Meet and Greet and Everything Else

What: This is the general meet and greet for Glyphless as Wing and Drift invited everyone to the bar for some R&R, shelter, fuel and medical attention.
Warnings: None at the moment!

Well it certainly is buzzing with activity, the new surge of glyphless wanderers has certainly made work, but it's not too gloom and doom. People are getting fed, and getting repairs if needed. And spirits seem decent if not a little tense for obvious reasons.

"Perceptor."

The fact that the scientist is a tank about of his own height is still odd to him, but he's still very much... Perceptor. He gives a grateful nod before he accepts the datapad.

"Thank you. And I assure you, I'm not here for social obligations or for casual activities; I'm here to make sure it doesn't get too rowdy."

[sciencetank]

He scoffs a little, planting one hand on his hip as the other... pulls out yet another pad. Apparently, the scientist kept them about his frame like normal people kept spare change.

"Mm, I suppose, given the circumstances, that's to be expected." He glances around the room. "Do try not to look too terrifying. You'll skew my results."

"Your results for... what precisely?"

Does Magnus want to know? Too late now, he's started himself up to ask, after all. What could Perceptor be looking to study here?

[sciencetank]

"The effects of high-grade on the actions of a populace recovering from a minor state of crisis -- whether or not consumption increases, decreases, or remains the same."

He actually smirks a little as he says that. Smugly. Granted, he doesn't have a baseline for the data, but it's as good a start as any.

"I see. Are you..." Bored. "In need of tasks? I suppose I'm not sure if I quite see the importance of that kind of study, admittedly."

Really, the only benefit he could see might be for law-related reasons. Seeing what people do in a crisis, how many regulations are broken.

That sort of thing.

[sciencetank]

"Hardly."

His expression doesn't change. If anything, Perceptor just looks more amused. "Are you familiar with the concept of multi-tasking, Commander?" He waves his hand at the room around them. "There are many things requiring my expertise, but, at the moment, none of them are quite pressing."

He shifts his weight to the side, body canting with it. "I find this study to be... amusing, a diversion from the more chaotic pursuits of the evening. I daresay it borders on fun."

"Multi-tasking is something I do every day, otherwise no work would be done," Ultra Magnus returns with a flat look delivered to Perceptor, which is an excellent combination with his dour expression he perpetually wears.

An amusing study. Yet he isn't sure of its point, if Perceptor receives enjoyment from it, it's not his place to judge, he supposes.

"I just don't see the point of it, but that's neither here nor there."

[sciencetank]

"In that case, you'll understand that while I am engaged in the more noble pursuit of threat assessment, I am also finding a good deal of enjoyment in watching lesser minds waste processing power on doing..."

He scowls, briefly, as if studying something across the room.

"... whatever it is being done over there."

One massive shoulder rises and falls in a slow shrug. Perceptor doesn't answer immediately, just focuses on inputting his data.

"There is always a point in keeping the mind occupied, Commander."

"It's not a matter of keeping the mind occupied. Though if this is your method of recreational activity, so be it."

It just seems terribly pointless to him. Then again, it's sort of... strange that even someone like Perceptor has some method of fun, isn't it?

"Do inform me if you need to share any relevant data. Otherwise, I should keep my attention to everyone here."

"Then, what is it a matter of, precisely?"

Not everyone can be as anti-fun as you, Magnus. Then again, hardly anyone would call what Perceptor does for amusement 'fun'. Not that he particularly minds.

"Oh, rest assured, you'll be duly informed of anything pertaining to justice and lawbreaking, and whatnot. Though I daresay the results will be far more interesting if I don't keep specifically to those variables alone."
