Meet and Greet and Everything Else

What: This is the general meet and greet for Glyphless as Wing and Drift invited everyone to the bar for some R&R, shelter, fuel and medical attention.

Well it certainly is buzzing with activity, the new surge of glyphless wanderers has certainly made work, but it's not too gloom and doom. People are getting fed, and getting repairs if needed. And spirits seem decent if not a little tense for obvious reasons.

"Wheeljack. I presumed after what you said, you would be more adverse to high-grade at the moment."

It's not meant to come out as a lecture, but force of habit; nearly everything Ultra Magnus has to say can come out as one, after all. In the case of Wheeljack, though, it is unpleasantly complicated for him.

Magnus still isn't sure what to make of the fact that all the dead bodies he dragged back are starting to come back. With no memory, to boot.

How is he supposed to treat that?

Wheeljack's wings perk up at being addressed. After everything he found out...how to even approach Magnus? This guy not only took care of what Wheeljack couldn't do, but also had to carry his dead body back. Then listen to his confusion about the situation. Wheeljack usually didn't think this deep into things, but...hey, death's pretty deep itself.

"Yeah, turns out I was totally off on that situation."

A hand goes to his helm, rubbing it slightly. Why can't I remember that...?

"Didn't peg you as the partying type."

"...So I take it you were informed," Ultra Magnus states slowly. "I see. I apologize for not being more forthcoming. I couldn't decide if it was better to tell you or not."

It's a completely sincere statement. Frankly, he'd rather just tell the truth, but that's not always what's needed for others. In the case of someone being dead and then coming back -- how the slag is he supposed to handle that? There's no footnote, no law, no policy dictating how to handle something like this.

He shakes his head. "I'm not here to celebrate anything. I'm here to make sure nothing gets out of hand. That's all."

There's a dismissive handwave. If he was angry about it in any way, he doesn't show it. "Probably wouldn't have even believed ya."

He's with you there on how to handle that. How do you react when people say you were dead, but you can't remember the cause, or anything it entailed? And that feeling of...something inside him. Something that seemed to kinda dig into him. Nag at him. It didn't go away, and if it wasn't from hangover...

Well, he wouldn't bring that up to anyone just yet.

"Figures you'd be the fun police," he chuckled, taking a sip of Energon. "But guess that's for the better. No one better suited than you. ...Cept maybe Jeeves."

"No. Probably not. I am still having a difficult time accepting it as fact."

There are some who have defied death in various ways where he's from. Particularly, Optimus Prime has pulled off the impossible, but there have been reasons. Not just... death and then returning. The only other one he can think of is Ironhide.

It's still off-putting. He should be grateful that Wheeljack is alive, but it's complicated when he distinctly remembers the corpses he had to cart around.

"Good of you to acknowledge that. I guess." Sort of, kind of. "Jeeves?"

"No kiddin'. 's not the easiest thing to believe."

He swirls his drink idly. Conversation with the guy who towed your body back was awkward on so many levels.

"Jeeves? Uh...Perceptor I think his name is. The big one."

"Interesting name for him." The reference is lost on Ultra Magnus, but that's hardly surprising. "As much as Perceptor is diligent on his work, he is not always... agreeable."

No, as a matter of fact, that Perceptor has a lot of sass, which is something he isn't used to.

His hand slams on the table, eyes widened in mock-shock.

"Ya don't say."

He's not used to so much sass either, actually. Ratchet brought his A game, but he couldn't hold a candle to Perceptor.
