Rest in peace, pinky toe... YOU SHALL BE AVENGED!
Who: Whirl and OPEN so...uh..hopefully someone?
What: Whirl's been shot in the ass. And IS an ass so he refused to get help. From the guy who shot him in the ass. Go figure.
Where: The Junk Pile
When: nowish
Warnings: WHIRL.
Legitimately, Whirl can't even get that upset by events. Uh, not because he has a conscience or anything and thinks/realizes he actually brought the whole thing on himself by snatching Vandal (she totally deserved it because she lied about the acid), but because, yeah, well, this is how Whirl's life works.

Suck. Everything goes to suck.
Not being able to fly sucks. But worse than that? The pain is getting boring. Limping got boring a few cycles ago.
He's limping his way across the junk pile, a trail of energon turning clotty on the ground behind him. Easy to track, and for a klik it had bugged him, but whatever. Even being hunted down and killed would be less boring.

"Yes, your condition is pretty illustrative of that. Except maybe for the Autobot part." Which he doesn't find to be too shocking really. "But...why did he shoot you?"
Wing's posture remains open as ever, and his words flow from that openness as if they were instinctual. "So you want to know what I get out of it then?" It's a reasonable request. "Gratification. That I've done the right thing. That I've touched someone's life in a positive way. That I've taken a small step towards bettering a world that struggles with being better in the first place. Because maybe one mech can't make up for the shortage of compassion that seems to exist in our race but that's not going to stop me from trying."
A beat.
"What's your angle Whirl? What do you get out of turning me away?"
this is an old one i don't have notifs for anything newer
Whirl laughs, hard. "You're a bigger hippy than Drift. You really believe that scrap, don't you? Next you'll be blabbing about invisible energy Knights and positive vibes and rearranging the fragging furniture so the chi flows better and all that slag."
He snorts. "I get to prove to the world I'm not gullible."

It's good that there are humans here and human literature so Wing knows that these human terms are. "Likely I am. And yes, I believe." It's obvious Whirl stopped a long time ago, and though it saddens Wing, he suspects Whirl would only see the emotion as pity.
"Ridiculing someone who wants to help you in order to prove you aren't gullible?" He tilts his head. "Would it help if I demanded something in return?"
no subject
Whirl rolls his optic. "Seems to me only the naive and desperate believe in that slag. Anyone who's ever really needed that knows that it's never there to help you when you need it."
Anyone being hardened cynics who watched their dreams destroyed with their shop.
"It would at least be less fishy."

"When you need it? But I don't do it for the reciprocation. If kindness is returned to me then that's a benefit obviously, but I do it because I actually like making people happy. Because there are too many people who aren't."
He smiles. And maybe a there's a little good-natured challenge there. "Alright then. Have lunch with me sometime. Or if that's not to you liking, come fly with me once you get your repairs done."
no subject
Wow, miss the point much? "So, you got your motives for being all helpy, I got mine for not trusting."
Like that. "Yeah, uh no. Whatever 'offer' you're gonna make, count me out." Because meal invites are always 'let's bribe you with food and make you an offer.
no subject
Wing is just making a different one. "A fair assessment. We are the sum of our life experiences, though we can also choose to be more."
"Offer?" The jet quirks his head, curious, "It's a simple offer of casual camaraderie. If the meal doesn't suit you, then the leisure flight instead?"
no subject
Have a highly ironic optic roll. "Yeah, so you think it's just a matter of changing your mind and bingo?" Please. You're almost making him laugh.
He narrows his optic. "You wanna fly with me." Oh he's so up for that. "Fine."
no subject
His mouth flattens into a serious line. "...no. Why would I think that?" A pause, because he's pretty sure he knows the answer to that already. "Most of those are the hardest paths to take. It's why they are the roads less traveled."
"I do. When you're at you best." Wing smiles, a slight sparkle in his optics. "I do a jog around Haven's outskirts every morning, feel free to join me anytime. If you aren't a morning person, then we'll find some other time. Regardless, there are some canyons to the north that make for good sport."
no subject
Whatever.
"Because, I dunno. You seem to think life is all motivational speeches and happiness."
He snorts. "Maybe I just don't want to embarrass you by outflying you."
no subject
"Given we've only just met, that's an unsurprising assessment." He shrugs. Wing is well aware of the first impression he tends to make. It certainly doesn't bother him. "But I know life is nowhere near that simple. Nor that pleasant all of the time."
"It it wrong to encourage the potential though?"
He laughs, "That's considerate of you Whirl."
no subject
Whirl gives an irritated shrug. "Hey, I wouldn't want to ruin your shiny perfect little flying record or anything."
no subject
"Oh the contrary, feel free." Who's keeping a lifetime score anyway?
