a girl and her polarbeardog [or Korra finds her oldest friend, Naga]

WHO: Korra and Naga and whoever comes their way [so open to all]
WHERE: southwest of Solus' temple, on the far side of the gorge
WHEN: after talking with Knock Out
WHAT: Korra tries looking for Breakdown, ends up finding Naga instead!
WARNINGS: FLUFF AND SAPPY/HEARTWARMING REUNION AND GUSHING.  If Korra perceives any threat against Naga after just finding her, SHE WILL FREAK OUT.  Naga will similarly freak out against anyone who may threaten her human.  Picture and information on Korra's polarbeardog mount and companion here at http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Naga.

One, Korra actually like exploring, probably because she spent so much of her life in one place.  Two, she did want to help Knock Out find his partner.  But the joy of exploration was being overcome by the growing lack of any sign of Breakdown.

Where are you?

And it was getting late.  She'd be spending another night in the gorge area.  Korra made a meager camp site, just bending up a tent of Earth and stuffing her supplies and herself inside, then settled down to sleep.

Korra woke at the sound of scraping against her rock tent.  There was whining outside too, a...familiar whining.  Followed by a familiar bark.

Holy--

The young Avatar immediately bent the earth away, and there she was--Naga. The polarbeardog's fur was dirty and tangled and she looked a little worse-for-wear appearance wise, but the large beast tenderly lapped at Korra's face, and the girl shrieked in delight, grabbing at Naga and hugging her head close, still one of the easier parts of the large polarbeardog to embrace.

"You found me, girl!"

How--well, she'd been dropped here, along with so many others.  The same must've happened to Naga.  And--

"Woah, you too, huh?"  Korra wondered aloud, as she saw the mark of Megatronus Prime on the polarbeardog too.

Korra shook her head, hugging Naga tighter and welcoming her polarbeardog kisses.  "I am so, so sorry I left you alone, girl.  But thank you for finding me."

As long as Naga was here, Korra knew everything would be fine, no matter what happened.

"Come on, let's get you cleaned up," Korra said, beaming, beginning to bend the dirt and grit off Naga--and then Korra remembered bending the grit off Knock Out when she first arrived here.  And Breakdown.  Now she felt a stab of guilt over being so overwhelmed with joy while Breakdown was still missing.  But then Naga playfully pulled at her hair, and Korra laughed, thoughts of tending to and caring for her polarbeardog pushing everyhting else out.

So Korra bent the dirt off Naga and bent water over her, washing her out.  Korra giggled once Naga shook the water off as she dried herself off, splashing Korra.  Korra carefully bent all the water back into her bottle, she needed as much bendables as possible in this strange world.

Korra reviewed her current supplies again, and frowned; nope, no food for Naga had appeared as miraculously as she.  All Korra had was fruits and veggies, something Naga wouldn't care for, predator that she was.  They'd have to find some real meat.  Korra had to make sure Naga was fed.

"All right, girl, let's find you some grub--and get a good ride in, too!"  Smiling so hard it hurt in a very good way, Korra carefully climbed up into Naga's saddle, but she seemed fine.  This apparently hadn't changed, at least.  She took the reigns, and urged Naga forward.

The polarbeardog's paws began to pound the ground.  "Go, go, go Naga!"  They went faster.

They were off.

Blurr was running around to blow off some steam when he noticed...something. It didn't move as fast as him but it moves quickly and it was white. Strange. Once it got closer he was able to tell that it was in fact not an it but 'two' someone. And he recognized one of them.

"Korra?"

He had the ability to be concise if the occasion required it. He stared at the big organic, not moving and not really bothered by the sniffing.

"She's really big...and uh looks very soft for an organic. Shecanttalk?"

"Polarbearwhat? I never knew those existed." He looked at the beast sheepishly. "Can I touch her? I will be careful."
raceme: (I'm okay really)

Blurr moved a hand up and close to the animal's head. He did it very slowly, he was trying really hard not to scare the creature, and finally rubbed her fun.

"She's pretty."

He was taken aback by the lick but he quickly chuckled. If sentinel was there he would be screaming his head off at the view of Blurr allowing an organic to do that.

"just keeping the rust out of my join Running around. I enjoy doing that and I need to keep training if I want to make sure I'm still the fasted mech out there."

