The Cold Resolve of Steel
WHO: Dinobot and anyone
WHERE: By the lambada
WHEN: Just after the invasion
WHAT: Dinobot goes samurai mode
WARNINGS: Some battle carnage
Dinobot heard the call from Vector Prime. His feelings on the self-proclaimed Prime were still dubious, at best. However, the Vector had a point when he mentioned they had a duty to this Cybertron. It wasn't his own Cybertron, but with the fragility of time he knew it could easily alter the hundreds of other Cybertrons. He himself was not sure exactly what future he wanted, but he knew these...invaders from the lambada threatened the existence of any future.
Nothing more needed to be said, he took up his sword and went straight to the coordinates. Make no mistake, he wasn't a team player. He came to fight for himself, for his honor. Already he spotted the teeming number of mechanical monstrosities. They had no place on this Cybertron or any Cybertron. Sword and tail-shield at the ready, he charged the nearest hideous mech, running them through with his sword. Already it had gained the attention of the others.
The Maximal took light footing when taking on the others. He bobbed and weaved through the onslaught of attacks, taking out only one or three at a time. He knew he couldn't fight them all. This warrior was in over his head. He hoped he could fight off enough for the rest to hold off.

[OOC: "let the battle be joined"]
Korra felt the vibrations in the earth same time she heard the sounds. Creeping forward as quietly as possible, Korra observed Dinobot surrounded from her cover of one of the mismatched piles. Maybe she needn't have bothered being quiet, the battle was so fierce, she was a speck on their attention span.
Good.
Korra bent out a wave of earth that slammed a number of the monsters taking Dinobot's side.
"Need a hand?!" She called out, bending up another spike of earth next to her, ready to stab.
[OOC: Korra in light armor here http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1h0gxOp3d1rs30kho1_500.gif and with helmet here http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m1dtkt6Nxt1rs30kho1_500.gif and in the icons.]
[Best line in the show~]
He whirled round to notice the human coming to his 'rescue'. Part of him should have been grateful, but he felt the girl would be taking a risk for her species were she to become a casualty.
With a parry and stab he motioned to the human to stay clear.
"Only if you can fight."
Always the cynic, Dinobot.
Re: [it so is] [no, I need more fighting icons DX LOL]
Still, maybe try for some strategy. Dinobot was close quarters right now, she could hang back and provide long distance support. Korra bent the earth spike forward to stab several monsters on it. Then the earth around her she bent up so that she now stood on a pillar overlooking the battle. Carefully scanning the terrain from her new height, Korra kept bending the earth around the monsters, and started shooting fireballs at them too.
[as I need more icons in general]
He spotted a flank of two monsters to her side. The only method was to fire eye lasers at the two offenders.
Strange...that took more energy than it should...
Re: [as I need more icons in general]
She frowned. He looked a little drained after that.
"Hey, you okay?" Korra shouted, as she uncapped the bottle tied to her waist by her pelt, bending out the water into icicles that fell stabbing monsters through the ground. She bent the icicles back to liquid water, and sent it into a spiraling defensive loop around her, knocking down more monsters and even cutting some.

"Pay no mind to me, just keep focused on the battle at hand."
One approaching monster he stabbed in the chest. He resumed battle position.

Time to abandon ship.
Korra bent out her pillar toward her enemies, breaking it in the process. She jumped, rapidly bending a new earthbending ramp for her to slide on--slide--
She bent the water over the ramp, coating it in ice. She landed and slid down the ice-slicked earth ramp. Back on more level ground, she bent her earth ramp and ice to form a moving wall to shove back the onslaught of monsters coming her way.

"Taking your accursed spark is almost too easy," he sneered as he punched one before slicing it across its shell.
Now those were taken care of, he might keep those overwhelming the human. He bobbed and weaved through the flurry of attacks, quickly slaughtering those he set his sights on. This was what he was truly sparked for, the battlefield.

Korra shouted as one long claw wrapped around her waist and plucked her up. She quickly bent fire into its face; it shrieked, dropping her. Korra landed on her feet, only to have a painfully flailing tail come at her; instinctively she bent up a wall of earth to block it, but the tail cracked it and sent her flying.
She rolled across the ground, then bolted up and bent a wave of fire all around her, trying to get the others to back off. She noted she got scratches on her cheek again, more than one this time--! But her armor held up at least.

"Watch yourself more carefully!" he scolded, "I will not allow human casualties on my watch."

