Just a little spar between two friends.
WHO: Ventus, Melan Blue and anybody who want to watch.
WHERE: Somewhere in the Junk Pile
WHEN: Today...?
WHAT: Melan had promised a spar to Ventus. He keeps his promise. Also, some exercise will be good for him. Not getting hurt for more than one week? That's not normal for Melan Blue!
WARNINGS: No doubt that some purple blood will be flying. Maybe some red too.
Melan always kept his promises. Marin had taught him that they were really important, especially when you made them to a friend or someone you liked. And the Knight liked Ventus. The young human reminded him of his friends, in the funny world: like them he was just so... accepting. It was refreshing to see another human not afraid of him.
And this place was dangerous. Melan had seen the strange volcano not quite erupting around Solus' temple, and he had managed to catch a glimpse of one of the "monsters" too. A young human should be protected, and since Ventus had a weapon and... magic... He just needed training, not a constant protection like Marin.
The GunSwordman had enough energy to take the time to fight Ventus and see where he needed to improve his skills: Melan wasn't a very good teacher like Pyon, but he was sure the human could learn a few things with him. Of course it wouldn't be as harsh as his own training, but in this world you needed to be strong, or a strong bodyguard. True the Knight was strong, but food was in relative short supplies here and he needed to conserve his energy: he couldn't be always available to protect those who needed it.
That's why he had sent a short message to Ventus earlier, with his coordinates, asking if the young human was available, and if he still wanted to spar with him: Ventus had answered by the affirmative, and was on his way. Melan was patiently waiting for him, standing in the middle of some flat area in the Junk Pile, away from the Badlands so they wouldn't be interrupted by a monster. Though monster hunting could be considered training too.

He spun around with his weapon once he'd come within range of Melan, and with how he bore his weapon, it was easier to make slashing strikes than thrusts.

But the Knight wouldn't allow a simple attack, magical or not, to rattle him: after all, GunSwordmen were proud warriors, and if Melan was less, ah, vocal about his honor than Pyon, he had promised to give it his best, and he would!
He charged once again, sword raised, but at the last seconds he refused the contact, dodging on the side and ready to use his gun again. The move would have been easier if he had been flying than running, and there was a chance he would just fall flat on his face if he slipped, but it was a really good occasion, and Melan wasn't about to let it pass.

The boy lifted his Keyblade- but found no blade to block as Melan switched tactics. "-!" It was a bad angle to hope to evade, but nevertheless, he tried to pull his blade back so he could block what he could of any shots made his way. There was no way he was going to be completely successful at this point, however.

Not too much, at least.
But there is another thing tripod feet aren't good at: walking on slippery surfaces. And too concentrated on his charge, the Knight hadn't noticed the polished glass panel in the junk. The proud Gunswordman slipped. And faceplanted, hard, on the ground. Ouch.
Melan sat up a little dazed. That was... Unexpected.

The first blast nearly knocked his Keyblade away, providing a clear shot for the second. And fly he did, crashing almost headlong into one of the taller mounds of junk bordering their appointed sparring area. He tumbled a few times before finally landing on his back.
Melan wasn't the only one dazed.

"Ah... Ventus?"
Once close, the Knight could see the human wasn't unconscious, just dazed, a little like him. The GunSwordman sat down close.
"I suggest we call it a draw."
Before we both begin to do some serious damages was unsaid, but it was obvious.

His armor vanished in a flash of light though his Keyblade remained beside him as he lifted his free hand to rub the back of his head. He looked up at Melan, forcing a smile.
"...y-yeah... I think I can agree with that."
Bright blue eyes flicked towards the most obvious of the Knight's injuries. "Are you okay? You're bleeding..."
no subject
"I will be alright. Do not worry about me."
One of his tentacles extended to cover the wound and emit some of its healing light, finally stopping the bleeding.
"It just seems your magic prevent me to heal as fast as usual."
Welle, it's not Ventus' magic that stops the healing, but the effects of the lambda, and Melan just didn't know that.
"And yourself? Do you need... 'medical care'? I can heal you too."
no subject
"Whoa..." he murmured as he watched Melan tend to his wound. Glancing up again, Ventus shook his head, wincing a little at the movement.
"It's okay, I got it covered." He dropped a hand over his Keyblade, hefting it up to point directly overhead. "Cura!"
What looked like a soft rain of glowing leaves drifted down over him, enveloping him in a faint green light.

"You are strong." The Knight said honestly. He hadn't expected a human too be so fast and strong. "You just forget that I got a gun."
After all, the only blows Melan had managed to land were after the creative use of his left arm.
no subject
"Yeah, I kinda did," he admitted, scratching the back of his head. "I'm glad we're on the same side- otherwise I think I'd be in real trouble if we had to fight for real!"
no subject
That's Melan trying to be reassuring. Enjoy.
The wound wasn't disappearing as fast as it should, but it wasn't bleeding anymore, and it was enough for the Knight. Food was in short supply around here, and he couldn't waste anymore energy on something so trivial.
"Are you completly healed now?"
no subject
Ventus started to try getting to his feet with the aid of his Keyblade. He dusted himself off, nodding at Melan.
"Mostly. I'll be okay though. What about you?" he asked.
no subject
"There."
The tentacles let go of the human and Melan took a step back.
no subject
"Thanks."

The Knight stopped smiling and looked pensive for a few seconds.
"Ventus... I have something to ask of you. "
no subject
"Oh, sure. What is it?" Ventus asked once Melan spoke up again.
no subject
"I... Need to take another form to rest. But I can't leave my other form on my own. Would you mind to... Break it for me, after a few hours? That way, I will be healed completely."

"Just break the Ampoule in a few hours and I will be free. If you need my help, just break it immediatly. Thank you, Ventus."
And then the Knight disappeared in a cloud of smoke, leaving only a little blue bottle of some sort. Congratulation, Ventus, you just found your first

The disappearing trick wasn't anything the boy had expected though, and he took a step back with a gasp.
"...wow..."
Stepping closer to the little bottle-looking thing, Ventus stooped down to pick it up. That was different. He stood up again, smiling faintly as he carefully curled his fingers over the object.
"Have a good rest, Melan. I'll see you later," he said quietly, taking care to pocket it.
