Wouldn't it be ironic if... [CLOSED]

WHO: Deckard, Drill Boy
WHERE: Somewhere outside of Haven
WHEN: BACKDATED LIKE WHOA about two weeks to shortly after this (because life's been eating me for the past 3-4 weeks orz)
WHAT: Deckard's out patrolling in general and finally finds his MIA teammate
WARNINGS: Well...Drill Boy's in this so...some measure of cute, I'm guessing? XD
NOTES:  RC, if you want to say PJ went out with Deckard, that's awesome - just figure they got split up at some point before this?

One more round . . . just one more round, then he'd head back.  After all, he couldn't give up.  He could take breaks - when he had to, when his systems started to threaten to not give him a choice - but he couldn't just give up.  He'd work hard regardless of who was missing, of course, but this . . . this was personal.

This was one of his own.

Deckard had been in Haven almost a month now.  When he first arrived, he was told that four others from his world were here - Kagerou (the first one to contact him), Power Joe, McCrane, and Drill Boy.  Power Joe and then McCrane had finally checked in with him shortly after, but he'd never heard from Drill Boy . . . and none of the others seemed to know where he was either.  And then there was that massive maelstrom of a thunderstorm, followed by two weeks of chaos, and another week of "dust settling" from the effects and aftermath of so many having suffered through such radical changes, and all the words spoken and especially actions taken.  But now . . . finally . . . Deckard felt things had been quiet enough for him pull himself away from his duties as a member of the Haven police to do what his heart had been aching to do now for too long, as the team lead of the Brave Police.  He needed to find Drill Boy.  Or find proof of his departure altogether, as some believed.

Everything in Deckard told him that Drill Boy wasn't wholly gone.  He'd not Left.  He was out there, somewhere, and he needed help.

As tempting as it was to keep pushing himself, Deckard knew he'd never hear the end of it from some of those back in Haven if he stayed out here until he ran himself almost out of fuel on the possibility of finding something, so he started to turn back, noting the area - a ledge by a sloping cliff on the face of one of the mountains - so he could come straight back here to resume his search later . . . but then something caught his attention.  A footprint, half-obscured.  One of Deckard's problems was that massive storm had obliterated most any chance of finding solid evidence of a person's passage . . . but maybe . . .

A Brave's footprint was pretty distinctive, even among Cybertronians and other giant-sized robots - a square, hollow heel and wide, solid toe.
The remains of the first footprint wasn't enough to be sure, but as Deckard found more around and partly under various rocks and boulders, there was no mistaking the origin of the tracks!  Deckard looked around, getting the impression of a recent avalanche.  If he was right and a robot had been caught in it...  But if this were Drill Boy, he could have just...well...drilled himself free!  Couldn't he?  His vehicle mode - both vehicle modes - were drillers or had drilling capacity.  Of course, that was assuming Drill Boy could change into either mode.

If he'd been caught - and buried - in robot mode . . .

Deckard was making his way down the broken, unstable slope before he knew what he was doing.

"Drill Boy?  DRILL BOY!?"

Drill Boy had been stuck for a while, trapped in his robot form and pinned between some rocks. He had tried to get a hold of some one, but when he had tried his communicator had fallen down, well out side of his reach.

At first he had tried yelling for help, but when it hadn't done him any good he stopped, and to keep his fuel use to a minimum he shut of anything non-essential, like his lights. He was honestly scared that he could offline from lack of fuel at this point, and then what would happen? Would he just come back to life only to offline from lack of fuel again? That was so frightening to think of.

He was in a sleep mode state when he heard the voice calling his name, and it woke him up instantly, the voice to familiar not to have a name to it and he began to respond. "Deckard? DECKARD! I'm here! I'm..."

Suddenly he stopped. Last he had seen Deckard was before the other left out into the badlands.... Was this what happened? Had Deckard heard the voice of someone he knew and followed it into that place never to come back. A new panic filled him. "N-NO! Go away! I-I don't want to go to the Badlands! I want to stay... McCrane and Power Joe and Kagerou... I need to be here, for them! Please don't take me to the Badlands, please."

"I-I know it's you b-but you went into the Badlands Deckard... and now you're here to take me away too. But I don't... I don't want to go. Everyone was so sad when you went away. I can't do that to them." Drill Boy started to struggle against the rocks again, hoping that maybe now he could break free. I wasn't doing a whole lot of good, but the sound should give Deckerd a better pin point on the Hyper-Driller bot.

He seemed to be down a little ways from where Deckard was, holed up in a cave like opening.

Drill boy nearly cringed as far away from Deckard he was able to being pined by the rocks as he was. He looked up at the leader after a moment, looking somewhere between hopeful and afraid.

"It's... you're really here... from Haven." He stopped struggling and looked at him closely. "I've been gone that long?"

"Y-yeah, I got the conversion... you really aren't... from the Badlands?" He seemed to finally be getting it and relaxing. The sight of the fuel canister perked him up a bit. "I got worried... about running out of fuel so I turned off a lot of my non-vital stuff... most my lights and things like that."

With his arms free at the point they were at he was just able to take the offered gas can and tip it so he could get some more fule.

With the reintroduction of fuel into his systems Drill Boy once again started to struggle free of the rocks trapping him. "Thanks... I was... kind of afraid I would run out of fuel out here and just... keep dying and coming back. It was scary to think about." He responded, watching Deckard try to free him once it became clear that even with fuel again he wasn't going to break free.

"I was... just out exploring, I didn't mean to go to far, but I got all turned around underground at some point, and lost. I thought I was finally on my way back to haven when... the rocks collapsed on top of me and trapped me here." He explained. He ducked his head a bit, knowing he hadn't been smart in how he went about it.
