gotta stay awake

WHO; Dead End, Fortress Maximus, Rung
WHERE; s o m e w h e r e........probably wherever DE & Rung are hanging out.
WHEN; 22nd-23rd
WHAT; Two dogs one dude. All of which are Cybertronians at core.
WARNINGS; Bad dogs?

After this long, Fortress Maximus was starting to get used to things - but that didn't mean he had to like them. On the contrary, he hated this form. How small it was, how weak it was, how defenseless it was...and that was just to start with. Relying on a drone to cross any decent amount of distance was less than ideal.

At least it understood him well enough in this form to 'stay' when he barked at it. Small mercies. Because sometimes he just needed to be /alone/, and, yes, allow the form itself to just...do its thing. That was one point in its favor - it wasn't that hard not to /think/. Again, small mercies.

Right now it'd led him far enough in the Haven where there was enough to catch its olfactory sensors' attention. More than enough. Fortress Maximus, hero of Simanzi, walked with his nose on the ground as he followed a rather...interesting trail.

Rung wouldn't notice, at least not right away. He was reading through another book he'd found, since he didn't keep actual files for his patient in hard copy and thus had none of those to read through, seated on the floor near his desk in the makeshift bed he'd made for himself. He'd gotten use to his current form, enough so to function well enough and while he did wish he'd change back soon..

He was glad he'd at least gotten a form he could properly function in. (No offense to those turned into canines of course.)

Leaning back against his desk a bit as he shifted to make himself more comfortable, Rung caught movement over the top of his book and lowered it a bit, immediately smiling.

"Hello Dead End."

Scrap he'd been caught!

Looking around quickly, Dead End bounced up and dived into Rung's lap, rolling over almost immediately. This was protecting him just as good as sneaking around was.

Possibly.

"Rung." His comm helpfully translated for him, as he wriggled around getting comfortable.

Oh yes, this was definitely just as good in terms of protection. No one could possibly sneak up or hurt Rung.

Rung lifted the book out of Dead End's way, chuckling softly--more to himself than at the canine honestly--as the other got himself comforting.

"Everything alright or is this just a social visit?" he asked once the other seemed to be comfortable, starting to set the book down again only to pause as the door opened once more. A confused look swept over Rung's face until he realized just who it was, the book finally getting set aside now as he rests a hand on Dead End.

"Max?"

"Protecting," he yips, tail wagging happily as Rung gives him some attention. Bad luck beware he was on guard dog duty and he was clearly a vicious animal.

Ears perk almost immediately at the sound of the sneeze and the therapist calling out a name. When he's thought of fighting off things he hadn't actually wanted to fight off things. Fragging bad luck. The tiny little dog rolls. Lifting his head towards the door and letting out a deep growl - or at least as deep as such a small thing could go.

Who the scrap was this Max guy?

Oh now this wasn't good.

"Dead End, it's alright. Fortress Maximus is a friend," Rung said softly, giving the smaller canine a reassuring smile before he looked up again towards the larger canine.

"You can come in here, Max, it's fine. Assuming you and Dead End will resist the urge to harm each other...please."

Wait. Wait just one minute. Rung had said Fortress Maximus? The mech Skids warned him about? He was here?! And Rung was saying it was okay?!

This was not okay. This wasn't okay at all.

If Skids was to be believed - and really the Autobot hadn't lied to him yet - this was the bot that had previously hurt Rung. No. No this was not alright and he was not going to pretend it was. Even if it was Rung saying things were okay.

This guy was not a friend. Nope. Not even close. And he'd prove just that by opening the yipping floodgates, trying to look possessive and aggressive in Rung's lap.

"Primus, you two. Are you really going to act like this?" Rung said through a sigh as he scooped Dead End up and pressed a kiss to his head. "Stop it. Please. I know you don't agree but Fortress Maximus is a friend."

And he wanted the other here because Primus knows it's been forever since they'd been in the same place together.

His gaze shifted back to Max and he smiled softly as he cradled Dead End in his arms.

"Please come here?"

The yipping stops as soon as he's lifted and feels that kiss on his head, although it doesn't stop a small growl rumbling out from him. Fortress Maximus is not a friend. He was not one now and he'd never be one, Rung was just being nice as he always was.

This bot - varren furry thing was bad. Very very bad, and he didn't trust it one bit. How could he after what he'd heard? How could Rung after what had happened?

There was no way he was letting this guy get too close, tiny little eyes fixed on his every move.

"Dead End, please," Rung said softly, gently petting the canine's head before his gaze went to Fort Max as the other started to approach. His smile didn't waver, even as the other sat down a few feet away, Rung settling Dead End on his lap again before holding out a hand.

"You're being stubborn now."

At least he wasn't too close, small mercies. The further away that bot was from Rung, the better, even if Dead End would rather he be on the other side of the planet, this was better than nothing.

At least until Rung had set him down, that's when it all went bad. Or to Dead End it had gone bad. Rung was reaching out to the bad bot, of all things! He couldn't let anything happen to Rung, even if the therapist couldn't see it, he had to keep him safe from this guy.

The little pomeranian jumped up in Rung's lap, immediately pawing at his arm. Rung, don't do it, it's not safe.
