Hallways always [OPEN]
who: Vandal and any visitors. [OPEN]
what: Vandal is bed-bound, recovering from her month-long detainment and torture.
when: All this week.
where: The Medbay
warnings: very yes
notes: Tag in your own threads, it can be set during any point in the week.
The beep of the monitors is loud with her head this eerily silent. Whatever he did to her, between the needles and questioning, he separated it. Took something. Now that static in her head is far quieter. It's almost as maddening as when it was present.
Now she's almost lonely without it. Well- she was lonely before, but now even more so.
She doesn't sleep, no. It's not safe to sleep anymore. She wants to scream every time she's left alone, but it's not practical to have someone with her all the time. Prism is dead, the Gatherer is dead, but the way she goes back to that place every time she shuts her eyes.
So she lays in a space between waking and sleep, startling back to consciousness every tie she starts to drift. Shaking. Thinking about it. What it did to her.
She reaches up to smooth a finger over the gauze covering what used to be her right eye.
Ruined. He ruined her worse than the church did. The mental, the physical.
Everything. Ruined.
She wishes they'd have killed her when they found her.
But she's also a coward, and afraid of death, so here she sits and lets the stitches heal.

can i now ship it @ vandal x saber
The knight tilted her head as she didn't quite understand the saying, but understood the basics of it. Saber did, however, feel that since Vandal brought the two names up in such a way, that they were likely dear to her.
"Drift helped me immensely upon my arrival, but I have not spoken to him in length since. Wing and I met in person when confronting the Gatherer. The days have been hectic since I have arrived; there were the Glyphless and then your rescue. It makes me wonder if this is always how it is."
Saber may not have known that Vandal was feeling slightly bitter, but maybe this would ease the woman's mind.
"Oh, I have been assisting Kay with her Christmas plans. One of her main inspirations is you."
The knight smiles as she says this; Kay is a nice girl, and considering what Vandal and everyone else had gone through, the Christmas party was a great idea. Saber was looking forward to it, even if she was not a party person.
yes yes yes
"And yeah, pretty much. Status quo here. Someone either dying or being torn apart. I'm sorry you have to be caught up in the middle of it. You seem nice." She really does.
She winces a little bit.
"S'at so? Sounds like Kay. Girl has more sweetness in her than her body can contain." Quietly, Vandal worries about her a lot. If something like this could happen to herself, who was usually armed to the teeth, paranoid and surrounded by robots... obviously bristling with weaponry as well. Kay only has the robots bit, which she supposes in the end, is all any humans here can have, facing down another robot.
DID I REALLY DO THAT @ posting with wrong journal at 6:30 am
"Perhaps you have some idea as to why the ones who were brought here were selected..?" Saber asks. She hadn't asked this question since arrival, as it seemed many either didn't know, or even didn't care. But why would someone like Kay be brought when she was mostly defenseless? And this planet was obviously not meant for humans, so why would any humans be brought?
And the only reason she's asking Vandal, is because it seems she's been around for quite some time and is mostly established. There was likely a better time to be asking, and Saber knew, but this had been bothering her since she arrived.
it's k <3
She waves a hand, indicating the sinisterness of it. Possibly.
"Honestly things have been a clusterfuck since the very start. It gets quiet sometimes but only long enough to get people's guard down it seems like. If it's not the fucking badlands or lambda or whatever, it's some psycho that was brought in."
no subject
"And with these Firstforged accessible, no answers have been given? How strange."
Saber hadn't been around long, but she still had heard of this Overlord several times, and then there had been the Glyphless. Dangerous situations kept rising due to those being brought here, so it very well could be random.
And very well could be not.
It didn't sit well with the knight, displayed by the slight annoyance showing in her eyes as she glanced from the one resting.
"Forgive me. I was hoping I'd be able to acquire information from you that I couldn't from the others. This was hardly an appropriate time to ask."
no subject
Not to call them a bunch of liars but...
Well. She's calling them a bunch of liars.
Vandal sighs, laying back, rubbing a shaking, bandaged hand through her hair.
"It's fine. Don't worry about it. Honestly you can ask me whatever you want long as you don't leave me alone."
Well that came out before she could think better of it. So what? She's fucking scared. Who could blame her?
poor vandal ;o;
The woman looked rather poor, and really should be sleeping, but undoubtedly sleeping would not come easy. So, Saber offered her companionship and presence even if the woman was asleep.
The knight nodded once, as is confirming her own words. Shifting in the chair, the knight sat up once again in the chair, but allowed her shoulders to drop. It was best to become comfortable as soon as possible.
she's a sadsack. Thus is the case of a horro game character.
Usually she'd have refused, but exhaustion and paranoia are much stronger than what scraps of her pride she has left.
"Thank you. Maybe just. For a little while."
She settles, allowing herself to start drifting off.
