WHO: Saber and Blurr
WHERE: Starting at the Haven, then quite far away from it
WHEN: Early afternoon
WHAT: Out for a drive
WARNINGS: N/A

After thinking about it for some time, Blurr had decided where he wanted to take Saber for a drive. It was quite far away from the Haven, but not too close to the Badlands, and he knew she wanted to travel that far away.

He had many things on his mind right now, all the sudden disappearances and those strange phantoms Wing talked about, but he was waiting forward their meeting. Blurr always felt more at ease next to her.

He waited outside the temple, listening to some music he recorded from the radio when he was in Detroit.

He was silent for a few seconds, staring at the petite woman in front of him. It looked so fragile but he knew she was far away from weak. Slowly, another smile appeared on his face. A real smile this time.

"I understand. It's a date, then." He nodded and then turned on the headlight of his shoulders. "This will _{help you to} see better, there's rocks everywhere and you could trip."

He would catch Saber if that happened, but more light was better, just in case. Blurr started to walk, paying attention to the walls until he found the gemstones she looked at when they first arrived to the cave. "You liked those?"

"Ah," she paused as she looked at the gemstones closely. Blurr noticed her looking, did he? Gemstones.. such rare stones that were worth so much. If anything, Saber thought they symbolized selfishness. "..Such stones have history to humans as being symbols of wealth. As a member of royalty, I am quite familiar with them. This clear one, in particular.."

Saber pointed to a diamond.

"Is worth a considerable amount. In fact, it's strange to me to even see this displayed so plainly here. It's called a diamond. It's known to be the strongest natural material on Earth. ..My Earth, that is."

She.. was unsure about these Cybertronians and their own worlds.

Blurr might not look like it because he was often a nervous little robot, but he noticed a lot of things. He was a secret agent, paying attention to possible important details were kind of his his thing.

"Hm. I see. It's not valuable to us because my race focus more on improving our fighting capacities than our looks. My race always had, sadly, a penchant for violence." It was not something Blurr was proud of, but there was no denying the truth. Even during peaceful times, Cybertronians enjoyed sparring and measuring their forces.

Blurr stared at the gemstone for a few seconds before reaching out and pulling it out of the rock. It looked fragile on his hand, like a mere crystal, but he believed her if she said it was the strongest material on her planet. And the way ir reflected the light...it still needed soem polishing but it was beautiful. He smiled as he offered it to Saber.

"You should keep it. It could remind you of home and I think...I think it fits you. It's strong and beautiful, like you."

Saber accepted the diamond and looked to Blurr as he held out his hand.

"Oh," the knight stated, tilting her head. His compliment caused her facial expressions to soften. "I appreciate it. I will keep it."

Really, on Cybertron, the diamond held no value now that she knew. It was more valuable that Blurr had gone through the effort of plucking it from the cavern wall for her, though. Saber was unsure if she would have been able to pull it off the wall by herself.

Holding the rock in her hand, she then looked up at Blurr.

"Please, lead the way. I assume you know of a spot with a good view to watch the skies..?"

Blurr nodded as their fingers brushed, still smiling. He might not be the strongest bot out there but he wanted her to keep the gemstone.

"I do, it's up the mountain." He started to walk, making sure there was enough light for Saber to see where she was stepping. Once they were outside he turned to face the girl again. "I can carry you up if you are tired of walking or you don't want to get dirt on your clothes."

Saber listened to Blurr's offer, but had to politely turn it down. Saber simply had a bit too much pride. Also, surely the climb wouldn't be that.. bad..?

"I shall be fine, Blurr. Thank you. I.. will let you know if I happen to change my mind."

Saber didn't want to shoot herself in the foot. Mountain climbing was not something she was familiar with, but she'd prefer to try on her own first.

Is not as much of a walk as walking up a mountain as the sun disappeared in the horizon. One made of metals that can be a bit rusty in some areas.

"If you are sure then. Isthatway." He pointed to the left, knowing the path was more flat than other ways and look over his shoulder from time to time to be sure Saber had no problem following him.

Saber was, luckily, agile. Even if there were spots that someone would have trouble climbing up due to height, she would simply jump upwards. She could easily span large distances by jumping that many humans couldn't, so climbing up a mountain path was not a difficult task for her.

When Blurr looked back at her, she would make eye contact and either smile softly or nod in a confirming way to let him know she was okay.

He was surprised by her agility and Blurr had to remind himself a few times that organics always knew how to adapt well to new situations. He smiled back all those times and by the time they reached the peak it was dark night. The surface of the mountain was less rocky and more flat there, the sky was so clear that Cybertron's moon could be seen easily.

"There we are. Breathtaking, hm? Ah..if I had to breath, that's it."

"It.. is, actually."

Finding a mostly flat circular area, Saber sat down on her knees as her dress and armor bellowed out around her.

"..It's strange," the knight spoke after a few moments, "when I first arrived here, I was certain I was summoned for a reason. Now, the more time goes on, the more I am less certain I am here for any reason at all."

That was quite a bit of sudden introspection from Saber, but that's what she had been thinking of when they were climbing the mountain.

