the land of the impure [OPEN]
WHO: Ashitaka, Yakul, & OPEN
WHERE: Junkpile
WHEN Afternoon, Thursday.
WHAT: Finally, Ashitaka wakes up -- to find himself in the junkpile, very far away from any forests. Ashitaka's arrival to Cybertron.
WARNINGS: N/A
In the haze of his own weakness and the strength sapped from him, he remembers barely what had transpired.
Princess Mononoke of the forest had arrived to Iron Town, intending on the murder of Lady Eboshi. He'd managed to intervene and carry away the "princess", but he'd been shot. Very nearly killed. To be honest, he'd assumed his own death, but the Forest Spirit...
He's certain it was there. Or was it a dream?
Ashitaka opens his eyes. Everything feels heavier.
There's nibbling on his shoulder, a familiar gesture of affection from Yakul. He turns his head, blinking slowly at the red elk. Weakly, he pats his friend's nose. "Yakul," he murmurs tiredly.
Then he pauses, peering up at the sky. His brow knits. Where is he? This is no where even remotely near the forest or Iron Town. This looks nothing like the land he's from.
He bites his lower lip, trying to gather the strength to sit up, but he fails, his head smacking the back of something metallic. Ashitaka winces, peering around. This isn't even grass or rocks surrounding him; this is a bunch of items, man-made it seems. For all of what Eboshi and her people have done, they have not been this disrespectful, so what is all this?
"I wish now more than ever I could understand you," he whispers to his elk. "Maybe you could tell me how we got here, then. Was it that wolf girl?"
Unlikely. Who knows?
"Wherever we are, I--" Ashitaka pauses, then peers down at himself. His injury from the gun is gone, but...
He looks at his hand reluctantly.
The mark of Nago's curse is still there.
If he did not feel defeated and exhausted before, he does now. The Forest Spirit brought him back to life. Why did it leave him like this?
He shuts his eyes, sullen. The only comfort he has is Yakul's nuzzling against his shoulder. Between the fact that the curse remains and that he is clearly far away from the forest now, his fate is known now. He cannot escape it, as was determined.
All he can do is meet it.

She makes a gesture to Yakul, not sure by any means what elk do or do not understand. "Here." She taps her booted foot to the ground in attempt to demonstrate the ground is more stable, at that spot, than upon the compacted junk.
Slipstream looks back to Ashitaka. "Are elks to ride on?" She prods at the junk, shoring up the area above his position.

It's a situation he doesn't intend on getting into all that much. Everything is still a bit... raw, after all.
The elk stares at Slipstream for a moment, then nudges at the junkpile a bit before he leaps down to the solid ground. Yakul turns, watching Ashitaka, waiting for him.
"Where I'm from, yes. They are." Ashitaka smiles tiredly. "He's also my friend."
