[Open - Communal] Meet 'n' Greet!

WHO: Anyone! Hosted by Wing, Vectorians especially encouraged.
WHERE: One of the larger upper platforms in Vector Prime's Quadrant.
WHEN: Now
WHAT: Mixer for Vectorians and general social gathering for everyone.
WARNINGS: None yet. (But there's booze so...at the very least there might be bad karaoke)

Upon entering Vector Prime's domain it's obvious that things are a foot. The typically serene atmosphere is enlivened with notes of music and the murmur of voices punctuated by the occasional bubble of laughter that filters down from the upper heights, a soft glow of illuminating one of the larger platforms with a structure built on it. Colorful streamers fly from crystalline light poles, marking the way through the various crystal bridges and small platforms, until one reaches the large terrace on which the gathering is situated.

A large pavilion-like structure, enclosed on two sides but otherwise open to a majestic view of the gorge and beyond, shelters the bulk of the gathering. Its roof is several stories tall, enough to accommodate their First Forged benefactor should he choose to join them, and what could be considered a dance floor sprawls off to the side. The platform edges have been lined with a railing here unlike most of the others, to waylay any highgrade assisted trips into the gorge itself. Along another wall, nearest the open area, speakers and other equipment have been setup to provide music and other entertainment. One of Vector Prime's Acolytes greets newcomers with a simple nod, and may later be seen looking after the replenishent of refreshments as needed.

Tables of typical Cybertronian height line one wall, where tapped cylinders of softly glowing energon, both standard and highgrade, sit alongside cubes waiting to be filled. Various pieces of make-shift seating suitable to the average mech are scattered around. Central to the pavilion is a wide raised platform, about waist height to the average Cybertronian, designed to allow the shorter attendees to converse with their taller robotic fellows at eye level. Human scale ladders allow access to and from the floor, and occupying the platform is a buffet table accompanied by several mis-matched chairs.

The buffet table is covered with an eclectic assortment of refreshments and serving implements more suitable to organics, mostly non-perishable pantry type goods, (you can be certain there's Twinkies!) along with a odd collection of various alcohols including a bottle or two of whiskey. At the end of one table sits an old refrigerator on its back, now tasked with being a simple ice box, filled entirely with chunks of clean snow and ice from Liege Maximo's quadrant. Accompanying it are wax paper cups and a pitcher of fruity syrup that smells reminiscent of Kool-Aid. (make yourself a snow cone!)

The pavilion is attached to a larger building, two doors at the rear of the pavilion each lead to two separate rooms. One that appears to be in use for the storage of unused supplies and materials while the other is filled with makeshift seating of various sizes, creating a more relaxed atmosphere. To the rear there is access to a second floor, the rooms of which appear to be currently unused.

Barricade and Soundwave have agreed to provide musical entertainment for the evening.

Miko may play some guitar for us if we can find a way to power her amp.

Wing will perform a traditional narrative sword kata with some musical accompaniment.

Vector Prime himself may make an appearance at some point as well.

((---This is COMMUNAL log and designed to be a mixer, so post to note your attendance and then tag around!---))

((If you'd like to do a game, performance or other activity feel free to make a post for it and let me know, then I'll highlight it here.))

((I tried to set a foundation for the scene but leave a lot of stuff open, so feel free to embellish where you like. We have access to pretty much anything that's mundane though likely it comes from the Junk Pile. Feel free to have your character bring something if they want.))

At least someone isn't, that's a relief.

"More like never. I worked a lot and I worked alone. Secret Agent and all that. I spent most of my life undercover. I recorded some of the music from the radio it's added to my data bank now. SO you are good at working with this sort of equipment?"

He has no idea what you used to do back in your world, Barricade. mind to fill him in?

"Now that is incredibly unfortunate. Everyone ought to've been to at least one party in their lives. Someone should make that a rule. And I know a little. Never really worked with it myself before, but I've got corresponding ports to jack some of the speakers into."

He hopes it works at least. Barricade doesn't willing plug things into himself often. Or at all, really.

"It's a good thing I got invited to that one then everybodyhereisbeingnice." Which is new to him because he worked with sentinel Prime and you can't be a bigger douchebag than him unless your name's Starscream.

"Jack them...? Oh." Yeah Blurr is not fond of that either. Mostly because he's worried that his processor could fry the other's engines.

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-07-30 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"... it's different with equipment like this. Not the same set of ports or the same result. Or the same purpose." Because it doesn't require the use of his own cables or feeling some kind of feedback from the other one involved.

And it's not a ship. He's so glad it's not a ship.

"And I'd sure hope everyone here is bein' nice. New place, it's better to be friends than enemies."
raceme: (Staring)

[personal profile] raceme 2012-07-31 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Are you sure you can't get hurt by accident? notliekimworriedoranythign" Of course not.

Ships are tough things, that's why in Blurr's universes they don't event try to form comm links with them.

"Yes it reminds me of how things were before the Great War Once things started to get problematic on Cybertron we only had a few neutral places like the Maccadam's Old Oil House."
namesnotprowl: (Leggy Cop)

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-07-31 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Not unless the thing is sentient and either inexperienced or malicious, I promise. Had enough folks in my processor to know." Casually mentioned and casually dropped.

As for ships... well. The best way to pilot for him is connecting directly to the ship. Become the ship, more or less.

"How it usually goes. But that's one sort of business that tends to have better luck when it's neutral. Why I ran the Rail Yard on Sacrosanct: safe, neutral territory f'r everyone to get energon at.
raceme: (What's this?)

[personal profile] raceme 2012-08-02 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Let's hope that doesn't happen." Blurr blinked and looked confused at the 'enough folks' comments but he decided that it was better not to ask further.

