WHO: Kagerou + YOU.
WHERE: All over the medbay, possibly outside of it.
WHEN Shortly after his AI is transferred to the small body.
WHAT: While his engine is replaced and upgraded, Kagerou's AI has been placed into a small vessel. A tiny version of his own body. And starts to wander.
WARNINGS: None!
NOTE: Totally open. Feel free to find the little guy wandering anywhere in the vicinity of the medbay.


[He does not need help.]

[He knows exactly where he is, thank you very much. He's in the medbay. Where he'd wanted to stay during the entire procedure. But, beyond that, he truly has no idea where he is or how he got here. Everything looks different, from down here.]

[Down here... where instead of humans coming up to his ankle, it's the other way around. Now he's the one who has to crane his neck to look up at his surroundings. If he hadn't been so concerned about his AI staying intact, he would have stayed in his normal frame, not allowed himself to be placed into this small one. It's annoying. And if he hadn't fallen off the table he'd been curled on, he would have stayed put.]

[But no, he had to get down.]

[He had to go wandering.]

[He pauses, tiny wings fluttering. He's sure he's passed this place before, but at his current size, it's difficult to tell. Yes, he could call for assistance... and he nearly does, before scowling.]

[Nope. He has this covered. He'll show them he can manage alone. That he can get back to the table and... other things... on his own.]

[The little ninja bot continues making his way in blind circles throughout the building, tiny jaw set in a stubborn line.]

[Drill Boy had been poking around to find all the important things to know, and had heard there was something called a Medbay here. He didn't know quite what that was but figured he would learn once he found it. When he arrived he saw a tiny little robot wandering around. Funnily enough he reminded Drill Boy of the mini Brave body he had been stuck in a little while ago, and looked a little like Shadowmaru.

He crouched down where he shouldn't be too startling and smiled.]

Hi there!

[Regardless, he's startled. Maybe he's just more on edge, being smaller, than he would be otherwise. The tiny body jumps about six inches in the air, wings buzzing.]

[Oh.]

[Oh he knows... that face.]

... hello.

"Heyyy! Kagerou!"

As promised, Soundwave is coming in for his usual visit. The morale officer, however, has been clueless to the younger mech's operation and pauses when he peers around the medbay.

"Kagerou?" he calls out hesitantly. "Dude! Where didja go? I brought a board game so we could have some fun!"

Oh.

That voice. Soundwave -- he'd forgotten the other robot was coming. In the midst of it all, it had completely slipped his mind. He sounds far away. So the little ninja starts walking. Jogging. He tried flying earlier, but it hadn't worked.

"Here--!"

Though whether or not he can be heard as he approaches is another story entirely.

Fortunately, the aspect of Soundwave's sensitive equipment also means he can hear the very wee mech. He tilts his head, mystified at the quiet noise until he realizes why.

"Wh-what the slag happened to you, little dude? Little, little dude!"

Soundwave crouches down, putting his hands to the floor delicately.

"You're so... tiny! Tinier than humans!"

He knew Soundwave was bigger than he was. Almost everyone here was. But he hadn't really realized how much bigger. He startles backward when Soundwave crouches, his wings fluttering.

"It... it was necessary."

Though he regrets it a little, at the moment.

"They did it while they replace my engine... transferred my AI."

"It's okay! I just... I'm gonna put you somewhere safe, okay?"

The safest place he can think of right now is his own cassette tray. Which, really, that's where most of his kids stay.

So to put someone as small as Kagerou in there... Still enormous, but better than almost being squished on!

"Ohh, I see. Well, at least you get t'move around and stuff, but still. This is kind dangerous, don't y'think?"

"I'm trying to find the room I woke up in--"

And the room he'd left the ninjabot's body in. The one which was now right-sized for him.

But excuse him. He's going to cling to Soundwave's hand, if he's lifted. It seems like the right thing to do. The reflexive thing to do.

"... I brought it up, in case Prism... in case there really were explosives. It was safer, for that."

[drillsandballs]

Oh, sorry... Didn't mean to startle you.

[He remembers how difficult being that size was for him, but if this robot had always been that size he doesn't want to be rude by pointing that out.

Then he realizes he recognizes the voice.]

Ah, are you Kagerou?

[He folds his arms. Yes, it looks petulant. No, he doesn't particularly care. He's tiny, and this is embarrassing.]

[Only to take a half-step back when his name comes up.]

Yes. I am Kagerou.

[inferiordude]

"Is that th' room you're usually in? I dunno where to find it. Uh, hang on, Kagerou."

Slowly and gently, he lifts Kagerou to his chest. With his other hand, he presses his eject button, opening his tray to set Kagerou inside.

"There we go. An', yeah, that sounds clever 'nough! Not a bad plan. Gotta get my fraggin' chip dealt with, I'm sick of hearin' its signal." But that's his own personal issue, after all, considering his equipment.

