a girl and her polarbeardog [or Korra finds her oldest friend, Naga]
WHO: Korra and Naga and whoever comes their way [so open to all]
WHERE: southwest of Solus' temple, on the far side of the gorge
WHEN: after talking with Knock Out
WHAT: Korra tries looking for Breakdown, ends up finding Naga instead!
WARNINGS: FLUFF AND SAPPY/HEARTWARMING REUNION AND GUSHING. If Korra perceives any threat against Naga after just finding her, SHE WILL FREAK OUT. Naga will similarly freak out against anyone who may threaten her human. Picture and information on Korra's polarbeardog mount and companion here at http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Naga.
One, Korra actually like exploring, probably because she spent so much of her life in one place. Two, she did want to help Knock Out find his partner. But the joy of exploration was being overcome by the growing lack of any sign of Breakdown.
Where are you?
And it was getting late. She'd be spending another night in the gorge area. Korra made a meager camp site, just bending up a tent of Earth and stuffing her supplies and herself inside, then settled down to sleep.
Korra woke at the sound of scraping against her rock tent. There was whining outside too, a...familiar whining. Followed by a familiar bark.
Holy--
The young Avatar immediately bent the earth away, and there she was--Naga. The polarbeardog's fur was dirty and tangled and she looked a little worse-for-wear appearance wise, but the large beast tenderly lapped at Korra's face, and the girl shrieked in delight, grabbing at Naga and hugging her head close, still one of the easier parts of the large polarbeardog to embrace.
"You found me, girl!"
How--well, she'd been dropped here, along with so many others. The same must've happened to Naga. And--
"Woah, you too, huh?" Korra wondered aloud, as she saw the mark of Megatronus Prime on the polarbeardog too.
Korra shook her head, hugging Naga tighter and welcoming her polarbeardog kisses. "I am so, so sorry I left you alone, girl. But thank you for finding me."
As long as Naga was here, Korra knew everything would be fine, no matter what happened.
"Come on, let's get you cleaned up," Korra said, beaming, beginning to bend the dirt and grit off Naga--and then Korra remembered bending the grit off Knock Out when she first arrived here. And Breakdown. Now she felt a stab of guilt over being so overwhelmed with joy while Breakdown was still missing. But then Naga playfully pulled at her hair, and Korra laughed, thoughts of tending to and caring for her polarbeardog pushing everyhting else out.
So Korra bent the dirt off Naga and bent water over her, washing her out. Korra giggled once Naga shook the water off as she dried herself off, splashing Korra. Korra carefully bent all the water back into her bottle, she needed as much bendables as possible in this strange world.
Korra reviewed her current supplies again, and frowned; nope, no food for Naga had appeared as miraculously as she. All Korra had was fruits and veggies, something Naga wouldn't care for, predator that she was. They'd have to find some real meat. Korra had to make sure Naga was fed.
"All right, girl, let's find you some grub--and get a good ride in, too!" Smiling so hard it hurt in a very good way, Korra carefully climbed up into Naga's saddle, but she seemed fine. This apparently hadn't changed, at least. She took the reigns, and urged Naga forward.
The polarbeardog's paws began to pound the ground. "Go, go, go Naga!" They went faster.
They were off.

"Korra?"

"Blurr!" Korra beamed, turning her head and finding the blue Cybertronian. She began to bring Naga over, whispering to her, "Easy girl, I know he's big, but he's cool...."
Naga was calm as she approached Blurr, just sniffing at his large feet. Korra rubbed the fur between her ears as she looked up at Blurr.
"This is my best friend, Naga. She found me--" Korra shook her head. "No idea how, I guess she just ended up here the same way we did."

"She's really big...and uh looks very soft for an organic. Shecanttalk?"

Korra grinned, giving Naga one last pat between her ears. "Sure! Naga loves making new friends."
no subject
"She's pretty."
no subject
"So, what were you doing out here, Blurr?"
no subject
"just keeping the rust out of my join Running around. I enjoy doing that and I need to keep training if I want to make sure I'm still the fasted mech out there."
no subject
Korra waved a hand. "I have a pretty good idea that you're way faster than me--you're like Avatar Aang's airbending in all the stories, they say he could run as fast as the wind!--but, y'know, just for fun."
no subject
"FASTER than the win uhm? Okay, let's see..."
no subject
Breakdown was just as missing as ever.
In his vehicle mode, he cruised, back and forth in ever-widening quadrants, casting out with all his sensors and scanners and straining for any sign of his partner. There was nothing, nothing--
Something.
An organic signature. Warily he approached it, and then just wearily when he recognized at least part of the massive organic beast as Korra. "Interesting ride," he called, still in his own alt form.

"Hey, Knock Out!" And she began to lead the polarbeardog over. "This is one of my friends from my world, she must've been sucked here too--woah, Naga, no--!"
Korra pulled on the polarbeardog's reigns again as she got in too close to sniff Knock Out. She remembered how Knock Out didn't care much for dirt, and though Naga was clean as can be, the girl's gut said the Cybertronian wouldn't appreciate it.
But Naga kept edging too close to stuff her nose into Knock Out's finish. Finally Korra slid off and held her down and away, ruffling the fur between her ears.
"Sorry about that, Naga's just curious."

Of course, by then Korra had wrangled her companion, which left him feeling a bit foolish.
"Well. Isn't she a charming beast?" His voice was a little strained and a lot dry. "At least one of us has found something they're happy to see."

Her stomach dropped a little at Knock Out's last words.
She bit her lip. Would this make things worse, or help.
"Do you want Naga to try tracking Breakdown's scent?"

gah, ko needs a hug
Korra scanned their surroundings again. "And you've found nothing in the gorge? No tracks Naga could check out?"
[OOC: And Korra still means the above totally innocently. Korra would think friends can touch.]
noooo kidding

[ooc: So, do you want Naga to pick at least a little something up, or nada? I was thanking maybe Breakdown had some dirt that got on KO at some point....]

"I'd like to, yes." Anything was worth a shot when it came to finding Breakdown. Knock Out covered the space between himself and the organics in a single step, bending gracefully to one knee to peer at Naga. "How does this work, exactly?"
knock out REALLY needs a hug
As this went on and Naga made no receptive response, Korra's stomach sank. Finally when Naga was just about to give Knock Out a friendly lick, she tugged back on the polarbeardog's reigns, stopping her and pulling her back.
"I'm sorry, Knock Out, Naga couldn't pick up anything."
sadly, what knock out really needs is his breakdown back )8
When Korra's quiet pronouncement finally came, he slumped out of his carefully erect pose, sitting down in the dust with a thud. "I see," he said, his voice just as small as hers.
;_;
"Have you tried asking the Firstforged?" She coughed, and kept Naga from being too friendly with Knock Out again. "I mean, they still seem like the guys who know the most about this place."
