She hadn't necessarily expected a response, and if not, she'd have been content to sit a while, simply enjoying the fact that he was actually still alive. The pleasure was, she knew, deeper than just relief that a friend had survived, but despite them steadily getting closer, she wasn't sure how far it should... could, go.
