materials while the other is filled with makeshift seating of various sizes, creating a more relaxed atmosphere. To the rear there is access to a second floor, the rooms of which appear to be currently unused.

Barricade and Soundwave have agreed to provide musical entertainment for the evening.

Miko may play some guitar for us if we can find a way to power her amp.

Wing will perform a traditional narrative sword kata with some musical accompaniment.

Vector Prime himself may make an appearance at some point as well.

((---This is COMMUNAL log and designed to be a mixer, so post to note your attendance and then tag around!---))

((If you'd like to do a game, performance or other activity feel free to make a post for it and let me know, then I'll highlight it here.))

((I tried to set a foundation for the scene but leave a lot of stuff open, so feel free to embellish where you like. We have access to pretty much anything that's mundane though likely it comes from the Junk Pile. Feel free to have your character bring something if they want.))

Oh another robot, and you look like one of the police men from Japan, Miko can't help but think that isn't just a coincidence. She had heard that the Brave Police were from Japan, so she decided to bet to herself that he was one of those guys.

"Hi there." She says, waving at him and smiling. She couldn't help but wonder if he was nervous about parties, but if she is one of the ones she thinks he is, calling him out on it would probably be terribly offensive to him.
patokichi: (Very gentle)

Deckerd perks, immediately looking down. Honestly, he's relieved to see a human. A kid. Someone he feels like he can understand a little better. Humans are still more familiar to him than the cybertronians.

He kneels, turning up his gentle smile and lifting a hand in greeting.

"Hello."

Her smile brightens more when he responds favorably to her, after the way Gunmax had been terse she had been a little worried, not that she would have ever shown it.

"Are you one of the Brave Police I've heard about?" She asks, figuring it was best to get that question answered first, so that she could at least know who she is talking to instead of just guessing.
patokichi: (Yes boss!)

[personal profile] patokichi 2012-08-02 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Gunmax was... well. Gunmax. Deckerd knows he can be brash, though that doesn't really speak for everyone else.

"I am. My name is Deckerd. And yourself?"

He speaks very formally (awkwardly, almost), but he pretty much exudes friendliness.

Miko gets a small, but certainly mischievous, smile on her face before bowing to a polite level and speaking in clear Japanese. "It's nice to meet you, I am Nakadai Miko." She was interested to find out if he would be surprised that she knew Japanese or not. Though despite the politeness she gave him in return she was bound to go back to being brash in English once she had seen if she could get a reaction out of him.
patokichi: (My first friend)

[personal profile] patokichi 2012-08-04 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well it certainly does surprise him, and it brings a slight smile to his face.

"Ah-! You are from Japan too, then?"

It's nice to have a little slice of home. Or at least a reminder.

"You speak very well."
heavymetalgenkigirl: (Still got it~!)

[personal profile] heavymetalgenkigirl 2012-08-04 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that is a great smile! She is glad she did that now, truly excited for the reaction.

"I am, I am from Tokyo." She answers once more in Japanese before switching over to English. "But I've taken to speaking in English a lot since I went to the States."

She has no problems talking to him more in Japanese if that is something that he mentions wanting.

"Thank you."
patokichi: (What's wrong?)

[personal profile] patokichi 2012-08-05 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, I am from Nanamagari." Deckerd nods, offering her an open palm low to the ground should she want to climb up.

"I admit, hearing it reminds me of home."

In a nice, distant way. Not enough to make him terribly homesick. Just comforting. Familiar.

"I've heard of it, but I've never actually been there, but then again I don't think we are from exactly the same world, after all, I think I would know about giant robots in Japan if they were in my world." Of course considering she knows about giant alien robots in America, this actually makes a lot of sense. She has no hesitation or fear as she accepts the hand, finding she has to sit, rather than standing like she can in Bulkhead's hand.

"Yeah, I don't speak it all that much in America, I didn't think I missed it so much." She laughs a little at herself for just realizing how much she missed small things in Japan.

He picks her up very carefully, letting her rest in his palm at chest-level.

It's easier to talk like this, anyways.

"Mmm, probably not yes. I'm learning that there are so many separate realities here. At first it was... difficult to comprehend, but I am beginning to understand."

The Brave Detective pauses, considering for a moment.

"You rarely miss things until they are truly out of reach."

She swings her feet lightly, careful not to kick him, once she is lifted away from the ground, completely comfortable. Being held means she doesn't need to try and stand back to see his face and means neither of them have to be so uncomfortable to talk.

"Mm I knew there had to be something really different right away, but that is because we've heard about Cybertron from the Autobots back home, but they all said Cybertron was dead. Since this one is almost band new this place has to be totally different from mine."

She gives him a smile.

"Nothing you care about is ever completely out of reach though, so long as you have the memories of it, and keep those in your heart then it's never really gone. But you can still miss things even like that."
patokichi: (Soulmates 4lyfe)

[personal profile] patokichi 2012-08-09 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmmm, it's very strange, how many things conflict. I'm no scientist, but I can certainly accept the possibility of alternate dimensions."

Ah. Well. That hits a little closer to home, and it gets a startled, sad smile.

"You're absolutely right."

Smart kid, so it seems. Then again he's never doubted the intelligence of children.
heavymetalgenkigirl: (What do you mean he already left?)

[personal profile] heavymetalgenkigirl 2012-08-10 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I just figure this isn't the Cybertron the Autobots on my Earth are from as far as I can tell, so why not? It could totally be a different dimension. Besides it's not like there can be a bunch of different Japans that don't know of each other, on planets called Earth, in the same dimension, there's coincidence and then there is just crazy."

She grins a little, or tries too, but to someone who knows humans well the forced part of it is pretty clear.

"You miss someone special too?" It was a long shot, but his expression matched the way she felt pretty well.
patokichi: (MMD - Looking at other things)

[personal profile] patokichi 2012-08-10 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
"That's a fair assertion to make." More sound than anything else he could think up at this point.

Ah- how obvious of him. Then again he always did wear his heart on his sleeve.

"Yes. My very best friend, Yuuta. What about you?"
heavymetalgenkigirl: (What do you mean he already left?)

[personal profile] heavymetalgenkigirl 2012-08-17 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
She simply shrugs, she didn't have any other theory for how she ended up on a new and at least partially populated Cybertron.

As the phrase goes, it take one to know one, so reading that he was missing someone wasn't too hard for her.

"My best friend in the whole world. His name is Bulkhead, and he is a Cybertronian. He's how I know what I do about this place."