Speaking of, handy earth moving powers there. Really saved his aft. Now he had some freedom to take care of some other monsters having free reign. He dispatched the second to last of the group when a ball came bearing down on him. Even with his strong Maximal chasis, it hurt.
He snarled, rising up and stabbing it with one deft move. That will show these ruffians.
no subject
What was that ball that just hit Dinobot?
He'd stabbed at it and--
It was exploding.
A bomb?!
Eyes widening, Korra rapidly bent to contain the exploding fire, throwing her own control over the blaze.
Sweat started to bead her forehead. She didn't often try to restrain a fire per se.
Finally with a gasp she just bent the fire forward, slamming it into another monster.

A growl rumbled through his throat. How could he not see that? What a fool he was! Already his chassis had been charred badly, leaving heavy black marks on most of his body.
He needed a moment to rest, all he could do was to keep them at bay with his weapon, stabbing those who got too close.
no subject
She bent the water to freeze the monsters, then bent the earth below she and Dinobot to rise up and give them higher ground.
Heart pounding, she asked Dinobot, "Where the hell are these things coming from?" She swiped the blood from her cut. "I mean, if they're coming from...something...shouldn't we stop that something?"
Korra checked the frozen monsters, and concentrated again, resealing the cracks that started, but knowing they wouldn't last. "I mean, we've just been hacking and slashing at these guys...shouldn't we come up with some kind of strategy or something?"
Ohman, if Tenzin could see her now....
no subject
Slowly, he hoisted himself up from his resting place. Enough idling. He turned to the frozen monsters. Stabbing them at the moment wouldn't be honorable.
But the girl was right. Strategy was needed.
"They are coming from the same accursed place we were drawn from. We must stem the tide of the arrivals, if not at least divert their attention away from the others."
He went into his battle stance.
"When we have drawn them away, you must go."
no subject
As he moved quietly and carefully through through groups, looking to see if there was a way to stem the tide of them, he found Dinobot. He didn't know the 'bot from a hole in the ground, but he wouldn't leave him to be overrun. While he knew quite well the strange bot could be a con in truth, he threw out his mecha-blades and let two monsters wobbling without their heavy, clubbed tails.
At least now the fight was a little more even, though he'd revealed himself and broken his stealthy advance toward the source of the creatures.
no subject
His head glanced to the Autobot, nodding a brief acknowledgement. Before anymore creatures could make an advance, he pointed to an advancing side flank of the monsters. Dinobot could attend to the rest. He charged the creatures, running them through with his sword, creating a group of dead monstrosities.
no subject
As it was, he sprung in among the new monstrosities coming from all sides, and started laying them low with well places strikes from both servos and blades. He had honed his skills these last few years and they proved quite adequet for the task at hand, even if the other bot was better armed.
Prowl had honed his chassis to a weapon over the years, and his mind guided him to weak points that others may not perceive, his master of processor over matter slowly being worked into physical combat-- bolstering jumps with pushes of mental force or grasping at weapons that might've come too close and turning them aside.
He's still mastering the art, but it is proving a most useful and versatile skill.
no subject
Dinobot weaved through the advancing flanks of the monsters, stabbing right and left. One swung at the Maximal. Dinobot moved with the attack, whirling around and impaling it on his sword. Unfortunately, another struck, throwing him back. He skidded to the ground, growling.
The monster came running to finish the job. Just as it came right toward him, he stabbed upwards, running it right through its stomach. A crooked smile formed.
no subject
He is a force of grace; less stabbing and slashing, more precise movements and subtle strikes that bypassed armor and shook the gears and struts beneath. When fleshy things came through, well, they couldn't endure the impact of servos of alloy, now could they?
Bodies were piling up, stewn willy nilly among the trash, falling where they wilt as the pair worked at their respective scores, winnowing them down.
"A tactical retreat may be of use," he called to his companion, "to one of the temples. THe creatures seem to have been flowing from the rift above -- meaning the junk pile is not a sustainable position!"
no subject
He heard Prowl's words, but he could not speak, not yet. He waited until he had slain enough for there to be a good lull between the waves of creatures.
"The temples would make a fine foothold. But we must kill enough to stem the tide!"
no subject
Which is why, of course, he bears that Firstforged's symbol.
"Either way, we should choose soon - the next wave will be upon us in moments!"
no subject
In any case, this Autobot might have other intentions. Best to move to this Alpha Trion's temple, away from Vector's at least till he knows more.
"Alpha Trion it is."
no subject
Or at least, the reasonable fortifications of Alpha Trion.
no subject
"It will be a matter of time before they reach here. We must prepare. Where is the weaponry?"
