WHO: Nexus Prime and *YOU*!
WHERE: Various places in Nexus' quadrant, and some places outside of it in the greater parts of Cybertron. Base setting below, feel free to have your character encounter Nexus - or a part of him - wherever!
WHEN: Backdated to last week whups Over a period of time. Say...a week?
WHAT: Nexus Prime can keep his attentions on a lot of things at once. And he doesn't mind putting some of it towards the Refugees.
WARNINGS: None?

It's easy to keep tabs on a lot of things at once, when you can be a lot of places at once. For some people, multitasking is a problem - they can only focus on one thing at once. For Nexus, a single task that requires all of his concentration is either monumental...or very, very interesting.

When he's not focusing on the monumental, such as seeding Cyberton with energon, slowly urging pools of it to gather, or crystal formations to form on terrain that is still unstable, still shifting, still possibly rough enough to destabilize the energon (luckily, he's more than able to control any violent reactions) - he can be found in his quadrant. Examining one of the small towers he has constructed, or some ore that's been uncovered. Walking along the rim of a crater, discussing some matter or another with one of his Acolytes, taking a progress report before sending them out on some duty.

Sure, he could probably do it, too. It wouldn't be difficult for him to split a piece off, reform it in to a functional form, and send himself off to do the task. Sometimes he does, and a smaller version of him that is still no less him - or more than one such - can be found trying to finish hefting some rock or another, working on some construction, performing some tweak or another...

But even he can't be everywhere at once. Nexus knows how to delegate, and he makes use of the tools he has at hand. Including something that could almost be cheating - because it's only so easy for him to concentrate on one thing at once, when the larger tasks are done...he may still be working on another, even if there's a literal part of him that is simply sitting by an energon pool and all but playing with shaping it.

Or practicing.

He would if he could, really. Though that's probably a lie. But he's always been sort of... high strung, so to speak. Looking off towards the pool as his... maybe suspicion was confirmed, Cliffjumper has no idea what to do with this, or if it even matters.

"... Not supposed to see it? I'd have left if I knew," Cliffjumper said, the frown now not as sharp, more... just there. Of course, it might simply be the point that being watched without knowing it isn't pleasant (especially when you realize that's what happened), and someone watching to work can be uncomfortable too.

Great.

Crossing his arm,s Cliffjumper looks back up at Nexus Prime, managing to keep back something like a quip regarding "the fist of the lord of light".

"... Uh. Got a question, if you've got time. 'Bout all this... alternates an' slag like that."

"Interestin' enough the first time at least." Cliffjumper grinned, slightly lopsidedly, because it had been even if it'd taken a while. He wasn't interested enough to hang around a second or third time if he stumbled upon a similar scene again.

"An' it probably won't take that long..." Shifting on his feet, Cliffjumper shook his helm and continued. "I don't really mean alternates of any of us... er, refugees, or anything, but you. In general an', uh... particular?"

Frowning, he wasn't sure how to express what he wanted, because slag it all, this was a bit more... metaphysical than he cared to know, or understood, but he was still... curious. He hadn't met with the "pieces" for very long, neither Nexus himself, but... Still.

"I mean, how much are ya connected, if anything, to any other... er... alternate? If that's how it works for you." Finally he just huffed and crossed his arms, somewhat annoyed at himself.

Maybe he shouldn't even have bothered.
cliffjumper: (facepalm - Primus this is dumb)

... So that was the same. Cliffjumper twitches in place, especially when the mech - so much larger than the Nexus Prime he'd talked to - crouches a bit. This is so slagging strange, and somehow, it's more odd than just your usual alternate thingies.

"Nah, not that. Not the fact that you're a combiner." He frowns, uncertain how to phrase it.

"Like, I, er. Met an alternate you elsewhere. We never seem to be connected with our alternates, but since that Nexus Prime was kinda gonna travel across several dimensions, I was just wonderin' if that... affected anything?" A slight, groaning noise slips out of his vocalizer as he drags a hand over his faceplates.

He is completely coherent, yes.
cliffjumper: (listening - still strange)

That... kind of makes sense, actually. More than he thought it would, even if it's kind of disappointing.

"Nah, don't worry 'bout it. Kinda makes sense, I suppose?" Cluffjumper shrugs, looking off briefly and then back up at the Prime, a dry grin present. "Yeah, kind of a lot to do 'round here, ain't it? Probably just as well you don't got a clue, since I think they... er, he was supposed to be doin' something."

And sometimes it might be better not to remember anything but the problems of the place you currently are, since otherwise you keep adding on to it... like for Cliffjumper. Because there's home, and then there's... his other... place. And now here.
cliffjumper: (reasonable - next comes the gun)

An apology would probably just make it even more awkward, and Cliffjumper feels silly enough as it is. As such, a lack of an apology he'd probably be grateful for if he knew that Nexus was considering one.

"Yeah, pretty sure of that. He did manage to stop a sun-destroyer... some sorta bomb, so I can't see him failing in whatever it was he had to find." Pausing, Cliffjumper grimaces and shakes his helm. "This is slagging stupid, it's always so strange to talk of an alternate of someone you're talkin' to..."

Or talking about your own alternate for that matter, he had experience with that too.

That offer shouldn't really work, but it's already obvious there's some... pretty big differences personality-wise, which even Cliffjumper can see even as little as he talked to the Nexus Prime he knew first.

"... Yeah, why not." Cliffjumper's answering grin is a lot less wry and a lot more lopsided, but genuine. "Cliffjumper. Nice to meet ya."

And, strangely enough, that didn't feel as awkward to say as he'd thought it would be.
