When you get back...
Who: Chromedome and anyone
Where: Solus' Temple
When: Shortly after Rewind goes into a coma
What: Sad wife is sad
Warnings: Angst
Somehow this felt like it was his fault. He caused this somehow. It was connected, it had to be. Those few days of happiness that he and Rewind had together were only temporary it seemed. Chromedome regretted that one foolish month he spent running away and hiding. Why would he do that? He could have had more time to spend with his partner. That Rewind was in a coma was almost worse than death, since it didn't look like he was going to come back to him anytime soon.
The mnemosurgeon sat on a stool next to Rewind's prone body. He looked so small lying there. Rewind never felt small when he was awake and full of life... But he was so small here. Chromedome would wait for him for as long as he needed to, for Rewind had already proven that he'd do the same for him.
All he had to do now is wait.

He'd already managed to get Chromedome to pull his needles on Thundercracker while in anguish at the thought that Rewind had nearly become the next grotesque art display. He honestly hadn't expected him to give in to the persuasion so easily that time. And now it was time again to pull some strings again. For the future.
Chromedome will find a white hand rest on his shoulder. The closest Prowl will get to being 'caring' to his old friend.
"His vital stats have shown improvement since he arrived."

He turned his head and looked unhappily up at his old friend.
"This shouldn't have happened."
A lot of things shouldn't have happened. Like using his mnemosurgery again even though he knew Rewind would be disappointed in him over it. Chromedome never needed a lot of prompting when it came to using his skills, he hated injecting but he couldn't stop once he started. That this hadn't changed after dying said a lot about his dependency on it.
"Thanks for being here I guess."

"But you're fortunate that the others managed to find him before the DJD chose to make another display."
Prowl looks up to meet the other bot's visor. A sympathetic look may be expecting a little too much from him, but he did offer something calm and stable to look back at, and an ear if need be.
"I'm certain they will find a way to resuscitate him if need be."

If they had stuck together like they usually did...
Well, odds are nothing would have changed. Tarn was still bigger and more powerful than a hundred Chromedome's combined. That was hardly a comfort though. The only thing he should feel thankful of right now was that Rewind, at least, didn't die. That would have been the most spark-crushing thing ever.
"Why are you here, Prowl."