"I never raced against an organic before I'M NOT SURE if it's fair." He might have sounded a bit coky but he was slightly concerned. The liked Korra and her pet was nice, Blurr didn't want them to get hurt by accident.

"FASTER than the win uhm? Okay, let's see..."

Knock Out was, of course, out searching for his missing partner-- or at this point, honestly, even the least sign of his missing partner. He hadn't come across anything new, just the tracks that he'd followed when he'd first woken up alone in this waste. He'd followed that single familiar set of tire tracks through the dust then, and he followed it again now, but it still dead-ended in a wind-scoured table of empty rock. No dust meant no tracks meant no trail.

Breakdown was just as missing as ever.

In his vehicle mode, he cruised, back and forth in ever-widening quadrants, casting out with all his sensors and scanners and straining for any sign of his partner. There was nothing, nothing--

Something.

An organic signature. Warily he approached it, and then just wearily when he recognized at least part of the massive organic beast as Korra. "Interesting ride," he called, still in his own alt form.

Good call there, Korra-- Knock Out may not have been at his best, tracked with the dust and grit of this wilderness as he was, but that didn't mean he would tolerate a slick organic mucous membrane turning that dust into mud. He rolled backwards as Naga nosed at him, and again and again, and finally revved his engine and shot back in a cloud of said dust.

Of course, by then Korra had wrangled her companion, which left him feeling a bit foolish.

"Well. Isn't she a charming beast?" His voice was a little strained and a lot dry. "At least one of us has found something they're happy to see."

Knock Out's engine revved a little. There was a quiet, pregnant pause, and then in barely more than an instant he had transformed and was looming up over girl and beast. "Can she do that?" he asked with quiet intensity.
automobile_enthusiast: (Okay now we're getting serious.)

[personal profile] automobile_enthusiast 2012-08-18 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't exactly carry mementos of him around with me," Knock Out said flatly, returning to his full height. His mobile face, usually so expressive, was closed down into an indifferent mask.
automobile_enthusiast: (It was THIS big I swear)

noooo kidding

[personal profile] automobile_enthusiast 2012-08-18 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
"There's tracks, but they're old at this point," he murmured, optics distant. "And I doubt there's much of Breakdown left on me-- we Cybertronians don't shed detritus with quite the constancy of you organics-- but we could give it a try, perhaps..."
automobile_enthusiast: (Excuse me?)

[personal profile] automobile_enthusiast 2012-08-18 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
[[I am inclined to say nada, honestly. Because while it's possible that something on KO could be used to track Breakdown, whatever that is probably wouldn't be perceptible to Naga in the first place (isotopic radiation or lingering spark resonance or something). And if there were some kind of scent marker Naga could use, it's likely faded in the three or four days it's been since KO actually disappeared.]]

"I'd like to, yes." Anything was worth a shot when it came to finding Breakdown. Knock Out covered the space between himself and the organics in a single step, bending gracefully to one knee to peer at Naga. "How does this work, exactly?"
automobile_enthusiast: (I cannot I will not out of the question)

sadly, what knock out really needs is his breakdown back )8

[personal profile] automobile_enthusiast 2012-08-18 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Knock Out was careful to sit still as the creature sniffed at him-- even if it made the wheels mounted over his shoulders twitch to have Naga pass out of sight behind him. Not that he couldn't keep track of her with his other perceptive modalities, but sight was by far one of his best.

When Korra's quiet pronouncement finally came, he slumped out of his carefully erect pose, sitting down in the dust with a thud. "I see," he said, his voice just as small as hers.
automobile_enthusiast: (I'm really busy. See? Busy.)

[personal profile] automobile_enthusiast 2012-08-24 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"That would require them to be available." Knock Out heaved a sigh, and climbed wearily back to his feet again-- all the better to evade Naga's not-entirely-welcome attentions. "But it's worth at least a try. Solus Prime is usually... absent, but I've been told I can contact her through one of the Acolytes at her temple."
automobile_enthusiast: (The things I've seen...)

[personal profile] automobile_enthusiast 2012-08-24 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"I suppose they're..." He trailed off, then shook his head and waved one hand in an elegantly dismissive gesture. "Busy." His voice dripped with disdain as he said it. "But this is really rather inconvenient."
