Shout out to the friends back home~
WHO: Rung and Blades | Open to anyone else!
WHERE: Nexus' Temple
WHEN Not long after Blades' arrival on the planet.
WHAT: Rung offered to show the new mech around and fully intends to do so.
WARNINGS: Nadda~
It was weird to Rung, in a way, how many individuals he'd been interacting with since he'd arrived on this odd Cybertron. Sure he'd interacted with a lot of bots back in his home world but most of it had been on business terms and there were very few bots that Rung had considered a friend.
Kup had been his one and only for a long time. And then Whirl had come into his life.
Outside of them though Rung had never really found himself close to others so he was enjoying his chances now to interact with others--Like Blades.
There was something oddly adorable about the copter bot and really Rung did need to do more exploring of his own. It crossed his mind that he maybe should have invited Ven along, considering they had been talking about this sort of thing not that long ago but the psychotherapist really wanted to touch base with Blades first. The other just seemed so scared of this place, and rightfully so really since it was probably much different from what he was use to, so he didn't want to overwhelm the younger bot or anything of that sort.
All in good time really.
Reaching the temple he was after, Rung transformed and hesitated for a moment, looking around and just taking in the sight of the temple itself before pinging Blades to get a lock on his location. Nexus' temple was much, much different from Prima's and it was intimidating in a way--though everything about the first forged was really. He lingered where he was for a moment until he got a ping from the younger boy, heading where he needed to go in order to find the bot in question. Rung reached the copter bot's quarters and knocked lightly, backing off from the door a few steps just so he wasn't crowding it or anything of that sort.

"Rung!" Blades called out enthusiastically, quickening his pace to close the space between his new friend and himself.
"Thanks for coming," he said, pausing an arms length away from the other and resisting the urge to hug him. He didn't know this bot, he reminded himself. Not really.
no subject
"There's no need to thank me, Blades. I was more than happy to come by," he reassured the other, fighting the urge to fidget slightly and instead tucking his arms behind his back, lacing his fingers together to keep his hands still. "Were you ready to do some exploring then? I don't know many of the places but I can at least show you where I have been then we can go from there."
Just as long as they didn't get in trouble. That was the last thing that Rung wanted.
no subject
"Sure, that sounds great," he agreed cheerfully. His first time outside... It seemed a little ridiculous to be so apprehensive about going outside, but here he was.
"Lead the way, I've got the flashlight," Blades announced, turning on the spotlight on his front left side. It would be more than bright enough to accommodate their needs.
no subject
"So what is your home like, Blades, if you don't mind me asking," he inquired, tucking his arms behind his back once more as he walked.
no subject
"Well home right now is on Earth, on an island called Griffin Rock," he explained, pointing himself around a bit to illuminate the area as needed. "It's a secluded island that a lot of humans live on, and it's more... technologically advanced than the rest of human society?" It sounded stupid to say, since it was still at a primitive level as far as Blades could tell.
"Anyhow, my team and I are rescue bots. Optimus Prime told us to stay and observe the people and help them out. Buuut, the only people who know we're alive and can think for ourselves are the Burns family. Everyone else just thinks we're large, transforming, well-programmed robots." Which was unfortunate and a hassle, but he wouldn't want to be the one to break orders. That was Heatwave's specialty.
no subject
"Ah, so that's what you meant when you said you had to pretend to be a robot. You meant an actual non-sentient type of robot," the therapist mused thoughtfully, the other's initial video feed making a bit more sense now. "It sounds like quite the mission to partake in. I never got to visit Earth myself, though I have heard many bots talk of the planet."
Some had good things to say, others didn't.
"Come on then, this way," he said, motioning for Blades to follow with a tip of his head, leading the other away from the temple in the direction of some of the other established sights and areas that he knew about. "So what are these humans you interact with like? I'll admit, my only interactions with humans--ever--have occurred here."
no subject
He followed obediently, sticking close to Rung just in case... Although Rung didn't really strike him as the type that could defend himself. Neither could Blades, really, but if they were attacked he could airlift them both out of there in a hurry.
"Humans are as different as we are. I work mostly with Dani. She's nice enough, but she's always in a hurry and likes to yell at me and fly high... And then there's Cody. He's always fun. Kade is pushy, and Graham is nerdy, and then there's the Chief. He's very nice and always patient with all of us." Realizing that he was talking too much, Blades paused again. "So yeah, all different."
no subject
Rung truly hoped that never changed.
As they headed away from the temple, Rung listened as the other spoke about humans, committing each each name to memory so he could use them later on in conversation. He always liked to keep everything other's said in mind after all.
"So a lot like us," the therapist said with a smile, glancing over at Blades, optics softening some to reassure the other he didn't mind the talking. "It sounds like quite the interesting group. And what about your teammates?" he asked, head tilting a bit.
no subject
"Well, Heatwave is a hothead and stubborn. He's the leader, but I think Chief does that more than he does. Chase is stiff. He wants to do everything by the rules, no exceptions. Boulder is... is the word hippy? Nature is his priority, and harmony, and he's very nice." The orange and white copter didn't feel so bad talking more now that Rung had let him know it was ok.
"So, do you have a team?" Enough about him, though. He wanted to know more about Rung.
no subject
At least from what he'd seen so far.
