Waiting For A Ride In the Dark

WHO: Garrod Ran & Prowl
WHERE: Nexus Prime's Neighborhood
WHEN: ...Now?!
WHAT: In a land of giants, getting around is going to be a pain. Thankfully! there's a lot of free rides around!
WARNINGS: N/A

If this was a dream, then he was sure taking his sweet time waking up! He'd already woken up once though, and nearly fell off of some ridiculously high ledge, only to be caught by some funky looking mobile suit. He still wasn't quite sure what this was all about, only partially listening to what explanations the Acolyte gave, not that it seemed that the Acolyte was paying much attention either as it sounded like it was going by some well-rehearsed script.

Fine. Whatever. So he was in some place called Cybertron because he fell into some rift or something. Right. Okay. Yeah. So somehow he got separated from the Freeden, which admittedly was cause for some concern, but hey, the obvious thing to do was to figure out how to get back to them. Since it seemed like the big mobile suit didn't have anything by way of answers for that part, Garrod figured he was on his own.

     Nothing new there, right?

Of course, once he stepped outside, it was hard to hold back that sinking feeling that maybe...just maybe it wouldn't be as easy as he thought it would be. The sky looked nothing like anything he'd ever seen before, the landscape looked completely different from that of a world trying to get back on its feet after a devastating war whose colony drops had left countries pocked with holes and craters. It was...different.

And huge to boot. It hadn't taken him long to realize that things were definitely not built to scale for humans. Was this some secret mobile suit facility? If that was the case, his Gundam would have been a handy thing to have. Garrod had the control unit, but a lot of good that was going to do him without the robotic armor itself.

He stared out at the vast expanse that lacked any sort of familiar features. In the distance he could make out some unbelievably tall structure that seemed to reach straight through the heavens itself. It was at that moment that he finally had to admit to himself: "...this...really isn't earth, is it?"

     ....crrrraaaaaap.

"-no, don't panic. There's a way out of this, there's gotta be. Um...um, what did that guy say back there... something about a...about a rift in the Lambda. That thing?" Eyes lifted towards the bright blue tear in the sky. If they fell through, and that...pillar-thing seemed to reach up towards it, then maybe... Maybe? There was only one way to find out, but that involved actually getting over there. Ugh, walking was going to suck, but at the moment, the boy saw no other options.