"Yes." He pauses, looking around, now that he's closer to proper height. Everything starts to snap into place, and he points a tiny hand in the right direction. "That way. Wh--"

Why does he need to hang on? What's going to happen--

Oh.

Well.

That's different. And, as any young mind would do, when faced with an unfamiliar environment, he... starts looking around. Splaying hands against surfaces. Though, he tries to stay in one place, because, really? It seems like a more respectful option.

"It was a decent plan. But now... I'm not sure. I don't think I like this frame."

[Drill Boy just smiles.]

It's nice to see you in person~!

There's a small laugh as Kagerou begins to explore around inside of his tray area. "Heh, careful! That tickles, dude."

Of course, when he first got the tray, Laserbeak and Ravage were just as curious. That had been interesting.

"Hey, look on the bright side. It's just temporary, Kagerou. Anyway, lemme get you back to the room, yeah?"

[He makes a face -- excuse his crankiness, Drill Boy. He's having difficulty with this little body.]

This isn't how I really am.

He goes abruptly still. He doesn't move so much as a wingtip, after he's told to be careful. "I'm sorry," he says, quickly. "I shouldn't have... done anything."

The last thing he wanted to do was harass, or otherwise bother someone trying to help. Someone he could trust.

I don't want to be alone.

"I know," he says. Very slowly, he eases down into a sitting position, knees drawn to his tiny chest. "But I wonder if I should have thought it through, better."

[inferiordude]

"No no! Yer fine. Just be careful, yeah? Until I'm sitting or something! Heh."

Soundwave makes his way over to the room as indicated, glancing curiously down at Kagerou's true body. Seeing it offline is a bit disturbing for him, personally; anyone who looks at it could say Kagerou is just recharging.

But for Soundwave? He doesn't detect any electrical signals from the processor. The body is just a case.

How frightening that must be for the Earth robots. Poor things.

"Nah, I think this was a good route. That way you can still move around an' stuff! 'Sides, I'll keep you safe, okay?"

"I will be," he promises. "I'm sitting... is that all right?"

He's been trying not to look at his body. It's not him, but he knows it so well. How to move in it, where it's weak, strong... how and where it's sensitive to contact. But it won't feel, if someone touches it now. He won't feel it.

... It shouldn't be disconcerting that he can be packed up and moved around like this. And, in a way, it isn't. But for the most part, looking at his frame is a reminder of how fragile his self is, in comparison to most everyone here.

How easy it would be to damage what makes him himself.

So instead, he's kept his attention on the other small frame in the room, the one placed by his frame's head.

"That was the idea. A temporary housing, while everything is taken care of..." He pauses. "You don't have to. You can't be with me all the time... remember?"

Whirl hates visiting Medibay. Everyone's always after his sexy, sexy aft. Which itches, and if there's one place that's got a good flight-grade lubricating oil, it's probably Medibay.

So, this calls for STEALTH. Whirl-style stealth. Which is only slightly less stealthy than Ultra Magnus reading over your shoulder and 'silently' correcting the grammar.

He's doing some recon, trying to figure the best entrance, and it's time to make his move. He slips into the doorway, and....

Oh, hello tiny strange thing. Have a gun larger than your face in your face.

"The frag are you supposed to be?" Lamest. Security. Ever.

What is he supposed to be?

He's gone.

The entire point of this tiny body is supposed to keep his AI safe. A large weapon threatens the exact opposite of safety. So, needless to say, the bitty Brave is darting in the opposite direction from that giant weapon.

Or at least, to one side of it. As fast as his little legs can carry him.

Right. You know how everyone likes to call Whirl all 'crazy' and slag? Yeah, well, here's the deal. Here's a simple, commonsense scenario: Gun, question, pause.

Correct answer: ANSWER QUESTION.

Zip around like a turborat on moonshined engex? Not the correct answer.

So who's the cray cray here?

"INFESTED! This fraggin' medibay is CRAWLING with something gross!"

Don't worry, he'll get it, Ratchet. Fee, fie fo fum, he smells the blood of something he wants to squish.

No thank you. Not if he can help it. If he were in his proper frame, he would have stood his ground, even if the concept of fighting another robot was... foreign and uncomfortable.

He wanted to live.

Even the small body had some sort of comparable reflex system. He could duck and dart almost as well as he could if he'd been in his real frame. So he did -- under a cabinet, to be precise.

[Drill Boy understands that, he has actually been right in that situation himself.]

It isn't? How are you normally?

[He shrugs, and folds his arms. When he does answer, it's a little surly.]

Taller.

Taller like me?

[As he asks he points to himself with one hand and holds his other out, in case Kagerou wants a lift up, since being so small seemed to be getting to him.]