That's was not common practice in Blurr's universe for safety reasons but it could be done too.

"I don't think we have any place like that here Of course we try not to kill each other in front of the Firsforged but we have no real neutral place that I am aware of. Rail Yard?"
namesnotprowl: (Eyes Alight)

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-08-02 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely better not to ask. It would just get Barricade off on a horrible tangent that he wouldn't ever quite get off of without high-grade.

"Might be good if we actually had one. The FirstForged can't exactly be around all the time when people that don't get along meet. Yeah. Rail Yard. Borrowed the name from a place I used to go to."
raceme: (What was I saying...?)

[personal profile] raceme 2012-08-02 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
And no one wants that, this is supposed to be a happy party.

"It couldn't hurt and after all the FirstForged want us to help this world grow and prosper but can we actually start building things like that or we need to ask them first? We will also need raw materials and a proper storage of Energon..."

Blurr wasn't complaining he was just thinking out loud about the availability of the idea and making mental lists. "Interesting name. Do you like trains by any chance?"
namesnotprowl: (Think Think...)

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-08-02 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely don't want that, no. That would be pretty tragic.

"Might be good t'mention it to them anyway. Some might want to offer supplies. Suppose I c'n always check with Ratchet, see if he's got any ideas for building up a store of Energon." Not that Barricade doesn't have some minor experience with refining it himself... just from different materials.

He shrugs at the last question. "Not particularly. Just had good memories of the original Rail Yard from Axiom. Had some good times there." Drinking with Dudewave and Emoscream~

[personal profile] raceme 2012-08-03 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Let's leave that for another occasion.

"We should ask them where is the best place to build something like that IT will be big and perhaps some of the FirstForged would't want it on their quadrants. I think that Nexus and Solus might be our best chances if we to get need permission Nexus likes experiments and Solus is said to be the builders of all sort of relics and stuff."

Blurr nods and then looks a bit somber. "Sometimes good memories is all we got even if those were a lie."

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-08-04 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Putting it somewhere in the Haven would be best, probably. Much as it probably shouldn't be associated with any specific quadrant it'd be easier to defend here. Just have t'get a hold of them first."

Not that he isn't curious to see what these so-called 'god-entities' are like. Even facing a herald of Unicron before, he was skeptical about the FirstForged... and Primes don't scare him anymore the way they used to.

Barricade offers a slight, sad smile, and claps Blurr on the shoulder lightly. "They're still good memories for you anyway. Just don't think too hard about that."

"Like..in the middle? You are right that seems like a good idea. Water is abundant in there so that would be a plus for the organics." Blurr talked to some of them when he woke up in the Junk Pile. It helped him to believe that what he wasn't dreaming.

The blue mech returns the smile briefly but he's anything but cheerful. He shakes his head. "No, they're not anymore. What if someone you knew someone you worked with and you placed in the utmost respect for many cycles betrayed you and tried to kill you? He was faking all the time even during our good moments. Specially during the good moments."
namesnotprowl: (Decepticon Shield)

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-08-07 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
"And it doesn't come off as being 'owned' by any of these 'FirstForged', either. Probably a good idea f'r anyone that might not trust particular ones." Or any of them, for that matter, like Barricade.

"Well. We weren't close, perhaps, but I've been betrayed by someone I respected that later tried to kill me. And I've had someone close t'me that I respected over others at least try to convince me that he was faking." Not that their 'good moments' translate well to pleasant conversations with Autobots, of course. That's neither here nor there. "Know that neither of 'em are the same, but that doesn't mean I have to let the memories sour. Even if it means lying to myself to keep them good."

[personal profile] raceme 2012-08-07 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Blurr nods even if he's not completly sure. He's too used to have a figure of authority, someone to rely on. He' s mostly worried about what can happen if things get out of hand, mechs start fighting and no one even tries to control the damage. He misses the Elite Guard for what it represented.

"I wish I could think like that." Blurr looked a bit defeated when he finally answered. "IalsothinkIneedadrink."

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-08-08 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Barricade has learned, especially lately, that it's better to rely on himself than any leader-types. It always seems to turn out poorly when he follows someone else's lead. As for keeping fighting under control... that's what bouncers are for. He'd been his own bouncer and things worked out all right.

Even if he was designed to function as part of a group. Was upgraded to seek out a partner to work with.

"Drinks seem like a good idea, yeah. C'mon." To the refreshment table for booze high-grade!

[personal profile] raceme 2012-08-08 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Blurr doesn't have the advantage of strength, being a bouncer is out of his league. While Blurr does believe that unity makes strength he is, ironically, way much better at working alone than at coordinating effort with a large group of people. He's also too used to do his own thing without interruptions.

"Indeed. This is one of the good things about this place."

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-08-08 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Barricade didn't always have strength on his side for that... but sometimes speed and viciousness make up for it. He's more than willing to tear through seams in other mechs' armor if it keeps the peace.

"No shortage of fuel for those of us that use it. Definite improvement over some places."
raceme: (The fuck is this?)

[personal profile] raceme 2012-08-08 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It was speed and wits in Blurr's case, and stasis cuff worked perfectly if needed. He always carries a pair of those with him.

"Not even when we were at peace in my world we had that amount of energon available I should be careful..." He's body is not used to high grade actually.

[personal profile] namesnotprowl 2012-08-09 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
In spite of his police decals, Barricade sadly doesn't come equipped with stasis cuffs. He just comes with flails and guns and an attitude problem.

"Probably should be a little careful you don't overindulge. But I'd take advantage of the abundance, myself." And he usually does in the few instances where there was an overabundance.