The blue bot followed, sitting near her to watch the stars. Saber's confession was unexpected and he wondered if the girl had been worrying about it for a long time.

"Ah, the eternal question." He leaned back, looking first at saber and then up at the sky. "I used to wonder the same, centuries ago. Now I believe that someone's purpose changes as they change as well. _{What was important yesterday might} not matter tomorrow. I believe that what's important is to feel comfortable with yourself and then you might eventually find why you are where you are."

Although Blurr's explanation was very valid and made sense, it was hard for someone like Saber to accept. She had been raised to be a knight, then became a king, and then was summoned to two wars. She was so used to having a purpose, that not having one.. was bizarre. It also made no real sense with her as a Heroic Spirit. At the same time, the Holy Grail should have never been able to summon her again since she broke her contract.

"You are likely right. I have been attempting to find a new purpose here, which is why I finally did some research on Cybertron and its inhabitants at the library.."

Saber breathed in audibly, an inwards sigh.

"I am glad I was put on the Law Committee and it is now coming together. That along with the storehouse.. I believe those are my callings for right now. Although I do have honest ambitions towards the Police Force, I often feel lost with it."

Ah, that was something she wanted to ask Blurr.

"Do you feel perhaps I should give up my position on the Police Force? I have no problems with any requests that are made of me, but perhaps if my heart is not fully into it.. I shouldn't be on the force."

Saber was used to all or nothing for effort, not only some of the time.. which was how many volunteer situations worked.

If he knew a bit more about all those things he would understand her feelings better. Unfortunately, he did not, so he was trying his best.

"We are quite the troublesome lot, my people always had been. I'm sure that reading was at the very least, entertaining." Probably weird too. Learning about a new alien race wasn't an easy task.

"I think you need to follow your heart then. I will respect your final decision, no matter which one you choose. The Police Force will be always there for you if you leave now and ever want to get back. I know that we have not been as good as we could be..." Blurr couldn't help but think it was mostly his fault. "But now we are learning from our mistakes too."

"Oh, it's not that I have fault with the Police Force. It's just I am unsure if I should be on it unless I can dedicate myself fully. ..But, for now, I think I will stay on it until someone hints otherwise. I'd like to see if it changes and grows."

Turning to look at him, Saber smiled.

"Thank you for listening, Blurr. It helps more than you likely realize.."

Just being able to voice your thoughts to someone else sometimes helped you sort things out.

He scooted closer to her, smiling softly. "You can always talk to me. I know I talk and talk and talk and I _{do it really fast} but I know how to listen too."

Blurr was glad that Saber trusted him that much, and it made him more than a little proud. He knew that it probably wasn't easy for her. Then he looked up at the sky, smiling.

"I know, Blurr. Thank you."

As he moved over closer, Saber looked up at him with a soft smile and then looked back outwards.

"If you don't mind.. I'd like a few moments to appreciate the scenery while I am in good company."

The knight went quiet then, her form impressively still while her eyes slowly moved back and forth along the scenery. Saber wanted to absorb it and take it in, and hold it in her memories. It was made all the better with Blurr there.

"I don't mind at all, I wanted you to enjoy it." Blurr's faceplates head up ad the good company comment but he just smiled more and didn't disturb the peace with words again.

Slowly, those few moments turned into minutes and then a bit more. It wasn't until a breeze hit him that Blurr realized how late it as. "Ah! Yyou must be cold, it's dark night already. Aren't you tired, Saber?"

"Aye, we should head back."

Saber wasn't tired; if anything, she felt at peace and rather content. However, the nights could get ridiculously cold and Saber didn't want to put herself in a position where Blurr would be too worried about her.

Standing up, Saber turned towards the path they came up on.

"Lead the way, Blurr."

The knight had a better time figuring out where to step when she saw where he did.

Blur needed more than a sleepless night to get tired, however, he didn't want to risk getting saber sick because of the cold. That would be an awful way to end a lovely date. He kept his headlights on and directed to the floor as they walked, hoping that would help her again.

Because she was behind him, Blurr didn't feel so awkward voicing his thought. "I...I really enjoyed this _date with you."

Since Saber was familiar with the footing and climbing down was quicker than going up, they were able to get back into the cavern at a much quicker rate.

"I am glad; I did, too. It is nice to know that someone appreciates more simple sights and sounds as I do. It may be nice to experience it alone, but I think it is even more enjoyable with a good friend."

And then Saber joined him at his side as they transversed the caverns, aiming for the exit.

"Ah, if you do not mind.. Would you drop me off at the Hub? I do not room regularly at Vector's."

The knight also wanted to make sure the diamond was placed with her few other important belongings.

"I am a very talkative mech but I spent a lot of time alone and staying silent due to my job, _{I think that's how} I learned to appreciate that sort of things." He was also more comfortable around few people rather than multitudes.

"As you wish, mylady." He repeated, smiling and remembering that movie night with the guys where they watched The Princess Bride.

The drive back was peaceful and Blurr felt really calm and satisfied after leaving her safe at the hub.
