Even apples won't keep this one away
WHO: Ratchet and YOU
WHERE: Solus's Temple - Medbay
WHEN During/after the Event
WHAT: Medbay shenanigans
WARNINGS: None yet
There's a lot of people who were injured during the Second Wave, and most of them are going to end up in the medbay somehow. This log is for anyone who wants to log dragging/being dragged in for repairs, having repairs done/finished, or just coming to visit Ratchet to watch or help out. Ratchet's openned the Med Bay to everyone, just tag in a new thread with a time tag on it and I'll log with you c:
(Although, Starscream might get screamed at and mauled for removing Blurr's arm >>)

"Well, from what I can tell, our best bet is to keep you and your friends on generators for now. After that... there just isn't enough gasoline around to keep you running, and there's a similar problem when it comes to manufacturing gas. The best bet, I think, is to modify your team just enough so that you can run off of energon."

"You want to change us," he snaps at Ratchet. "No deal. I don't want some stranger messin' around inside of me!"
no subject
"Well, your other options are to stay hooked up to the generator and stuck on this berth forever, or to somehow magically figure out a way to make your engine run on air."

"So sorry. Guess I'd better become a wizard," the biker says snidely instead.
It's a bad idea; he knows how Toudou works under pressure, and he thinks to himself that Ratchet probably works just as well. The work is proper, the words can become snippy.
That rarely prevents Gunmax from acting as agreeable as he should be.

"Well gee, if you had that sort of power, maybe you should've used it instead of draining yourself dry trying to fend off monsters!"
Ratchet drops his hands, crosses his arms over his chest as he sets his jaw.
"Look. I don't have time to convince you, and I haven't even come up with a true method of making you lot energon-capable. That's just the best option I have to research right now. If you decide you don't want it, then fine. I'm not going to force you."
He raises himself up, then, looking quite offended.
"But you almost died from something as ludicrous as starvation! No bot, not even a particularly stupid one like you, gets to die from something like that. Not on my watch."
You have just roused some very significant Feels in this medic!bot. Be afraid, Gunmax. Be very afraid.

But that doesn't make them right. Gunmax had been ready to refuse fuel from McCrane because he wasn't going to take away something he needed. He didn't want to change anything about himself because this is the way that Toudou designed him. Everything, even down to his engine. Definitely not the personality; who could predict that? The physical aspects and all, though -- that was Toudou, their head engineer.
Yet, he can practically hear him saying the same thing that Ratchet is telling him, and he winces to himself even further, what McCrane said.
Don't make this any harder on Deckerd.
Right. For the sake of his own pride, issues, and attachments, he'd been stupidly ignoring his own partner. This isn't even just about Gunmax; it's about Deckerd and McCrane's survival, too.
He's holding them up, and his near death ... Gunmax can only imagine how hard that's hit Deckerd.
"Right." Gunmax sighs, relenting. "I hear you, I hear you. I don't know what Deckerd and McCrane want to do. I get it."
And scavenging for gas? Only going to get harder.
"...Just do me a favor. Whatever they say, change my engine. I want to be first." Gunmax turns his head away, unable to look at Ratchet when he speaks. "I don't know how this is going to affect us, but it might as well be the guy hooked up to a generator, eh?"

"If it helps, my goal is to change as little about your physiology as possible. For human-made bots, you're remarkably made, and I'd like to minimize any disruption of your internal balance."
He pauses, then offers an olive branch. "Your original engineer must have been brilliant."
no subject
"Shunsuke Toudou. He designed almost all of us." Briefly, there's a warmer smile that forms on Gunmax's face. Something that is not a defiant smirk. "But it's someone else that gave us a heart."
Gunmax's optics dim a bit further. "The help's appreciated, Ratchet. You just didn't hear it from me."
