Meet and Greet and Everything Else
Who: Anyone near the Rec Center/Bar
Where: Haven's Hub and Rec Center
When: The first week of November
What: This is the general meet and greet for Glyphless as Wing and Drift invited everyone to the bar for some R&R, shelter, fuel and medical attention.
Warnings: None at the moment!
Tag in your own threads and tag anyone else you want to meet! Anyone is welcome, not just Glyphless.
Well it certainly is buzzing with activity, the new surge of glyphless wanderers has certainly made work, but it's not too gloom and doom. People are getting fed, and getting repairs if needed. And spirits seem decent if not a little tense for obvious reasons.

"I'm certain it's difficult. But it's better than the alternative." He nods, "Good, I'm glad."
"Starved for fuel...?" He looks around as well. "Oh! Ha-ha, no. They aren't actually refueling. Well, not just for that purpose. They're drinking for pleasure. This fuel has pleasant side effects."
no subject
"I don't want to think of the alternative," he admits, his wings flattening down against his back. "Not at all."
The answer to his question makes him blink, then frown. He hadn't even known it was possible to drink for pleasure. Not for robots, anyway. Humans did so -- and he was only aware of that because there were laws regarding it. "We can do that?" he asked. "Side effects...?"
/casually and unwittingly enables drunkeness
"Then let's not. There's too much ahead of us and I'd rather focus on the good instead of the bad." Wing nods matter-of-factly.
"Yes, I believe Gunmax was the first to see what high grade energon does to your systems and it seems equivalent to the effect on ours." Wing is oddly proud of Kagerou at the moment and just for being sensible enough to ask about side effects. "They vary a little depending on the person and their tolerance. The right amount can give you a pleasant buzz, make you feel happier, but more can lower you inhibitions and dull your systems. When you're overcharged it's a heady feeling which is nice, but it tends to hamper judgement too."
Wing smiles. "I keep telling you try new things if you want to Live. This could be one of them. Just do it with you have a friend to watch out for you."
good job wingdad
He leans into the arm. It feels good, to have support like this. After so much confusion, after so much had gone wrong, it was good to see that something still remained unchanged. A friend. It's more than he could have asked for. More than he could have expected.
"He would," he says, a little more sharply than he intended. "He is aggravating like that." He tilts his head, falling silent as the explanation continues. It doesn't sound so bad. At least, the pleasant parts of it. Maybe he should try it...
And that just confirms it.
"And you just... take anything? It all works the same?"
Worst, best dad ever.
It's nice for Wing too. He always feels better when friends are close, and he needs the comfort now more than ever even if he won't admit it.
"He certainly was ready to entertain the new experience." Wing chuckles, not that he could really blame Gunmax for being adventurous, he likely would have done similar.
"Not exactly, some is more potent than others, and the flavors can vary. Of course, I don't know that we have much variety yet, I think Swerve is working that out with Nexus."
it's okay Wing, he forgives you
"Entertain..." he repeats, slowly, as if trying the word out in his mouth. "Is it really entertaining?"
His head tilts, the side of it ending up against Wing's plating. "I don't think I would be able to tell the difference..."

The jet's lips curl at the corners as he listens to the word slowly cross the young mech's mouthplates. "It can be, yes. It feels good, and tends to make most mechs feel happier, more relaxed. And often mechs who get overcharged are...extremely amusing to watch. You do tend to lose some of your inhibitions though, which can be good, but also bad if your self control goes too."
Oh he had stories of his own that he could share...
He outright smiles at the head against his chassis, tipping his own to brush his cheek over the curve of Kagerou's helm. "You might be surprised. When you consume only one type of fuel all your life, you start to notice the subtle differences and appreciate a variety." He looks down at the other, "Do you want to try a sample?"
no subject
"Using something to feel better..." He shakes his head slightly. Despite the warnings, it does sound interesting. Something new he can't help but be curious about. And if it really did make you 'feel better'... That wasn't so bad, right? "I've never tried anything like that."
The return gesture earns the barest flicker of a smile from him. He settles in closer -- if that's even possible at this point. Close contact was missed, to say the least. "There isn't any fuel back home, except for gasoline." He glances up. "I would like that, I think."
no subject
"Don't misunderstand, it is artificial in a way, but when used as an aid or an enhancement to real happiness then that's fine, but it should never be used as a replacement for it." That never bodes well for anyone.
Tiny smiles were better than none. And they were sorely needed now. "Then we'll get you one." Wing makes a gesture towards Swerve behind the bar and they exchange a few words. He then lets his cheek rest on the crown of Kagerou's helm again as they wait.
no subject
"Never to be used to replace feelings," he repeats. "Just to make them better?"
Maybe he doesn't quite understand yet, but he's trying. He's always trying, whether or not it's obvious.
He watches, intently, as the order is placed, memorizing the steps, the phrasing. When the time comes, it's entirely likely he's going to ask for a drink in exactly the same way he just witnessed -- forever the shadow, until he can find his own way. He looks up a little, at the close contact, though he doesn't pull away.
He simply reaches out to put a hand on one of Wing's arms, to reciprocate.
no subject
"Yes," he nods. "That's a good way to think of it."
It's how the young learn, by mimicking their elders, and then when comfortable, branching out into new things.
When the drinks arrive, one for each of them, Wing hands one to the ninjabot. "This is pretty mild, as high grade goes. A good place to begin. You can drink it as slow or as fast as you like, but start slow and then go from there."
no subject
Oh, the mimicry he can do. That's never been a problem. It's the 'branching out' part he seems unable to do. Maybe it's something in the programming.
He steps away a little, when the drinks show up, peering at it curiously. It's sort of pretty looking. Almost a shame to drink it, when it looks like this. Fuel never looked like this back home.
It took him a moment or two of staring at it to actually take a taste.
And then he had to sternly remind himself to slow down, before he finished the whole thing on the spot.