"Hm? Oh, well, not a team exactly. I'm apart of a crew of bots that left Cybertron," he explained, smiling faintly, sadly even. While he was proud to be apart of the Lost Light, a part of him would always be sad that he'd left his home planet. There..just hadn't been too much there for him it seemed. "Rodimus is our leader and Ultra Magnus and Drift are his seconds. We've actually got quite a large crew on board the ship.."
Even if some had been lost.
Rung paused, looking around as he tried to get his bearings on where they were, optics flickering slightly before he picked a direction and headed to the right.
"So..what was your Cybertron like, if you don't mind me asking."
no subject
Ok, Blades, now seemed like a good time to shut up. Every time he talked he felt like he was making a fool of himself, and in this new place that was so foreign... Well, making and keeping friends seemed like it might be important. They might not be at war, but allies were always a good thing to have. Even if Blades was praying to Primus that he would never have need of allies in a tough situation. But who knew? Maybe he could help others, and he liked helping others.
Everything was just so... barren. And dark. Thank goodness for his spotlight. Blades wasn't a huge fan of darkness. It was sneaky and scary. Especially flying at night! He made a mental note to avoid flying here, even if it looked like there were very few aerial obstacles like trees, mountains, and buildings.
"Busy. Bots everywhere, big cities, very bright." He shrugged as he looked around, noting the exact opposite of their surroundings. "I left before the war really started, and I was in stasis for a long time... I'm not sure what it would look like now."
Sad thought, but true. Optimus had filled them in on what had happened in their time in stasis. It wasn't a pretty thought.
"What about yours?"
no subject
Even if he had been lonely then as well, at least it hadn't been war ravaged and dark. So dark and dreary. Much like how he left it when he joined the crew of the Lost Light.
"The..very last time I saw the planet though..it was much like this," he added after a moment, pausing and nudging a bit of junk with his foot, looking it over before continuing forward, piles of junk started to appear more often now. "This is the junk pile, by the by."
Change of subject yes please.
"Apparently items fall from the Lambda as well and end up here," he explained, looking over at Blades. "All sorts of things can be found here, from what I've figured out and heard."
no subject
It was a nice thought to imagine that if they just traveled far enough, they could find other bots, or civilization. What if they were just waiting for them on the other side of the planet? Maybe if there was a fast jet or something they could go explore. Blades wasn't fast, so obviously they shouldn't send him flying off across the dark planet.
He stared at the junk pile. "Wow. That's a lot of stuff. It's like that thing just tears things from everywhere and sometimes it just happens to be bots. Or, humans. And bears. And racoons." Ok, so this place was diverse.
no subject
"Sadly it's not. It's a little too different--" A little too cold in a way. "--to be the Cybertron I left behind." He wished it was, or at least that it was familiar to someone here because then it would make him feel a little less wary of the entire place but, unfortunately, fate was a cruel mistress wasn't it?
Rung found himself chuckling as Blades stared at the junk pile, nodding some as he veered a bit closer to one pile and picked up a small piece of something--perhaps originally from Earth?
"It would seem that way. The nature of the Lambda is quite odd," he admitted, tossing the piece back down before turning to Blades again. "What..is a raccoon? A bear is like Teddy yes?"
no subject
"Yeah, Teddie is a bear, sort of, and a raccoon is... well, small and grey and walks on all fours..." A lot of things walked on all fours on Earth. And Rung had never been to earth. This explaining thing was... complicated.
"Well, I'm sure you'll see him around, anyhow." Finally feeling bold, Blades moved forward to pick up an.... umbrella. It was torn, but it was green and when it was opened there were little frog eyes at the top.
"Cute, huh?" He asked, spinning it in his hands. He liked the ones with the eyes.
no subject
It was ridiculous but in a cute sort of way.
"Indeed. What..is that exactly though?" he asked, moving a bit closer to get a better look at the weird object that his companion was holding.
no subject
Blades twirled the umbrella a moment more before he offered the handle to Rung.
"It's an umbrella. Humans use it to stop the rain from touching them," he explained. "They don't like to be wet, except when they do..." It seemed weird to want to be selective about when one got wet, but Humans had a lot of odd habits.
"And it's made to look like a frog," he pointed at the eyes and the little red tongue. "Frogs love water, so it's like they're letting the frogs soak up the water for them."
no subject
It was amusing at the same time.
"So..they don't like being wet in certain situations?" he asked to clarify, finding the humans to be confusing things. He tilted the umbrella to look at the face as the younger boy explained what it was, smiling softly before holding it out to Blades once more. "How curious.."
no subject
Unlike Cybertron where rain was rare and was made of acid.
"But then they get into the wash racks every day, which are just water, and sometimes they jump into pools, rivers, or oceans. I don't get it." Why be selective? It was something Dani had never been able to explain to him in a way he would accept.
no subject
He took a few steps forward, towards another pile, picking up small object that made a noise when he touched it, causing Rung to drop it just as quickly.
"What...is that?" he asked, peering at the odd item, the long piece coming off the oval shaped base snapped now, the strings broken in some places.
no subject
Actually, it was a guitar, but the guitars Blades had seen on TV had all been electric guitars and thus looked fairly different from the acoustic guitar in his hands. They were all string instruments in any case.
He handed it back over to Rung. "Humans make nice music. I used to go to recharge every night listening to it. Dani called it classic rock, which I don't get because I thought all rocks were the same age." Humans had strange names for a lot of things.
